I'd be willing to bet they will. They started doing more heavy shit after the Heritage tours, so at best we'll probably get The Devil's Orchard and/or Folklore on this one.

I saw them open up with Master's Apprentices. It was pretty badass.

It's kind of sad, in one tour Opeth went from "See every time no matter what" to "Maybe if the set is good and even then...". If they play a set like this one: http://metalsetlists.com/showthread.php?t=21817 I'll go no doubt but if it's Heritage pt. 3 I'm keeping my money.

Every time I see this thread bumped I think the full lineup & dates has been announced. Fuck! You bastards.

I have this strange feeling that The Devil's Blood might be on this. They totally fit in with Heritage-era Opeth, and they did just cancel a pretty big NA tour for unclear reasons. I'd imagine they'd be stoked to hop on a tour like this. Wishful thinking perhaps.

Katatonia just announced that they are coming to America in the spring with another band. I wonder if this is what they were talking about.

I like Katatonia and all, but couldn't they have gotten a different band?

Opeth were supposed to be doing another NA tour last fall (but pulled the plug at the last minute because Mikael needed a break from touring), and it was supposed to be with Katatonia again. So yeah, I'd say there's a good chance that this is it now. Hope they announce dates soon.

I really hope not.

Since the last tour Katatonia did was a co-headlining I'm hoping for a regular headlining set.

Its another Opeth/Katatonia tour. So far the only confirmed date is in Michigan.

If they play songs like Brave or Rainroom then this could be a very interesting tour.

But they probably won't.

That they're doing Indy sorta bums me out, because I already bought and sold a ticket to this once when the Opeth setlist was all that Heritage shit and crappy mellow songs from other albums, but it IS only an hour drive. Ughghggh.

Why all this hate for the Roxy? The sound hasn't been particular great the few times I've been there but other than that it seems decent. I'm looking forward to seeing them in a smaller venue again.

Can we just stop for a moment and talk about how amazing the April 28th show will be? They're playing with Steven Wilson!

Has anyone attended one of their meet and greets? I'm thinking about shelling out the money for a VIP ticket (mainly for the clear vinyl), and was wondering if it'd be worth meeting the band.

Very true. As long as I remember to get tickets right when it goes onsale it shouldn't be difficult. I probably would have skipped this if it was at the Wiltern or something.

I'm in the middle of this discussion with my friend now. I really have no idea. Louis C.K. did the same thing a few months ago. He easily could've sold out the Fox. My guess is the booking rates are substantially cheaper, and since both IF and Opeth are pretty established already, they know their fans will travel a few hours to see them. Regardless, it's a huge pain in the ass, but I'm amazed they're hitting Georgia at all this tour.

According to Mikael, this is deliberate to make the shows "more intimate".

And apparently the shows are going to have a mixed setlist - so I'm assuming we're still getting a good chunk of Heritage songs with a few growl tunes thrown in for good measure...or (hopefully) Harvest in its entirety.

Sorry to resurrect a half dead thread, but this could be of use to some people.

April 19th is in Montclair, NJ at the Wellmont Theater, not the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville as originally posted. I believe the Starland is still undergoing renovations after Hurricane Sandy.
