I found out Manson was headlining the Sunset Music Fest this year and got super excited, then found out it was on my girlfriend's birthday. Even though she likes Manson, she wanted to do something else, so I missed the show. After seeing the setlist, I'm kind of glad I missed it. It would have been cool to see the Doors covers but it still bothers me that a third of his set were covers.

Hey, Cruel World...
Disposable Teens
The Love Song
No Reflection
mOBSCENE
The Dope Show
Rock Is Dead
Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode cover)
Pistol Whipped
Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics cover)
People Are Strange (The Doors cover)
Love Me Two Times (The Doors cover)
Five to One (The Doors cover)
Antichrist Superstar
The Beautiful People

Bad Religion also played. I would have been happy seeing this set.

Los Angeles Is Burning
Social Suicide
21st Century (Digital Boy)
Wrong Way Kids
Anastesia
You
You Are (The Government)
Before You Die
Recipe For Hate
Do What You Want
We're Only Gonna Die
Suffer
A Walk
New Dark Ages
Generator
I Want to Conquer the World
Sanity
The Defense
No Control
Sorrow
American Jesus
Fuck Armageddon
Infected

That's a fairly crappy Manson set. Why does he do so many Doors covers!?

Because there was a Doors celebration there with a few of the original members.

I think he should have dropped Personal Jesus.

I think he should have dropped Personal Jesus.

I think he never should have recorded it.

...Honestly, I would have gone just for the Doors songs and ACSS.

The theme of the festival this year was to pay tribute to The Doors. Every year they honor a different artist/band that had an impact on The Sunset Strip.

Here's the performance of 'Five to One' feat. Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger...

The Doors definitely deserve their tribute and all, but its weird at the same time. The first year the tribute was to Ozzy, so Ozzy did a set. The next year was for Smashing Pumpkins, so they headlined. Last year was for Motley Crue, so they headlined.

I don't know why they didn't just have The Doors play with the lineup they've been using.

Last year was fun but opted for Reverend Horton Heat at Pershing Square this year.

I heard they played a free show that night. How was it? Did they play the same set they have been doing for 20 years? haha

That makes sense now, I thought he had really gone off the deep end and decided to just fill out the set with random covers

His performance looks pretty good, would have been a cool novelty!
