Places like Denver are on mountain, but mostly it's a big swath of nothingness.

That's what I figured. I guessed that I've heard of the other three because there are actually places there.

Mountain Time should be that moment in a song when Corky Laing jumps up and does a jig.

 I miss that guy.

On an unrelated note, OFWGKTA fanboys have to be some of the dumbest people on the internet. The top comment on the new Earl Sweatshirt single said something about how people should stop saying Earl and Frank Ocean are the only talented members of the collective because they're all talented and I responded saying the background guys like Jasper and Taco are not talented at all. Within one day my inbox blew up with almost twenty replies in defense of 2 clowns who do nothing but yell swag in the background of posse tracks.

No I haven't actually. The best thing I saw was the MSNBC clip from outside of the Democratic National Convention (i think) of this lady yelling "He's a communist" and then she argues with the reporter to "study it out" if he doesn't think so. God awful. Just as bad, is there is the one kid I went to high school with just posts shares posts from this Republican conspiracy theory page where every post is about Obama is a socialist or was responsible for the Libya attacks etc. Shit is completely out of hand.

Kentucky and West Virginia are going to Romney (despite the fact that WV is usually a Democratic state) based on the fact that the coal industry is massive there and Romney is perceived as having a much stronger pro-coal stance.

So what does that entail? Anyone can smoke wherever smoking is normally permitted? Or are there strings?

No, you won't be able to smoke in public. Here is the basic information on it:

• I-502 legalizes the possession of marijuana for adults age 21 and older.

• Selling marijuana to minors will remain a felony.

• Washington farmers and businesses will be allowed to apply for special licenses to grow and sell marijuana.

• Marijuana will only be available in stores that sell no other products, are located at least 1,000 feet from schools, playgrounds, and parks, and do not display marijuana in a way that is visible to the public.

• State employees will not be involved in growing, distributing, or selling marijuana.

• State agencies will regulate numbers of stores per county, operating hours, security, quality control, labeling, and other health and safety issues.

• I-502 tightly restricts advertising and bans advertising in places frequented by youth.

• New tax revenue is dedicated to proven community and school-based prevention programs.

• Prohibits public use and display of marijuana.

• Does not allow home growing for people who are not medical marijuana patients.

• According to the state Office of Financial Management, a new 25% marijuana excise tax, combined with retail sales and B&O tax, will generate more than half a billion dollars in new revenue each year.

• 40% of the new revenues will go to the state general fund and local budgets.

• 60% will be dedicated to substance-abuse prevention, research, education and health care.

• A new marijuana DUI standard that operates like the alcohol DUI standard will be established.

• I-502 sets a science-based limit of 5ng/ml active THC blood concentration.

• DUI standard applies only to active THC, which drops below 5 ng/mL within a matter of hours, not the inactive metabolite carboxy-THC that can be detected days, or even weeks, after last use.

• Police officers still need proof of impairment to make an arrest and take a driver to a medical professional for a blood draw – just like current law.

• I-502 does not change Washington's medical marijuana law – patients still may grow their own marijuana.

• Patients will finally receive protection from arrest because possession will no longer be a crime for anyone 21 or older.

• Patients will finally receive access to safe, secure, reliable, and quality-controlled marijuana that has been grown locally.

That does really suck. There is a law in Massachusetts that retail stores can't be open on Thanksgiving. Since clearly Wal-Mart, Target, etc can't legally open till midnight on Black Friday, that 8pm Thanksgiving sale shit doesn't happen here which I think is great (so at least the crazed Black Friday shoppers aren't tackling/beating the shit out of each other on Thanksgiving, cause you know Massachusetts has a reputation for decency and being kind to one another ;)

Yeah from what I understand Thanksgiving and Black Friday is pretty much just a riot nonstop. People fighting, fucking, and offering money to let you in.

I dont like my job / get paid enough to take shit though so it'll suck for sure.

