That Slayer set is awesome.

This; I really hope this is the real set, because the length (13 songs) is the same when they were in the same slot for Mayhem 2009

also that slipknot set is pretty nice, can't wait only a week for my date!:rocker:

That's the correct Slayer set. Its also the correct Slipknot set as far as I know. I left after Heretic Anthem but it would have been cool to see Snuff. They played a bit from Killers are Quiet in the intro as well. There was no replacement for Jim. They played as a 7 piece band. Four of the members weren't doing anything most of the time, so they sounded fine as a three piece haha. I was tripping out when they came out cause they went back to their old school costumes. They're in the jump suits again and have the old masks. The clown has his pentagram mask again!

That Slayer set was fucking AMAZING. God fucking damn I was in awe.

I had been waiting for Disciple, Mandatory Suicide and Hell Awaits and I finally saw them. And the rest of the songs together made it one fucking awesome package.

Slipknot was fun just like the last 3 times I saw them. I had to refuel after Slayer with some food and water because I pregamed it pretty hard in the parking lot. I got obliterated in the pit during Anthrax haha.

Man, I'm psyched for tomorrow. Gary Holt coming home for the first time in so long means that all the metalfolk young and old in the bay are gonna be around. :D Lee, Jack and Tom from Exodus, Rick Hunolt, Zetro, Paul Bostaph, Craig Locicero will probably be hanging around the lawn. Lars, James and Kirk are probably gonna be lame as usual and hang out only backstage.

According to someone on the Anthrax ulitmate metal forum who went, this was the set:

Caught in a mosh
Got the time
Fight em til you cant
Antisocial
Indians
Madhouse
I am the law

Certainly makes more sense then the one posted already because the songs and the order fit perfectly with the predictability of an Anthrax set.

Pretty good sets from Slayer and Slipknot.

No one, they only played with one guitarist and I'm sure they did that bassist in the back thing again. Like that dude said above Anthrax set was nothing special but they put on a hell of show. The person who asked about Gently, it sounded damn good. During the song they did that fake snow thing from Disasterpiece DVD. I saw all of Motorhead but I know jack about em so I can't confirm that above set. Overall had a great time so much fun pits, crowdsurfed a good amount especially during SLAYEEER!!! :rocker: Only negative thing is there was a decent amount of skin heads, during Motorhead a couple fights broke...fuckin lame. Parking sucked as well. Lastly, TDWP opening up mainstage was fucking dumb. They got booed and beer/stuff chugged at them. :tp: crowd did not dig em at all. I mean if ya don't like a band that's fine but don't disrespect them unless they do a douchy thing.

I guess. I mean the rotating bands(Asking Alexandria,AILD,TDWP) all sell albums and can easily fill venues like House of Blues and even bigger. When I saw TDWP they sold out the show well before the day of the show and it's about the size if not bigger than House of Blues.I just say fuck rotating slot thing and let Anthrax open main stage to please the peeps who don't like the -core bands.

Ok here's my review of the show. I left my girlfriends house around 6 with a few friends and we all got to the venue around 6:30ish but it took 20 minutes or so to find parking. It was so terrible! We parked about a mile from the venue. I'm not exaggerating cause it took us almost twenty minutes to walk from my car to the gate. As I walked up to the gate, I noticed there wasn't a line! This seriously caught me off guard cause I was expecting to have to wait about 45 minutes in line. We were inside a bit after 7 and I could hear Motorhead playing. I checked out the alcohol prices and it was $13 for a large beer and $16 for a mixed drink  Fuck that!! My girlfriend was also horrified when we got inside because she didn't know what to expect. She described it as a "White Trash Swap Meet" We went to our seats and were sitting down by the time Over the Top was being played. I thought they sounded amazing, but there were some sound problems and I couldn't really hear Lemmy's voice that well. Slayer went on a bit after and had the same sound problem. Tom's voice seemed a little low in the mix, but the rest of the band sounded amazing. I was so happy to hear Hell Awaits, Altar of Sacrifice and Jesus Saves being played again! My girlfriend thinks Gary looks like Aragorn haha.. After a 45 minute wait, the lights finally went out and the intro track began for Slipknot. It would have been cool to hear them play Killers are Quiet instead of it just being the intro, but w/e. I was happy to see them bring back the jump suits and some of their old masks. I was tripping out for the first few songs because Jim wasn't there. Corey then went on to tell everyone that Jim's appendix burst a few weeks ago and he's waiting to undergo surgery soon. They sounded really good but we were over being there after the Heritic Anthem, so we left early to beat the traffic. After making the 20 minute walk back to my car, I was out of the parking lot and on the freeway by 11:30 :D It was definitely a good time!

Glad to see Hell Awaits and Seasons in the Slayer set. That set looks killer. I just wish they would open with something other than Disciple. I have no problem with the song. It's just they opened with it last Mayhem fest and a shit-ton of other tours throughout the last 11 years.

Again i'll say i wish Slayer would do their own U.S. headlining tour for once. 13 songs isn't that much.

