This is really surprising. I understand that she was being a bit of a diva a few days ago, I didn't think it would lead to this, however. Logically there were things happening behind the scenes I'm certain, but nonetheless...so thankful I saw them this tour.

Mixed emotions. I feel proud because I got to see the next to last show they ever did w/ Anette on Thursday. I thought everything seemed like it was fine but of course that was on stage so of course no way to tell.

When she got bent out of shape that the girls from Kamelot sang for her during the Denver date that seemed like beginning of the end. I'm more partial to Anette because when I really got into Nightwish she was their singer not Tarja. I'm also glad to get this tour because I know that the majority of these songs won't be played again, rather it be w/ Tarja or whoever the new singer will be.

I don't understand all of the hate on Anette. They put out 2 very good albums w/ Anette as well. There was always talk that Tarja begain exhibiting diva like behavior towards the end of her Nightwish run too. I call it revisionist history.

I would like to see them get Tarja back since I never did get to see her originally. If not, I have faith they will still find another great vocalist.

I could tell something was up when Anette made those comments a few days ago, but I dodn't really expect this either. Never got huge into Nightwish past the basics so I'm not really affected by this, but it's still surprising this would happen mid-tour.

Even though I dug the Annette material and overall style more than Tarja's, I know the band can do better. Personally, I thought Elize Ryd pulled off the material great. I don't know if she'd get asked to join or if she would accept, but I'd dig it.

With Floor Jansen taking over, whom I really like in Star One and After Forever, I might have to go. We'll see if they change the setlist at all tonight. Hell with a better singer, even the Imagnarium songs might sound better.

PLEASE bring Tarja back now! It was her unique opera style singing that I love the most about NW. While Anette has a great voice, it's also a bit more average sounding.

But it's Nightwish, not Foreheadwish.

Well, after what she said on her blog i'm not surprised this happened. She was upset that the band didn't talk to her first about doing the show without her. When the hell were they supposed to talk to you Anette? When you were getting loaded into the ambulance? Were Tuomas and Marco supposed to ride alonside you to the hospital and discuss this matter while the medical personal ran all their tests and tried to figure out what was wrong? What an egotistical bitch. You got sick less than an hour before you were supposed to hit the stage, what time was there to discuss anything with you?

A little reality check for those of you who want Tarja back, it's not happening so get over it. One of the reasons she was let go was because she didn't want to tour north america where they played smaller venues. So unless you want to never see Nightwish again live I wouldn't be calling for her return. I'm sure Nightwish likes the money they're making touring here and doesn't want to throw that away either. Is Floor Jensen doing anything that important right now? She may as well stay because she's as good as anyone they'll find.

As i've said before, what makes Nigthwish great is not who sings for them, it's Tuomas's songwriting skills. As long as he's still writing great material he can get any capable female singer to perform those songs and they will be fine. Tarja and Anette are nothing without Tuomas, not the other way around.

I find this amusing, since I don't care for Nightwish, but I have to say that I completely disagree with her reasons for leaving. If anything, the band showed professionalism by using a guest singer and going on with the show, instead of cancelling and pissing off a bunch of fans. Seriously, it's a band, not her solo project.

There's more than meets the eye with this. Doesn't anyone else find it a little strange that they announce Anette's departure and on the same day they have Floor Jansen ready to go for their concert that night? It's not like they called Floor up at the last minute in Europe and asked her fly all the way to Seattle to fill in like that. I think there were some serious issues going on for a while now and Floor was on standby in case anything happened.

Who knows, maybe she's who they wanted as their singer when Tarja left but she wasn't avaiable to do it until now?

Meant to post this yesterday.

Olzen's statement about being replaced by temps when she got ill says it all.

They should split up so Marco can tour constantly with Tarot. Far better band.

The sound is a bit muddy but here's a recording of Nightwish's first show with Floor on vocals:

I think she sounds great, especially with the older material. Sorry, if this is against the board rules to post this link. The mods can delete the post if it is.

As the newest member of an already existing and established band did she have any right to be pissed at the band for hiring a replacement when she was unable to perform? It's not her band, it's their band (meaning the other members). She was just a replacement herself.

Tarja released a few comments about whether or not she'd rejoin Nightwish, and it makes for a pretty interesting read.

Funny read to me. But as long as she is happy.

Who needs Tarja or Annette, when you have Floor?

This isn't telling us anything we don't already know, there's no chance of Tarja ever coming back. They've got a fine replacement now with Floor Jansen. She has the vocal range to cover both the Tarja and Anette material very well. Hopefully she stays.

They never said Floor was an official member did they? Thought she was just a fill in for the tour.

As true as that is, once they play a few shows together, they will realize they can't afford to let her go.

No, she's not a member yet. Over on Nightwish's official fan forum someone said Floor gave an interview to some Dutch radio station and she said that the plan was for her to come in an replace Anette after Nightwish recorded their live DVD next month in Finalnd. Hmmm, singer getting axed after recording a live DVD? does anyone else see a pattern here?;)

Anyways, Floor had known since the summer that this would be happening so that's why she was able to step in and know all the material right away. She was only supposed to fill in as the singer for their South American, Australian and New Zeland dates. For some reason she got called up earlier.
