I don't think I've seen this thread before. Whether it's a stupid idea or not, I still decided to post this because why the fuck not. Someone will probably get a kick out of it...I hope. :eyes:

Have you ever been to a show where something absolutely random has happened that you aren't likely to forget for a while? Something funny from the audience, something awesome from the band members, something going on with a hobo outside...? Anything, really. Even shit you heard from other people, as long as it relates to the show or the music.

One of my "favorite" moments would be when I offered a cigarette to Corpsegrinder (I didn't know he was so anti-smoking at the time) and he put it out with a water bottle from across the stage before saying "Smoking is for fucking retards!" into the microphone.

Not even a second later, someone shouted from the audience "Then I have Down syndrome!".

...TL;DR, post shit you found amusing from shows in this thread.

Hmmmm

The first time I saw Skeletonwitch, before they started getting big, they set up their kit in the middle of the floor for Within My Blood and we all circle pitted around them.

I got sexually assaulted at a local metalfest by a super hot, but super drunk chick.

I had that happen at the train station on the way back from seeing Forbidden/Gama Bomb. :eyes: Well, except for the super hot part.

Oh, man. I've had a lot of these happen to me. Need to try to remember all of them.

At my only Cannibal Corpse show, Corpsegrinder introduced 'The Time to Kill is Now' by asking the audience what time it was; some dude yelled out the time, and Corpsegrinder answered him with "no, fucker, it's time to kill!"

During COB's set at Graspop this year, all of the band except Janne (the keyboardist) left the stage, probably to get some water/towels. Janne spent about twenty seconds just awkwardly standing there, and then started playing 'I'm So Ronery' from Team America. When Laiho came back out and asked him why the fuck he was playing it, Janne said "...but you guys left."

The first time I saw Megadeth, a friend of mine crowdsurfed his way onto the actual stage (no idea how he managed to get over the gap in between the stage and the barrier), ending up right under Mustaine's mic stand. Mustaine just glared at him, and replaced the next line of whatever song it was he was playing at the moment with "why don't you get out of here?"

At some point during my first Dillinger Escape Plan show in 2010, Puciato threw his mic stand into the crowd, like he frequently does. However, some guy decided he wanted it as a souvenir and started running towards the exit with it. Puciato jumped down from the stage, chased him down, and came back with the stand merely seconds after throwing it.

During Suffocation's show this past March, a chick ran on stage and flashed the audience before jumping back into the crowd. A few seconds later, Bill Robinson (filling in for Muller) mimicked her, without the jumping part.

At a Public Enemy show I was at in 2010, Flava called onstage a member of the audience from the front row who had a sign with "can I freestyle with you" on it. A few songs after that duet, the band asked the audience for a drummer to jam with. A dude made his way up to the stage; Flava and Chuck then freestyled over melodies played by their bassist and the audience member drumming.

When I saw Deep Purple last year, their keyboardist played a 20-minute solo. Halfway through, I found a blank sheet of paper in my back pocket on which I wrote with a Sharpie "STOP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD". Gillan saw the makeshift sign and made a "what can I do?" gesture.

When I saw Fucked Up, halfway through their set Damian noticed an audience member's Down t-shirt and actually started a conversation about their favorite Down albums. Damian's was II, if I remember correctly.

Halfway through Maybeshewill's headlining set at last year's fall edition of Astral Festival, a couple in the front row broke up (I assume), and the chick left the venue. The dude looked a bit down, and Maybeshewill's lead guitarist said the 99 problems phrase

When I saw Bowling for Soup last October, I was the guy Jared kept asking how to say certain words in Russian.

During Animals as Leaders' opening set back at the BTBAM/AAL show I saw last September, someone screamed out "Tosin, I want your babies" making him laugh so hard he had to start the next song three times.

I'll post some more later if I can remember anything.