Well I missed 2009 Mayhem Fest and all Slayer shows before it, so in my case I couldn't be happier they opened with Disciple. It's something I'd been wanting to see for a long time and the 3 times I saw them in 2010/11 they opened with World Painted Blood instead.

Yeah it was 26000+, the biggest Mayhem crowd in history they said. And the pit was wild.

I thought all the bands I went there for sounded great, I was in the pit though so I was very close to the amps.

During Slipknot the pyrotechnics were pretty fucking loud. And the stage setup/lights for Slayer/Slipknot was pretty awesome. The Marshall Amp upside-down cross setup for Slayer in particular, with flames shooting out of it.

The second Anthrax set posted and the Slayer and Slipknot sets look right... But I don't remember hearing Die By The Sword.
I experienced my first time being the drunk ass who gets dropped crowd surfing today... twice.
Also got punched in the throat in the pit during Slayer, not fun.

Is that just a general statement or a reference to me making that stupid joke 5 times in the news thread?
Depends on your experience. Anthrax was fun, but I always hated pits out on the lawn and watching metal from so far away or otherwise paying up the ass for seats. I've seen all 3 bands I wanted to see before, and nothing was really fantastic or terrible enough (successfully avoided all the other second stage bands :fist:) to make or break the show by itself.

MAYHEM FEST 2012: Worst concert of 2012. Hands fucking down

Well I think its time….ladies in gentlemen. Behold, hands down, one of the worst days of my life, which turned mayhem fest 2012 into easily the worst concert of 2012 for me.

Well i guess ill just get straight to it..

:( :( :( :( :( :(

:bouville: :bouville: :bouville: :bouville:

Had work at 7 am, worked till 4, got off only find out some fucking horrible fucking crazy ass shit. I don't think this is the best place to share super personal stuff seeing how i don't really know any of you and the ones that i have met i don't think i would consider you people good enough mates to share this kind of stuff with. Anyways long story short, some really personal shit went down and it killed what could have easily been an amazing show. Slayer was amazing as usual but the stuff that happened right after i got off work just totally and royally fucked me up, good god never has something outside of my enjoyment for metal, concerts, and more importantly, MY FAVORITE BAND EVER, Gotten in the way of my life. I can't believe I'm going to even say this but by 9:50pm i was looking at my cell and wishing Slayer would hurry up and finish. The band was amazing, sounded amazing, and tom sounded spot on during so many songs, he sounded fucking brutal during disciple. The reason I was in a rush to bone out of slayer was because this personal dilemma that occurred right when i got off work was just getting in the way, I was so fucked up, and by fucked up i just mean emotionally and physically and psychologically, i just wanted to get back home and get answers and get to the bottom of some fucking bull fucking shit fucking crap that i just don't wanna even go into god fucking dammit. I just can't get into this.... but if you if you folks knew just what happened all of you would be in the same mood as I was in and can't blame me at all for being so bummed out at the show..

june 30th was suppose to be an amazing concert by my favorite metal band of all time. I was so bummed out and sad over what had just happened and what still is going on that I just couldn't even enjoy one one bit of the concert. Although I will admit that Jesus saves and Altar of sacrifice were the highlights for me. Those were the two main songs where i totally forgot about everything and just went fucking crazy, head banging my fucking head to the fucking concrete floor, air guitar soloing and belching out the lyrics word for word with my main man Tom Araya! But after altar of sacrifice and jesus saves I just went straight into depress mode. Goddamn june 30th 2012 will go down as one of the worst days of my life, and what a way to kill off what could have been and amazing show by my favorite metal band of all time. I'm so disappointed in myself that i couldn't enjoy slayer, I even said through out the entire ride to the show that i wouldn't let this get in the way and that I'm going to go ape shit for slayer, but fuck man, i was pretty much bummed to the fucking fullest by the time angel of death came, so goddamn bummed, i didn't even care that angel of death was playing, i just wanted to stick around till they finish cause i love slayer, but i just wanted to go back to fucking irvine and deal with some fucking bull SHIT. Goddammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the time the intro to South of Heaven came on I just wanted to get get the fuck out of the show, I seriously didn't give a fuck anymore. I WANTED TO FUCKING LEAVE ALREADY, I REALLY DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT ANYMORE WHAT ELSE THEY PLAYED. This personal delima that I had to deal with was just taking over my mind, I couldn't keep my mind and enjoyment on Slayer, all I could say and think was FUCK HURRY THE FUCK UP SO I CAN LEAVE. I ended up leavening in the middle of Raining Blood, missing the best part of the song, I couldn't take it anymore. I told my friend we need to get the fuck back home cause i need to deal with some shit and call people up and get to the bottom of some shit and get answers, I DEMAND ANSWERS. Right before tom goes into the "Awaiting the hour of reprisal, your time slips away" part we book it back to the parking lot, missing the best part of the song. I can't believe I left during the first part of raining blood, but i had to, i just couldn't take it anymore, you can all call me a hater or whatever but i was just so upset in my stomach and nauseated, scared and confused at what had occurred while i was at work and only to find out some crazy shit after that i really didn't care anymore.. i hate using this as it is pretty cliche but F.M.L

