The Pimp Rock Palace reports this tour to be rumored. Sounds legitimate and looks like more fun than the LoG tour. Machine Head, Dethklok & AtR? Not bad at all imo.

You forgot to mention The Black Dalia Murder, you don't wanna offend the fans boys now, do we... ;) ;)

I haven't seen Dethklok yet so they would be fun to see. MH and TBDM ive seen plenty each but willing to see again. I use to enjoy ATR many years ago, but dont see how theyd fit into this package now. I mean Dahlia with "What A Horrible Night To Have A Curse" followed by ATR's "2 Weeks"?! I guess the tour must need an odd band out. Either way cant complain. Show sounds like fun.

Dethklok is easily the weak link for me personally, although they are still pretty good. Machine Head and Black Dahlia are the main draws for me. How they would bill this would probably be kind of weird though. Clearly Dahlia would be opening and ATR would probably be headlining, but I have no clue who will second to last between Dethklok and Machine Head.

Ughhh this sounds amazing, but considering ATR and MH are playing the Halloween shows in FL next month, I'm sure this is highly unlikely to come to FL. Which sucks, because now I'll miss Dethklok.

Just speculation, but perhaps this will start at the very end of October/beginning of November? I could see MH and ATR playing the Halloween shows, then starting the tour with Dethklok in ATL right after. Which I know I'm gonna end up considering the 7 our drive for (probably not though).

Glad you said it, I didn't want to be the first to say I'm indifferent to Dethklok. I guess maybe I haven't given them enough of a chance. I feel that Dethklok would headline, at least cause they would have the biggest production. But based on theis lineup, I'm gonna give a 99% chance of me passing, especially cause I've seen all bands except Dethklok in the past year or so, ATR and BDM headlining.

I must be the only person who thinks the original Dethklok/LoG/Gojira tour is better than this and the new LoG one. Oh well, I got to see Gojira headline, and I've seen LoG 5 times. Looks like I may never see Dethklok(I have no desire to see them unless there's good openers I actually like).

Nickweiser
09-06-2012, 10:21 AM
the LOG/Dethklok tour sounded great on paper. But when headline sets are cut cause its a "co-headline" bill, then its not so much fun.

Haven't seen Gojira since November of 2008. Need to fix ASAP

detuned
09-06-2012, 10:32 AM
cant imagine either LOG or dethklok's set lengths are going to be drastically longer going from co-headlining a 3 band package to outright headlining 4

i figured 70ish each for the co-headline, id be surprised if either did more than 80 on the new tours. 40ish each for MH and ATR. 20ish for BDM.

Nickweiser
09-06-2012, 10:38 AM
Log usually do hour and 15 to 20 on their own headliners. Co headline woulda probably made that shit like an hour. So 3 to 4 song difference. For me im the guy that wants more more.

Haven't seen Dethklok yet so dont know how long they play but LoG are good at playin the long sets.

I would agree if I enjoyed LOG's Sacrement, Wrath, and Resolution. And Gojira is awesome who I haven't seen yet. But I dig this package, really enjoy MH's new stuff and TBDM is one of the best live bands out there. ATR is okay, would be much better if they just stuck to Pre Overcome stuff.

Yeah they've all headlined tours with decent-sized bands within the last two or three years.

BDM did Summer Slaughter
ATR did one two years ago with Asking Alexandria supporting
Machine Head did one this year I believe with Suicide Silence and Darkest Hour
And Dethklok did the co-headliner with Mastodon

LoG's pretty much has all headliners too, with the exception of Sylosis.

Dethklok does bigger venues than all three, they headlined Mayhem last year here in Cali. Plus just look at these bands slots at Mayhem Fest that will give you a good idea of where the bands stand although I'm positive BDM is more popular than ATR and possibly MH.

To me It will be something like this, as much as I hate to see it:

Either All That Remains or Dethklok headlining
Machine Head playing second
BDM playing first

ATR is the biggest band of all 4 listed because they are very commercial and mainstream loved. Dethklok has Adult Swim, which could lead them to possibly headling with ATR is ok with it.

