It's a restaurant, it doesn't sound like they do this often.

They asked me if I was a promoter like 2 months ago, but I forgot to respond, I should have seen this coming.

Same here. What might also happen is that they assemble some stacked as hell bill just for the Bay with young thrash bands and they go to the Oakland Metro instead. Oh and check that Primordial thread, I think one of the Cormorant dudes replied to your post about the solar installation at your school haha.

That most definitely will happen, man. It's just a part of the Bay Area I guess.

It probably would be, but I bet they couldn't get it together with them. I still can't go to the Black Cat without thinking my white ass is gonna get shanked.

yeah Black Cat is sketchy as fuck. There are few bands I'd go there to see and even then I'd be reluctant to go. But DC9 is a great venue, it's too bad they can't be playing there. The likeliness of me going is pretty low now. Where is this place down there anyway? Anywhere close to 9:30?

I was just over there for the Fourth, but I'll probably be back twice a year-ish for the standard college off-year times. I reckon that means that we'll probably be in the Bay around the same times then. I'm sure we'll both attend a show while we're back home then.

Actually I did only post the God Hates me thing, hoping someone would do what Manks did. God Hates Us All reference.

Yes I am fortunate right now to be able to get to do interviews with bands coming through town. Not all the bands coming to town I get to interview. Sure I put in my requests for almost every rock or metal show I would care about. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. But you also gotta remember, even though Minneapolis/St. Paul is considered an A Market, we don't get THAT many shows. Chicago is the 3rd biggest city in the united States. Unless the bands or labels love this area, they are going to just hit Chicago. Which is understandable.

I also am the only one on the radio sans one radio show on Saturday nights, that promotes any metal around here, so when a band comes to town, I'm pretty much the only exposure they will get in the media besides facebook, or maybe the local paper just saying when the show will be.

If I had the money I'd totally do the 14 hour round trip to go see Vektor, but I don't. So I can't. Maybe next year Vektor will come to town, hopefully in a support slot (only because it would mean a more likely chance they will come here). I mean hell I started my very first episode of my new show with Tetrasturctional Minds. I love them and love to support them in any way I can.

Enough ranting....unless anyone wants to keep it up on this boring night. :D

I doubt they're doing that because they want to, that show they did with Witchaven and Exmortus a few months back at the Echo was well attended if I remember right. I would imagine that the venues they could play are already booked or something.

Tuesday 8/21 - Kansas City, MO @ Riot Room w/Hellevate, Alsatia, Meatshank

Holy SHIT. One of my live bands of all time (Vektor), a local band who is always solid (Meatshank) and two of my new favorite local bands that I've been DYING to see (Hellevate and Alsatia). I am SO PUMPED.

Hellevate I've only seen opening for Ghoul and it was their Halloween show, so they did an amazing King Diamond cover. Alsatia opened for Sabaton and totally blew me away. I can't wait for this show.