Here are a few weird/wtf moments from shows I've been to:

- I don't remember what show it was at, but at the Reverb in Toronto, we'd go outside in between bands for a smoke or to grab something to eat or whatever. Anyway, this one time there was this old eastern european guy yelling across the street about capitalism or some bullshit, getting really obnoxious, he was yelling for a good 15 minutes or so. So this one guy close to us gets up, goes into the convenience store across the street, comes out with a carton of milk and proceeds to dump it on the old dude's head. Needless to say, he shut up after that. I felt kind of bad for the guy since it was obvious he wasn't really all there, but it was funny anyway.

- At a Cannibal Corpse show, also at the Reverb, I was standing behind this chick who all of the sudden tossed her half empty cup of beer into the middle of the mosh pit, then took a pull of her smoke and tossed that into the middle of the mosh pit, and just walked out. It's probably not that crazy, but I've never seen anyone do that before or since. Just a dick move, imo.

- Yet another show at the Reverb, this one being The Haunted and Witchery, and it was the last show of the tour. At the end of The Haunted's set, all of the other bands came out to play the last song. Somehow, this big fat dude who used to be a fixture at most Toronto metal shows gets up on stage and sings along with them! You can see the band members kinda look at him funny and give each other strange looks, but they just keep on going. No one kicks him off stage or anything. And this guy was such a tool. He always seemed to be alone, always seemed to be shitfaced, and always seemed to be acting like an asshole, but he was huge (we called him Jim Neidhart) so nobody fucked with him.

- A couple years ago at an Overkill show at the Phoenix, my friend and I are about 4 or 5 rows back from the stage during Overkill's set, right in front of the mosh pit. This big middle-aged biker dude comes up with his wife/girlfriend and is getting visibly annoyed with the occasional bump from somebody moshing behind us. So he pipes up and goes "Anybody hurt my woman, I'll fucking kill them!" So my buddy goes "I think you've got her in the wrong place, man!" And the biker immediately steps up in my buddy's face and goes "Are you going to harm my woman?!" My buddy starts backtracking, trying to explain himself and the biker just keeps on getting angrier and angrier. And I'm thinking this is going to get real ugly. My buddy is like 6'7", but a strong wind could snap him in half and this biker dude was looking slightly insane. Then finally after being interrogated for the 10th time if he's going to hurt the guy's woman, my friend says "No! I don't want to hurt her!" The dude's face completely changes to a smile, puts his arm around my friend and says "Well alright then!" and just starts headbanging along to Overkill.

- The second time I saw Asesino was on Cinco De Mayo (I think). The Mexicans were drunk as shit. At one point the pit got out of control, and one Mexican bumped into a white guy, causing the Mexican guy to take off his belt and wrap it around his fist. He was promptly ejected from the venue......

- At this years MDF, during Morbid Angel, a guy decided to climb up on the overpass next to the outdoor stages. The cops showed up and got him to return to the ground, but the cops didn't leave. They decided to stay, take pictures, watch the show, and throw us the horns. I believe someone started a "Kill a cop" chant, it would have been great for MA to bust into Radikult :D.

...I have more, but I just woke up and can't think :D

All I can remember as of now is a guy at the free Magrudergrind show last year doing bear walks and frog leaps in the pit throughout the whole show. It was so bad yet so funny. And then Magrudergrind getting like everyone to stage dive at the end of their set (Reggies does not allow stage diving whatsoever).

When I saw Watain for the first time, there was some guy next to my cutting his wrists with a razor blade:eyes:

Archgoat decided it was a good idea to throw goat blood at the crowd. I smelled like shit for a few days :(

That reminds me of a Watain story myself

One of their guitarists thought it would be cool and evil to kick everyone in the front of the stage in the face during their set. No one was attempting to do anything, just enjoying the *ahem* "ritual".

Also, when I saw Devin Townsend the first time, they were experiencing some technical difficulties, so they went into some big freestyle jam session. During this Devin jumped off the side of the stage and ran up the stairs into the bar. Security was PISSED . He finally got back on stage, and motioned like he was going to do it again, but security just stared at him and shook their heads hahahaah.