As fucking awesome as Machine Head is, they don't have the fanbase in the states that both bands do.

BDM is probably get a 25-40 minutes time slot. And they will put out one of the most brutal sets ever.

In Euproe, yes Machine Head Are gods and All That Remains are pretty mucha ny other metal band.

In the States, but it this way. All that Remains last played at The Myth which is the biggest MN music venue besides the Target center and Excel Center where sports are also held.

Machine Head headlined at Station 4 in January, the most popular but very small Metal venue in MN, and it didn't even come close to selling out.

ATR are media darlings thanks to Two Weeks, and whatever their second single was off their last album *I don't remember the name, the one that starts and ends acoustically).

I saw JFAC twice, and though I don't really like the music at all I thought they played very well and had great presence, so the first two replies on this page aren't really surprising.

And regardless of the "who's more popular/deserving" arguments, I can't see any of these bands following Dethklok onstage because of the show they put on.

When it comes to metal Nashville is a C level market. Country, Blues, Pop, Classic Rock it gets alot of shows. Its a B level city for radio rock. Metal never has done well there except for Pantera, Ozzfest, Metallica, etc. Iron Maiden haven't play there since the original Powerslave tour in 95. OUCH!!!

YESSS! I figured this wouldn't come to FL because of Halloweenie Roast, but I was wrong! So glad I still get to see Dethklok and Lamb of God, but instead of just Gojira, I get In Flames, Hatebreed, Sylosis, All That Remains, and Black Dahlia Murder too.

Only (potential) bummer is that Machine Head isn't listed on the HOB date on either Live Nation or the HOB website. Not a huge deal since they'll be in FL just a month beforehand, but I'd much rather see them in an intimate venue than at a radio festival. Plus, ATR seems to be doing both, so why not MH? Maybe it will change though, we'll see.

My dad and I have seen MH twice now and they do absolutely nothing for us. To us, they just sound like a bunch of loud noise and racket that goes nowhere. We're not very big Dethklok fans either and it's not worth it to go see a short set from ATR and leave. It is at least nice to see another show at Myth, our most favorite nightclub here.

Surprised at this - I always consider MH to be one of those bands most metalheads can at least tolerate. They put on a great show the two times I have seen them (granted one was Mayhem fest so a short set).

Do you like TBDM? If you like them the slightest on album I highly recommend checking them out live.

I saw them at Sounds Of The Underground in 2006 and Knotfest this year. And compared to other similar bands I've seen live such as As I Lay Dying, ATR, and In Flames, MH is in fact racket that goes nowhere. That's just how they sound to me.

But seriously though, it's quite hilarious that they would ban Machine Head and not Black Dahlia. They are MUCH worse with lyrics and imagery, and their fans are much crazier (at least judging by how I've seen crowds react to BDM as opposed to Machine Head). Not to mention Dethklok has a song called "I Ejaculate Fire", and they probably have worse offenses than that...

Mega-pissed about the whole MH/Disney conflict, considering that it only affects the date on the tour that I'm attending. This makes three times I've been prevented from seeing MH. First was in Mayhem 08, where they played at the same time as Dragonforce (cut me some slack, I hadn't heard of them at the time). Then I had to miss them at Mayhem 11 since I was backstage meeting Megadeth (which I totally don't regret, but still). Now this is happening, and for a stupid reason. At least I saw them with Zombie/Manson a week and a half ago, but I was in a far-away seat and their set was only four songs. Not even counting how MH never brings their headlining tours to Florida. Also, their Orlando date with Zombie/Manson was cancelled due to weather, which means that Orlando went from having two MH shows to none.

I know I'm complaining a lot, but I just feel like every chance I've had to 'truly' see them has been robbed from me. Hopefully they'll come to Orlando (or Tampa) on their next headliner.

Since I couldn't get any interviews from the Dethklok tour, this was a no brainer. Spend 50 some bucks in gas and ticket(s) to a venue I don't like, Or spend 15 total to support my local scene and see Deicide for the first time.