Also from the looks of it I will not be having a real Thanksgiving day dinner. My family is still going to a huge family dinner and since I work my grandma said she'd stay home, take me to dinner, then take to the 8pm walmart sale to get some cheap ass games.

I'm not a huge fan of either of the bands you talked about, but Lovecraft had a very cyclical view of history - civilizations are born by crushing and conquering other civilizations, they flourish, then deteriorate. This was a pretty prominent theme in The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Ironically he greatly admired both Ancient Egypt, which was founded on unification instead of conquest, and the Roman Empire, which conquered Ancient Egypt. Which Morbid Angel lyricized about on Blessed Are The Sick if I remember right.

As someone who's worked some retail in the past I can tell you that when it comes to black friday or the whole Thanksgiving weekend for that matter, you being unavailable doesn't mean shit unless you're out of town. On black friday everybody on the payroll is scheduled to work unless it's impossible for them to be there. I know that the shift starts on thursday but technically i'm sure they're counting it as black friday shift so you're screwed. What do you need off on thursdays for anyway? Maybe they know you won't be doing it that day because of the holiday so they put you on.

The schedule can get fucked up a bit from black friday through new years day, so keep on checking it. Retailers need all the help they can get this time of year so I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the last time the shcedule gets messed up.

My one story about working on Black Friday is that I used to work in a luggage store in a mall and I was going to come in a few hours after they opened and leave a few hours before closing - kinda so the early people could leave and there would still be someone in the store.

That Friday, I was driving up to the store and they called me to tell me literally no one had come into the store up to that point so I didn't have to come in.

You are 100% correct. I walked past the stage they were playing at Warped Tour and it was PACKED. There was at least 2,500 people watching them, only bands that I saw more for was All Time Low and Four Year Strong.

I did that too and it was possibly the worst thirty seconds I've ever had at a concert.

So apparently Sleeping With Sirens sold out the HOB tonight. I didn't know they were even close to being that big.

I guess I will give away one of my dark secrets. I went to see Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce the Veil. Before you judge me, I went with a friend (who is a girl, btw) and I by no means enjoy those bands or that entire style. But, the place it was at was as packed as I have ever seen it, and I have probably been to over 20 shows there. It sold out way in advance, and shows never sell out there, never mind in advance weeks before the show. Probably as out of place as I have ever felt :eyes: I can say it sure as hell felt good to be back in my element seeing Cattle Decapitation and Suffocation this week :D

Glass Cloud was insane (the one song I saw)
boring band
Like Moths To Flames were good and their bassest was funny as hell.
The Ghost Inside had the best crowd. Fucking violent as all hell but the crowd was singing louder than band sometimes.
Miss May I was good but alot calmer. Alot more jumping than moshing.

I told him no the door on the other side was open and I had to close this one and that's when he told me I should be lucky he doesn't beat my ass. My reply to him was "ok I'll be in the parking lot in a minute if you want to meet me there."

People also began hiding in the store about 8am for the 8pm deals and other were opening the shrink wrapped displays trying to buy stuff then complaining how they wouldn't ring up yet even though sales hadn't begun.

I also watched a woman yell at management and a cashier because Walmart would not accept her Target gift card.

I just bought Borderlands 2, Batman: Arkham City, Max Payne, and a fuckload of batteries for 35 bucks!

Wish I had the patience (and courage :eyes:) to go to Walmart on Black Friday :(

This kind of thing doesn't happen in the UK...

Unless of a) there's a new Apple product of ANY kind, b) there's a new Harry Potter book, c) there's a new version of Windows, d) Millwall are playing

Or Justin Bieber is playing but that's everywhere. Dublin was swarmed with young girls once because there was a rumor he was in a hotel in the city center, it became a pretty serious risk after the first hour!

It could have been worse, but I didn't expect that so many people needed car parts.... WE DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY SALES!!!!