The only really memorable thing for me is from last year's Ensiferum show at Reggie's. There was this really scrawny kid with glasses and chain mail of all things, just going all out in the pit. Oh and some guy got thrown out during the very last song of the show for being rowdy, which I thought was funny.

A few memorable moments come to mind. The first one was when I saw Alice in Chains in Portland, ME a few years ago. Some guy started pushing and shoving his way to the front, and got pissed and started punching people when they wouldn't let him through. Security came in and pulled him out, and Jerry Cantrell says, "make sure he buys a t-shirt on the way out." I don't know why, but I thought that was hilarious.

Another one was when I went to see Revocation headline at the Waterfront Tavern in Holyoke, MA. My brother drove 2 hours with me just cause I wanted to see Revocation headline and we figured we'd make a trip out of it, and when we showed up there were only about 20 hardcore fans and us. All the other bands playing that night were hardcore, and by the time Revocation came on only about 5 other people were there, other than the members of the other band members. David Davidson said at the start of the show, "welcome to the first annual disinterested fest."

The last one was when I was on my way home from seeing Ghoul at Great Scott in Allston. Some gut pulled up to me at a red light, and he was glaring into the car. I noticed that he kept looking over, and asked him what was up. He just said nothin much, and started pulling away, looking back at me. I was a little confused, until I realized about 10 minutes later that I was still covered in fake blood from the show. The guy probably thought it was real blood and was freaked out!

My band had played a show a few months ago with a band called rookie of the year. They are an awful acoustic pop punk band. We were only playing becuase the venue had asked a few local bands to open the show. But anyway there were like 10 bands playing. The show had the wierdest lineup, and it was a monday night in lemoyne, pa. Middle of now where. The place was legit empty for rookie of the queer. It was me, my guitarist, and one other guy in a place that can hold 500. The sound guy wasn't even there. But there were bugs everywhere and the guys is singing in his very femine way he does and this big honkin bug flies right into his mouth lol. He just totally flips and just runs out. We made like 20 bucks that night haha.

Kinda random but during the Chicago Summer Slaughter last year we had one of the dates where Whitechapel was sick so they started late, so during the wait there were two hot chicks in the balcony teasing the crowd so everyone starts the show your tits chant. After like 10 minutes the drummer of guitarist of Whitechapel come on stage to see whats going on and end up making a beat and telling the crowd to continue.

Then out of no where the team America fuck yea song starts playing and the entire place just starts singing along.

My favorite random story:

Halloween 2010. Abigial Williams is openeing for Nevermore and Warbringer at Station 4 in St Paul. After the show a friend of mine who was producing my old band's album at the time invited me up to his place above Station 4 to check out the mix of a few tracks.

While listening I hear a gigantic crash outside. I look outside to see what happened and I see a gigantic pile of guardrail piled together. After a few minutes I decide to go outside and see whats up.

When I get down there I see Ken and Ian of Abigail Williams laughing their asses off. I ask them if they knew what happened outside a few minutes and Ken proceeds to tell me:

"John Kevill from Warbringer and I seen all these guardrail not being used so we thought 'Hey, lets build a pyramid!" so we carefully put together a fully functional stand alone guardrail pyramid. Once it was put together. I got in the middle of it and had Ian take a picture. once the picture was taken, fucking John toppled the whole thing over and hauled ass outta here."

So after seeing pics of the pyramid, Ken in the Pyramid and the aftermath of the pyramid, we all laughed our asses off.

Afterwards I was invited by a friend of mine to go party with Abigail Williams, but this was back when I lived an hour and a half away from St. Paul and not 25 minutes like I do now, so I had to decline. Although the next time I saw Abigail Williams, during my interview with them back in February, I brought this story up and they laughed their asses off about it.

