11/14 Grog Shop - Cleveland, OH w/ Eagle Twin, StebmoColor me interested.

FYI, the new album by Eagle Twin isn't too bad. They're a duo, like Black Cobra - but unlike that band, they have a ways to go before they're full-on awesome. Not bad for just two guys with a guitar, drums and amps cranking out some sludge, though.

I think Eagle Twin was the band that opened for Sunn O))) last time they did a big tour.

But yeah, I haven't heard a ton of Earth but I know they'd be a great show.

Also, it'd be neat seeing a band that featured Kurt Cobain in their ranks at one point!

Fuck yeah! This totally makes up for Sunn O))) not coming around!

Also for Chicago people, the Friday date is 21+, Saturday is 18+ although its the same day as Red Fang/Black Tusk. Hmm, decisions.

Motherfucker.

I'm pretty sure that I'm definitely gonna go to Red Fang.

I saw Earth this past March in Barcelona tripping balls from about a snot-rockets distance away from Dylan Carlson and the rest of the band. Truly a sublime experience.

Earth is an incredible band, and it kills me that I probably will not make it to any of these tour dates. Eagle Twin opening is pretty dope. I saw Earth open with the one man band Mount Eerie and I thought he sucked.

Go see EARTH!!!!

Never heard anything from this band, but I've heard some good stuff about them. I could probably make the Orlando show if I wanted. What's a good place to start with listening to them?

I'd say try either Pentastar or The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull. They will probably mostly only play Bees and newer material live.

The band underwent a major stylistic shift midway through their career. Everything from the beginning to Phase 3: Thrones and Dominions is drone doom, some of the best in the genre. Pentastar is droning, minimalist stoner rock. Everything since is still drone, but the metal is pretty much gone. All the guitars are clean, lots of folk instruments are used, and there is a heavy country influence. I'd check out Hex:Printing in the Infernal Method and The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull, those would best represent what they currently sound like (I quite like it, even though it's way different from what I usually listen to).
