That's too bad. I guess they can't all be zingers.
Did I ever mention on here that Brent Hinds was walking through the lobby of The Warfield after a Mastodon headlining show and in total shock I just said "DUDE" and held up my hand to give him a high five, and he was on his cell phone, kept walking and said "fuck you".
I was 16.
Mastodon was my favorite band.
Brent was my favorite guitar player.
Dang that sucks. I met Sid Wilson at Mayhem (I got in 15 minutes early). I was like "hey sid could you sign my cd". He said nope and got on his little bike he had and rode off. Slipknots my favorite band too lol. It sucked

Just got back from seeing Windhand. Good show, but the vocals were WAY too low. The sound guy said they couldn't go any higher, yet the vocals were still so quiet. That was kind of a bummer, but the band still sounded great.

Finally got my deluxe box set of the new Sabbath (had it sent to my parents as I knew it would arrive while I was in Sweden).

It's a very nice package. Although the "hand written lyrics" part was completely mis-sold. You don't get hand written lyrics. You get printed replications of hand written lyrics, pointlessly printed on the backs of the photos included in the box.

I don't chat in here much. I guess I tell a little about myself. I'm 38 and I still live at home with my parents and I don't drive because I tried a couple different times to get my license and just had a really hard time with it. The main reason I live at home is because I have a brother named Ben who has severe autism and can't talk and my parents really need my help to take care of him. He's going to be 20 in August and can be quite a handful at times. Plus, we all get paid through waivered services for taking care of him so that's a nice advantage. Sadly, I don't get out hardly ever, but at least my dad and I are able to make it to a few concerts (http://fonzbear2000.blogspot.com/). We've been to all of those together from Rush in 2002 and up except for Rockfest and Scorpions which my mom and I went to. Lots of great times for sure! :)

Here's his latest retardation: "What our "leader" meant by "TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION" is "seeing through into everything we do". Drones, phones & our homes..."

Got my wisdom teeth pulled today and holy fuck, shit hurts!

Yeah it does.

And story time, since I gotta get this out of my system.

Quit my restaurant job to get a job pertaining to my marketing degree. I was supposed to be a project coordinator at a flooring company, but I guess I did something wrong because after 2 weeks I was told that no one in the office can see themselves working with me and that I'm not a good fit for the company, so I essentially got fired. I have no idea what I did, I even asked the owner (who told me this) and he said he didn't know the full details. It probably had to do with how I wasn't catching on as quick, seeing as how they had me observe other workers in every area of the building rather than giving me hands on experience with what I'm actually supposed to be working with. So he's either lying or everyone at that place is just sick in the head or stupid like that. Either way I wasn't enjoying that job at all and I'm glad I'm not there anymore.

Lucky for me, I had applied to a bunch of places the night before and had emails from 2 different companies requesting for an interview. Just had both of them today and I got the 2nd interview for one of them, and waiting to hear back about the other one, which I think went fine. I just hope everything works out. I'm just paranoid because of the shitty training the flooring company had, but they were so disorganized there it was almost unbelievable. Worst comes to worst, I can get my restaurant job back if needed.

EDIT: Got the 2nd interview for the other job! Gonna be a busy day tomorrow for sure, but worth it.

Sometimes one of those three works, but it's always a different one!

Went with my lady to a big BBQ that her friends throw every year. Was a fun time, espcially since there was a music room at their house with a drumset, so we were all jamming on some stuff. A good friend of mine who i've known for years and jammed with a little bit was there as well, so we did some Pantera, Iron Maiden, other stuff, good times.

We had some other people at the BBQ join in on Bass and second guitar and did a freestyle Blues jam and an extended cover of the Nuge's classic, "Stranglehold". My girlfriend said she uploaded a short cell phone video of us jamming on Facebook, so it may be tagged on my page (I rarely go online [at work right now, can't access FB], so I dunno :D ). Gooooood times!

Congrats man! Hope it turns out well!