Time to go to the local CD shop to splurge on some CD's before band practice :light:

We were over capacity all day and it was like 20 degrees outside. Only good part was that I stayed inside a lot of the day doing nothing and did mainly carry outs. Made $20 from tips that Walmart says I'm not allowed to take.

If you do take those be very careful that you don't get caught and don't say anything to your co-workers. Unless you're good at bullshitting yourself out of situations, you probably would get fired if the your bosses found out. If you're a holiday hire though, you may as well go for it since your ass will be out the door after new years anways.

I'm not holiday hire and all the other cart guys know because they accept the tips too. We have a inside rule of where and when we can take it. You cant do it inside the store and if for some reason we are right infront of the store we tell the customer we cant take it because of cameras and they usually slip it in our back pocket as we turn around.

Other wise if we are far out in the lot then no one can see anyway.

That's fine as long as you trust your co-workers. I worked at Target for four years and there was always a rat somewhere blowing people in for shit. Sure, they would act like your friend, but as soon as you weren't around they would be talking shit about you to the bosses:mad:

The cartguys that know about this I've worked with long enough to trust them. Plus they've accepted the tips with me. They generally hate the managers too plus one cart guy said if anyone ever rats on someone else he'd beat the shit outta them in the parking lot. I believe him too since he's a fucking gang member.

11-24-2012, 04:31 AM
Well, I was working at a different store that I occasionally fill in at. I get there and notice there's a bunch of guys in the company uniform that I've never seen before and they're all on their phones and in and out of the office. I go about my business for awhile and I hear one of the managers voices in the office so I assume he's in there doing paperwork or whatever. The other employees and managers are out on the floor but acting weird so I'm just thinking whatever.

Then two police officers come in, ask "Where is he?", and go into the office. A few minutes later I hear them reading him his rights and a few minutes after that they take him away in handcuffs. Once they left I tried to eavesdrop a bit and it turns out the company guys are from loss prevention and I hear the word steal a few times so I'm assuming he was stealing money from the company.

Interesting day.

Thanks guys, I really needed those vibes. We are still trying to figure out if it was accidental or suicidal *both are apparently possible in this situation*

It was a Oxycontin overdose. He was in the military for almost 2 years and was about to be sent home in a couple months.

If you don't see me much on here in the next week or so it is because I will be helping plan his funeral.

thanks again guys. The only thing I know right now is that he will be cremated and the funeral will be either late next this week or next week, depending on when the Military will ship him back here.

Supposedly tomorrow we will find out if it was accidental or not.....

Next year is going to be such a great year for doom.

Obviously the final Cathedral album, new Pentagram, and the next full-length Orchid are on the cards, but Soulseller Records have just announced a full-length split album for Devil and new band The Sabbathian (Jess from Jess And The Ancient Ones on vocals, with Chad Davis from Hour of 13), and Candlelight have just signed Demon Lung for their debut album :D

Should be about time for various other great bands to do their next albums too. Ancient VVisdom for one.

I'm doing fine in all my classes atm except Philosophy. My teacher is a snore and doesn't explain the material well at all. Hopefully I don't fail, but if I do, at least it's not required. I've got a little over a week of class and only one final I have to go in for, so the next 11 days are going to mostly consist of me doing a shitload of papers and final projects (Which I'm cool with because I normally blow it on cumulative finals).

Lagrangian and Hamiltonian dynamics are really easy! It takes Newton's Laws of motion and makes it way fucking easy. For instance, if you wanted the equation of motion for an object using Newton's Laws, you would have to figure out all the different types of forces acting upon the object, which could be a LOT, and then create the Differential Equation for it. For Lagrangian dynamics, you just find the Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy of an object, then subtract the potential from the kinetic and take a derivative of that equation with respect to whats moving and also a derivative of the equation with respect to the time derivative of whats moving and set them equal to each other. It create the same Differential Equation that Newton's Laws would have given you, just a lot easier.

Also, I'm just a physics major, but its close enough haha