-Some random opening band for...I can't even remember what show: they were some shitty emo band, and between songs the singer said "Everyone yell out your favorite color!" A couple people did. "Hear that? You just made a rainbow!" Stone cold silence.

-Wild Flag, New Haven, CT: It was the first show of the tour, so they had to shake off some rust. Late in the set after a song, Mary waved bye to the crowd, set down her guitar, and started walking off the stage. The rest of the band just stared at her until she realized they still had another song to go. Also, during the show there were TVs showing an NBA game and Carrie kept asking what the score was.

-When I saw Obituary in 2009, it was in this bar and there was no rail, so everyone in the front was right against the stage. Some asshole kept crowdsurfing on the stage and one of the times landed right on Ralph Santolla's pedal board, which knocked out his guitar for the rest of the song. He got really pissed and shoved the guy and after the song grabbed his cigarettes and was about to storm off stage, but the band convinced him to do the last song before the encore. I just remembered this too, earlier in their set, his guitar strap came off and the singer from Warbringer ran on stage to try to and get it back on, but gave up and left.

-On Type O Negative's last tour, during Christian Woman, someone threw a shoe on stage and Peter stopped singing/playing, picked up the shoe, smelled it, and threw it back into the crowd. It was amazing.

Last night I got out of the Black Cobra show at about two in the morning and was walking towards my car and thought I was hallucinating because I saw an endless stream of bicycles at the end of the street, as I got closer, I saw that I wasn't hallucinating, there were cops directing traffic as thousands of cyclists made their way through the streets of Chicago. My car was right on the other side of the street from this and I had to wait for fifteen god damn minutes of a continuous flow of cyclists before I could finally get to my car and drive an hour home.

During an Amorphis/Samael show at the Opera House in Toronto in 2008 the fire alarm went off during Samaels set. You could barely hear it above the music. After fifteen minutes the fire department showed up but the show kept going. It was funny seeing ten firefighters in 100lbs of equipment making their way through the venue as a metal band was playing and people were moshing around them completly oblivious. Attendance was low so they didn't have much trouble making their way through. A few of the firefighters had this bewildered "WTF are we doing here" look on their faces.

The Mohegan Sun venue is inside a casino. So after the Metal Masters tour was this throng of metalheads filing out and blackjack and craps players had to be subjected to "PRIEST! PRIEST!" chants for a good 3 minutes.

At a Testament show in London back in about 2008 this short, fat nerd-who-lives-in-his-parents'-basement type guy is there just wandering around the standing section at the side of level 1 (the venue has four levels, ground is all standing, 1 is a C-shape and is standing on the sides, seated in the middle, 2 and 3 are all seated - biggest venue I've ever seen Testament headline in the UK!), and seems totally harmless enough, if maybe one geek short of a LAN party.

Every now and again during the support he disappears to get a beer and comes back, but never stays in one place. That continued through the first few songs of Testament, then after a while some person goes flying past me and I hear a bunch of people shout "what the fuck?" I look round and this nerd guy is shoving people out of the way to get to the rail. He forces his way onto it, and proceeds to move along it towards the stage, shoulder charging whoever is standing next to him, but the whole time he never looks at them and keeps headbanging.

He eventually gets to me and I don't move. He hits me twice with his shoulder and I realise he's too big for me to keep this up, so on the third time I step back, he goes straight past me and hits the concrete pillar to my right, bounces off it, stumbles down the steps by the exit to the VIP seating in front, seems completely oblivious to what has just happened, and ends up on the corner rail, still headbanging.

He grabs the rail and starts swinging back and forth on it, pulling the rivets out of the wall on one side. Eventually security turns up and he goes full retard; starts fighting with them and pushing them. It takes four of them, one limb each, to carry him out of the venue.

...and just for the record, I'm on the pro-moshing, pro-stagediving, pro-crowdsurfing side of the fence - but that's just plain fucking stupid. Dude is lucky he didn't get charged with assault. Seriously, what the fuck?