I just realized how man "Vegan" people we have in the Seattle Metal scene. I am totally cool with people who choose to be vegan for health or moral reasons, but a majority of them seem to just be doing it as a fad in order to be "cool" and "hip", I'll stick with meat and stay true to myself :)

Might have a fricken amazing band rolling through Trakworx soon. Can't wait to share more details as they come in, but this might end up being one of the coolest things I'll ever be involved with if I don't end up being an audio engineer for a living. We've done and will be working on some really amazing records, but this one might have the broadest appeal out of all the hard rock/metal albums we've done. I'm honestly so beyond stoked to share this with you all when I can, I think at least a couple of you will dig it anyway.

Thanks guys. The owner of the site said I basically had the gig in the bag after he heard this week's show and that I fit in perfectly. Just waiting to hear confirmation.

If all goes right, I would be doing it possibly every day live and make it more of a morning show type atmosphere instead of just announcing the songs and what song I just played, like I gotta do on FM.

Cattle was fun last night. So my two friends and I got in during the second to last local before Cattle. Saw Travis hanging at the bar and my friend and I talked to him for a little bit. Good times.

So on Saturday I saw my friends' pizzagrind band, Special Delivery (https://www.facebook.com/specialdeliveryrockers?fref=ts), and probably had the most fun I've ever had at a show. They played in a park at a fest organized by a local band and since they're a pizza themed band, it was pretty much decided that there needed to be a pizza fight in the pit. Before the set we ended up with about 30 frozen pizzas (https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/995699_584430474942593_1316116738_n.jpg) (thawed) and five Little Caesar's pizzas. What happened next was 12 minutes of pure (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkrVHlyIFvk) chaos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au8DFXfF08w). Yeah, yeah, my friend sucks at taking videos. Most of us brought changes of clothes which came in handy since everyone was covered in sauce and cheese by the end of it. Also, the best pizza thrower got the prize of a DVD of Elf that actually had an Eminem CD in it.

tl;dr PIZZA!

Interesting.

London ended up being 40 after fees, which for a band AIC's size is quite ridiculous. I had put it down to the venue they're playing (Alexandra Palace, not cheap), but looks like they're inflating their prices everywhere.

In the end..There was no need to take the life of a 17 year old kid :hmm:

Yeah, yea, yeah, they went through a bazzilion hours of people taking stands, eyewitnesses, audio tapes, video tapes, people taking stands including neighbors of zimmerman who witnessed the fight, and people who saw what happen, but i still think it's bullshit what he did. It sucks that trayvon martin had to start that fight, but in the end zimmerman could have just MANNED IT UP and threw down his fisticuffs for a good ol' fashion ass wipping, or ran for help, hell call out neighbors to call the cops. There really wasn't any need for him to fucking kill a little 17 year old kid. But i guess it's OK since florida has that "stand your ground" shindig going on.

Good for him that he is not guilty, but goddamn he is officially a dead man walking. I can't imagine how the black community is going to react to this. :hecho:

Well more than anything I want to know if it's actually going to reach more people, or just get mired in a stream of shit and no one will see it (like Twitter).

The actual photo sharing functionality I don't really care about, I have a website for that.

Unrelated question for Americans: do places that stock music magazines over there stock back issues, or do they just send everything back to the publisher once a new one comes out?

I want an old-ish issue of Decibel (the one with the Cathedral flexi), but shipping them here costs a fortune, and since I'll be in the US in September for a short time, is it worth trying to track a copy down or will I be wasting my time?

The average bookstore won't have back issues, but a good record shop might. However; the issues of Decibel on the newsstand do not include the flexi, those only come with subscriptions, if that's what you're after.

I work at a chain store and with the magazines we sell we send the old stock back when we put out the new issues.

I took my mom to them last year for the KISS coheadliner because my mom hadn't seen Crue since like 1984 and after the concert my mom goes :

We're playing in my friend's house next Saturday and it's going to be crazier than our last show, which is certainly saying something.