Anyways, i agree with vegantopher and srm, Show was fucking PACKED. I have never seen a mayhem this packed, it wasn't this packed last time i went to mayhem fest in 2009. Hell, it wasn't this packed at the judas priest show a couple of months ago at this same venue. I was parked right next to the entrance for that show, making it a nice quick 2 minute walk! For this years mayhem fest we got vip 20 dollar parking and still had to walk like 20 minutes! Good thing my friend knew where he parked because i would have gotten us lost till all eternity. Holy shit we were fucking far from the concert. And once again, totally spot on srm, THIS SHOW WAS FUCKING PACKED AS SHIT. I could tell this show was packed as monkeys once we treked our way down to the entrance, felt like forever!!! I'm glad I didn't drive ahahhahaha

Anyways, it sucks this personal stuff had to get in the way of what could havre been an awesome show. It really killed it, but I gotta say Slayers performance was amazing. Tom has put on a ton of weight since I last saw him at the Big four, but his weight issue doesn't seem to be getting in the way of his vocal performance at all, he sounded amazing and spot on during Disciple, die by the sword, jesus saves, and altar of sacrifice. Stellar performance over all and as long as getting fatt doesn't get in the way of his vocal performance, then i don't give a rats ass how fatt tom gets. He can be the next dino fear factirt for all i care, but as long as he still can belch out those songs like the way he did when i saw him at mayhem fest, then, with all due respect my friend, keeping eating those KFC thighs and chili cheese fries my nigga. :hmm:

Slayer was amazing, short ass set list, and easily a horrible show ruined by some stupid personal bullshit that happened right after i got off work. I hope i get to see slayer soon so i can make up for that stupid shit.

OH Yeah, not that its a biggie, but this was officially my 6th time seeing Slayer.
:D

And still I haven't seen them headline yet... :hmm:

Hey sep, I hope everything is alright with you man. I know that feeling of something going wrong and not wanting to be at a show. Has happened to me many times. So many times that I still have the habit of checking my phone between songs to make sure what time it is. Altar and Jesus Saves were my highlight as well. At least Slayer were off right at 9:16 so you could get back to whatever you needed to get to. What time did you get to the show? Was it just for Slayer?

At least Slayer were off right at 9:16 so you could get back to whatever you needed to get to. What time did you get to the show? Was it just for Slayer?

yes and no. I wanted to get there to see anthrax and motorhead head but i spent from 4pm-5:40ish being in shock mode and flipping a bitch over some stuff that occurred. I left irvine around 630ish and got to the show around 7:30ish. Took us a good twenty minute walk and finally got to the venue by pretty much eight, getting there just in time for slayer ahhaha. You know I actually wanted to hit you up and see if we could all meet for a bit and chill, but i was in that mood where I literally couldn't even open up my mouth or even keep a straight face. I was to make it short...Pissed the fuck off and very bummed out mixed together creating a mood that just fucking killed my fucking goddamn night.. There was no way i would even wanna meet you in this kind of mood bro. Thanks for being concerned man, much appreciated. I ended up getting back to irvine at 10:30 and i didn't fall asleep until 5:30 in the morning. I was just too pissed and still in shock mode to even go to sleep, let a lone clear my mind up....oh and then I woke up three hours later and got ready to go to work. I have no idea how i kept a straight face over there let alone manage to work all nine hours as my body was sore dead, and i was just fatigued as hell over not getting any bit of sleep, ahahhahahah.

Glad you had a good time though, hope to see you soon at a show again, brothuh!

Has everything at least been solved? You're more than welcome to pm me about it. My dad went through a lot of cancer shit and it was terrible. I'm going to bed soon so I might not respond tonight. Anyways, I spent way too much time at the show going back and forth between the porta potty and having my cell die to be able to communicate with anyone. I know RJ had the same cell problems. We at least got to enjoy our favorite RIB songs together :D I'm sure I'll see you soon. Hopefully POTR, if not then Morbid Angel!!

Fuck dude, I'm really sorry you had to go through that the other day. Regardless of what it was, I hope things get better for you real soon, from what you posted no one deserves a day like the one you just had. I know we haven't met yet, but if you just want to vent you're welcome to shoot me a PM. I don't know if this would help you out or not, but whenever I'm amazingly stressed, I just go on a walk in the middle of the night and just think about shit. I always end up feeling better when I get home. Again man, I hope things pick up for you, just remember there's always an end to bad times and that you will be happy again soon!

Thanks for the warm welcoming posts, guys. Everything has been resolved, but the damage has been done, and there is nothing i can do about it except start from scratch. Thats really i can say for now because i am literally about to pass the fuck out ahaha. Pretty tired and I had a very long day at work, got off around midnight and I gotta go to sleep since i have to wake up for work in less than six hours. :hmm:

Until then folks. Keep it black, keep it metal, and it keep it hip hop. Black metal hip hop. ahahah they should make a genre called that. :fist: :rocker:

Haha, I didn't know about the show before my buddy told me a week or so ago. It's looking like a busy August for me.