So anyway, not that I'm trying to be a wet blanket here (although you might be tempted to think so, based on the above :snivel:), but what the fuck really qualifies for posting in this thread? I've seen a lot of crazy shit in the past 25-30 years at shows, such as broken noses / bones, animal blood, human blood, people crowdsurfing in wheelchairs, fights, equipment malfunctions, incredibly stupid comments from band members / audience members, completely hilarious comments from band members / audience members, incredibly lame performances, surprisingly awesome performances, thunderstorms in the middle of outdoor sets, moshing in the mudpits created by said thunderstorms, partial nudity, complete nudity, people fucking in bathrooms, people fucking underneath blankets at outdoor concerts, running into Matt Pike in the exact same bathroom of the exact same venue twice on two completely different tours, most of the members of Baroness bowling (badly) a few hours before their headlining set, Chuck Schuldiner's face inches away from mine as I screamed the words to "Pull the Plug" into his face, and Watain in all their smelly glory...just to name a few.

So which ones qualify?

I could hijack this thread for days.

On topic with the thread, when I saw Opeth in Austin last year on the Heritage tour, someone ran up onstage during Folklore and grabbed Mikael by the shoulders. Venue security rushed up and grabbed him, took him offstage, and down to this one area by the soundboard where they had a word with him (I think). I turned to my friend and told her that I was worried that "we were gonna have another Dimebag moment" for a second there, mostly because Stubb's security was actually pretty good, and the fact that someone got onstage from the side (where they tell you to fuck off if you linger too long) was alarming. She then proceeds to punch me in the arm and tell me not to joke about that shit (I was serious, by the way).

At Megadeth/Slayer for Seasons and Rust tour some dude near me and srm90 decided to just urinate in the middle of the pit while we awaited for Slayer. :eyes: Turned to us and said something along the lines of "I aint leaving my spot". There was still daylight and this fool had plenty of time to go to the restroom and make it back for Slayer.

Yeah that would be Critical Mass. On the last Friday of every month there are a fuck ton of cyclists who bike throughout the streets of Chicago. I did it this past July, it was actually really fun! Didn't know it ran that late though.

EDIT: Wait, that was a Saturday... huh, maybe it got pushed back that day?

The show was fun as hell. Gaza destroyed everything and the relatively small crowd was going nuts. Black Cobra and Earthen Grave were both great as well, but Gaza was by far the best.

And at a record release party for a local Toronto band called Sons of Otis there was some dude dancing with an empty pack of cigarettes, flicking it in the air and trying to catch it and slow dancing withy it. They were/are a stoner band and the show was just at a bar so there wasn't any movement during their whole set except that guy.

Alright here's some stupid that has happened to be during shows

-At the first Mastodon show I went to on the Blood Mountain tour in May 07 some dude somehow managed to smuggle his bong in and was dancing around with/using it as a weapon in the pit.

-During Mayhem Fest 08, I saw a drunk dude (he had to be at least in his late 50's/ early 60's) in a wheelchair doing wheelies while I waited in line to meet Mastodon during Underoath's set.

-The Grateful Dead playing down the street at NEMHF 09. Hippies were trying to bum tickets to Metal Fest (They were hanging around before noon when the doors opened for NEMHF, while the Grateful Dead concert started at 8). During the show almost every band were making fun of them, Municipal Waste even came out dressed as hippies (Which was incredible, the first thing Tony said to the crowd was "Circle pits for love" when "Sadistic Magician" kicked in). After show some hippies asked my friends and I if we had any opium. One of the best experiences for me for sure.

-Having a drunk redneck on the subway call me gay because I saw a band full of dudes after the In Flames/BTBAM show in October 09. The exchange went a little something like this.
Redneck(he had come from the Harpoon Brewery Octoberfest): So what did you guys do tonight?
Me: We saw In Flames at the House of Blues
Redneck: I'm from Alabama, I don't know who that is. Is that bunch of hot chicks or a group of dudes?
Me: It's a group of dudes
Redneck: Well that's fucking gay.

