Hard rock stalwarts the Deftones have announced the release of their seventh studio album, Koi No Yokan, due out November 13th via Reprise Records. Recording took place in Los Angeles with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who also helmed 2010′s Diamond Eyes.

A tracklist is still forthcoming, but the band recently debuted two new songs in concert, including “Roller Derby” and “Rosemary”. And speaking of concerts, they’ve also announced a new string of North American tour dates in support of the album’s release. You can watch fan footage of the two new songs and see the Deftones’ upcoming tour schedule below.

In an interview with Billboard last month, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno described the album as “not a super fast or slow record. It’s very dynamic.” He added: “Some of my favorite things about Deftones are the dynamics. Yes, we’re a heavy band, but we’re not just in-your-face aggro the whole time, punching you in the face. There’s a lot of aggression in some of the music, but there’s also this very soothing element where there’s a lot of soundscapes rather than attack, attack, attack the whole time. I understand that’s a big part of our sound, but I really feel like we reached a peak on our dynamics on this record with those two qualities — the beauty of something and just straight, ruthless aggression.”

glad I decided to search instead of just posting, since I overlooked this thread.

Anyway, I'm highly impressed with the new song. And I hate most of what they've put out.

You can listen to it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPO81Fz4s2g&feature=player_embedded) if you don't want to download it.

Leathers is fucking awesome. This is a surefire top 10 album if the rest of its as good as this.

I do think I prefer Leathers over the first 2 live versions of the other new songs. But it's kinda tough hearing a song live for the first time instead of hearing the studio version. Either way I have a good feeling for this album too, Diamond Eyes was one of the best things Deftones have ever done.

Seriously dude? This isn't that different from their other stuff.

Anyways I'm in fucking love of this song, AOTY for me, but then again I'm just a Deftones fanboy :D

I am definitely digging the 2 new songs. Both different from each other and having an ethereal, space-y type of vibe. Definitely gonna be one of my fav albums of the year hands down.

I'm not feeling the cover art, it looks like an album from the 70s. I prefer the the leathers single cover way more.

Cover is definitely different, I like it still. Not as beautiful as Diamond Eyes, but still cool. The two songs are fucking wonderful though

Love the two new songs. As for the cover, no clue what it is but I dig it.
Can't wait for the Boston show, these guys kill it live.
