View Full Version : Jonny Craig kicked out of Dance Gavin Dance. Again. (MUST READ! haha)

Not long after rejoining Dance Gavin Dance it appears that the vocalist has once again been given the boot. Not sure if its permanent or just for the current All Star Tour as no official statement from the band has been posted. Word of the split actually came from Craig himself who tweeted last night:

“Sorry guys I won’t be on anymore all stars dates. Hey! At least it wasn’t drugs lol”

Dance Gavin Dance kicked Craig off tour last February for essentially being a heroin junkie. Before that he was kicked out of Emarosa for scamming fans out of money for drugs.

Why anybody still deals with this dude is beyond me. Is he that good a singer?

Apparently the owner of Sumerian Records was the one who kicked him not only out of the band but off the label as well. Don't like the band but this guy sounds like a douche.

hahah I hate the band but just find this too funny. He sounds like the worlds biggest asshole. Funny thing is on their facebook when they posted the news all their fans even said how big of a dickhead he was.

You've got your cool kid hair and clothes
Ninja moves to strike your foes
You ruin every single show
As you continue to pose

Hardcore dancing's bad
And you should feel bad
Hardcore dancing's bad
And you should feel bad

Flail your arms to impress your friends
Lose yourself to the trend
Cut the act, you aren't tough
You realize that NSYNC broke up?

Hardcore dancing's bad
And you should feel bad
Hardcore dancing's bad

I immediately thought of this.

Ash Avildsen (the owner of Sumerian) could indeed kick Craig off the tour, but i can't imagine he has any say in Craig being in Dance Gavin Dance or on Rise Records, the label DGD is on.

So I found out some new stuff today from being at All Star Tours.

Apparently he was kicked off the tour for several reasons. First off being a dick to fans and cussing them out when they would ask for a picture, apparently he came on stage a few times all fucked up, and I guess he was a dick to the tour guys, other bands, and his own band which I guess one of the times ended in a fight.

In their place are Secret Band which is DGD's side project. They got NO reaction from the crowd. Most of the crowd actually sat down. They also went from co-headliner to playing not even half way through the day.

When Jonny rejoined Dgd, we were about to call it quits. Tired of touring and being away from home for 8 months of the year, we wanted to shake things up. We thought it'd be fun to do a dbm sequel with Jonny and go out on that. We recorded dbm2 and felt it would be a disservice to our fans not to let them hear the new record live. We did a tour and felt rejuvenated but Jonny wasn't in a good place. After trying to convince him into getting help over warped tour, we canceled a headliner in November/December 2011 and told him we wouldn't tour until he sought out real help for his addiction. We got our good friend Matt Geise to fill in for a short run we did earlier this year while Jonny was in rehab. He was released and wanted to be out on the road immediately. We weren't sure how things would go so we only booked a small portion of the all stars tour to see if Jonny could still function as our lead singer. After a week and a half things were not going well. Everything came to a head when Jonny was publicly scolded by the owner of sumerian records for multiple offenses. It was then that we realized that our time with Jonny had reached its end. We wish Jonny the best In his future endeavors but he will no longer be a part of DGD. We however will continue playing and writing music because it's what we love doing.

Statement released from the band. He will never be bad.
