(Update: More detailed Review + photos (http://heavymetalcowboysteve.blogspot.com/2012/09/kreator-howard-theater-september-5th.html))
Got there for like last 4 songs of Swallow the Sun. Accept came on 8:27-9:46. Kreator came on 10:36 and played until midnight (according to a friend). We had to leave at 11:30 to catch metro home, so there are like 30 minutes more of Kreator that I don't know what they played. First night of the tour so some...delays were expected. But it sucks cause of having to miss part of Kreator.

Howard Theatre was very nice. A little more expensive for drinks, but very nice inside w/ 2 screens on each side of the stage, and VERY CLEAN.

Crowd was pretty decent, a little over 100 people. All bands had Shirts that were $20. Kreator and Accept had CDs. Accept had a photo program!!! I could not believe it. I got 2 shirts for friends. Moshing broke out on 'Fast as a Shark' but was a 'polite pit.' This continued for part of 'Balls to the Wall.' The REAL moshing began when Kreator rolled out \m/

Swallow the Sun was on when we got there. Heard like 4 songs from them. No clue as to what they were.
Accept sounded GREAT and they were full of energy. No complaints!
Kreator was good, but a little muddy in the vox. Guitars and drums were damn heavy.

I am (apparently) a huge Accept fan, and I was soaked thru with sweat after their long set :3 Kreator sounded good too, but I was less familiar with their songs. So if anyone has any updates please let me know :3

While I wasn't there, I'm 99% certain Pleasure To Kill and Tormentor were played at this show.

I was there last night as well. Here is the full Kreator set:

Mars Mantra (Recorded intro)
Phantom Antichrist
From Flood Into Fire
Enemy of God
Phobia
Hordes of Chaos (A Necrologue For The Elite)
Civilisation Collapse
United in Hate
Voices of the Dead (I'm not 100% certain on this one, I left the floor but I think I heard it)
Extreme Aggression
People of the Lie w/Coma of Souls intro (full Coma of Souls song was not played, only the intro portion)
Death To The World
Endless Pain
Pleasure To Kill
Violent Revolution
Flag of Hate
Tormentor

Kreator was good, but it was a completely underwhelming setlist. I'm waiting for the "all title tracks" tour. Nothing at all from Terrible Certainty was very disappointing. It was also my first time seeing Accept and they were GREAT. I enjoyed them much more than I did Kreator.

Man it's basicly the same set from the 2010 tour with a couple new songs. Glad I'm not going saturday.

I'm going to this show tonight in Philly! Can't wait! I've been an Accept fan for over 25 years. Not too familiar with Kreator but are they really headlining over Accept? Are they really that popular? I might check out a few songs by them but it looks like it may actually be an early night for me.

Well, that sucks. Apparently Accept has something better to do, so they aren't playing the Atlanta date (although they are playing New Orleans the night before and Charlotte the day after...). Basically I'd just be going to see Kreator play some new stuff, because I've heard all those other tunes time and time again.

Thanks for the post.

It was more than 100 people, but it was a disappointing turnout for sure. And as the OP pointed out the show ran late so by the end of Kreator a lot of people had left to catch the metro. I swear I think some people left after Accept as well. It was my first time at the Howard Theater and man that place is nice. It felt like I should be watching opera or something.

I uploaded a couple of videos I took.

thanks for the completion of the set for Kreator!

Yeah I mean over 100 people, but not more than 130 I think.

I dunno, some bands draw more than others. I really don't know what to expect for some of these guys :(

Does anyone know if Accept and Kreator are swapping slots or is Accept opening all the shows?

Wow. Would've thought at least a 500 attendance for this one. Guess the Germans aren't popular.

Accept without UDO is a band with a good singer.

Fixed that for ya.

Aw man, I'm really not too happy with these sets. Accept playing Hung Drawn and Quartered and Shadow Soldiers is sick, but the songs from the other albums are way too obvious. And why would they play Pandemic and Bucket Full of Hate? BOTN has so many cooler songs on it, including ones that they've played before.

I love Phantom Antichrist so I'm stoked for the new songs, but in Europe they were playing Terrorzone and Betrayer. I want Terrorzone dammit! I've seen all the other songs as well already.

Hopefully both bands change up the sets a little bit throughout the tour, otherwise this show might end up being only kind of cool when it could have been amazing

This. Tornillo is one of my favorite metal voices right now, and is frankly worlds better than Udo. And theit last 2 albums kick serious amounts of ass.

Having seen Accept on their tour (Which was cool)... I'm very disappointed with their set.

Same songs (except the new ones obviously).

Drop "Losers", "Breaker", "Up". Just change it up.

Once again hoping for "Love child", "London Leatherboys", "Midnight Mover", "Head Over Heels".

That is an OK Kreator set. I'd love to see "From Flood Into Fire" live, but I am recording the day of the show and not sure how much energy I'll have left :(

If I could swap 2 songs from each band on these sets to make them even better:

Shadow Soldiers & Pandemic for Love Child & The Abyss

and

for Kreator I like pretty much everything on that set maybe drop one new song between Civilisation Collapse or United in Hate for Betrayer

can't wait for monday !

Cheers !

That Kreator set is pretty Meh(with a few exceptions), and why the fuck are they not playing Coma of souls in its entirety? shit, I'm glad I saw Kreator back in 2009 with Exodus. That was when they were playing "RIOT OF VIOLENCE" in the set(and through out the entire tour, including coma of souls in full), which was the best thing about that entire show, and fucking set.. I will definitely be skipping out on this tour.

Neither set is particularly interesting, but as someone who hasn't seen either band I am still really excited. :D Given that I find the money to go...

Just saw them a couple hours ago in Philly and Kreator closed the show. I think their stage set up makes it nearly impossible for them to play before Accept. But both bands play about 80 minutes each. I was gonna leave after Accept but stuck around for Kreator and I'm glad I did. They were great!

Yeah, this.

Although judging by the sets, I think I might actually be more excited to see Accept.

not a Mark T fan? Have you LISTENED to the new albums? SOLID METAL.

I'm glad Accept did not play last (but basically played a headlining set) due to metro issues

Well, they haven't played that in YEARS, from what I know.

Only complaint about Kreator set is lack of Betrayer. Oh well, I've seen it before (though only once, out of the 2 shows I've been to so far). Oh well, can't wait for the show tonight.

Yeah, the fact I won't get to see Betrayer live kinda bums me..