-Someone getting on stage and kissing Tommy Rodgers on the cheek, and then jumping off stage (He didn't get kicked out) during BTBAM's headlining show at the House of Blues in January 2010.

-A bunch of people crowdsurfing on the subway after The Cool Tour in Boston. A few random bystanders who weren't even at the show joined in too. Easily the most fun subway ride of my life.

-After Mayhem Fest 10, a few of my friends started yelling at this girl in the parking lot. She proceeds to give one of my friends her number and then somehow she begins to follow us back to my buddies house. On the way there we find out that she's high on ecstasy and her friend, also high on ecstasy passed out in the back. My buddy who was driving then has to pick up his girlfriends at the time brother from South Station in Boston, this girl continues to wait. My friends than make a pact (which includes the girlfriend's brother) to not say anything if he fucked her that night. I went home after we got back to my town, but she managed to stay for a while and smoke a bunch of weed with a couple of my friends and reveal that she has a 3 year-old kid named Jaxson (I shit you not that's how it was spelled) and that she used to be a hooker then at about 3 AM my friend's who's house they were at mom woke up and kicked her and the rest of my buddies out. She ran out and left her sandals behind (Which my buddy still has to this day) and began her drive pack to Portland, Maine (which is almost 3 hours from where I live.)

-Having the drummer from Arsonists Get All The Girls ask me and my buddies if we have any beer at NEMHF last year and being higly disappointed when he found we weren't 21 (He said he thought it was a safe bet because we had all had mustaches.) He still hung around for about 15 minutes and talked to us and he hugged me because I knew when their new album came out.

-The past couple years at NEMHF, there has been a cheerleading competition next door at the DCU Center. The reactions of the cheerleaders and their parents is nothing short of hilarious.

-At Mayhem Fest last year my buddy almost hit Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence with his van.

- At NEMHF this year my buddy and I were approached by a Himalayan monk. The guy hands my friend and I each a different book and begins to explain how it's all of the original text from the Himalayas and how he's lived in a monastery for 10 years and some other bullshit. He then says that we can keep the book if we make a donation. I said I didn't have any money (I honestly didn't), but my friend gave him 5 bucks and the monk handed him the main worship book. A couple minutes later, my buddy gets the brilliant idea to go around and have band members sign it. In about a 10-minute span, he got Slo and Ken Susi from Unearth and Vincent Bennett from The Acacia Strain to sign the book. Every one's reaction was fucking priceless and they were all laughing their asses off when they signed it. Ken Susi drew a horse dick on it and Vincent Bennett wrote 666 and drew a bunch of inverted crosses. Later in the day he also got signatures from Matt Wicklund from God Forbid, Misha "Bulb" Mansoor from Periphery, and a member of Diamond Plate.

These ones yes, the rest no. Would have included the wheelchair one, but you've posted that before ;)Just for the sake of accuracy, I think others have posted about wheelchair surfers, but not me. I can't remember for sure, though.

I would have thought the ones about Matt Pike and Baroness would have made the cut, but I think I've posted about those before, too.

I notice a nudity theme in many of the ones you're "allowing". Pervert. ;)

I've seen wheelchair crowdsurfers at a bunch of shows but the greatest one was at a BDM show in March. Trevor saw him and kinda stopped , smiled and laughed then pointed to him then had people said on stage to catch him.

If that was at the Big 4 show, I would have thought it was Sep because thats exactly what he did

Oh, when I went to that tour in Long Beach, during Megadeth, there was a guy in a wheel chair pushing himself around in the pit for most of their set. It wasn't some guy who looked like he could do it easily. It was some guy who looked like his life depended on being hooked up to the machine attached to the back of the wheel chair!

-Sounds of the Underground 2005 - Strapping Young Lad finished their set with In The Rainy Season and got a circle pit going, and every so often Devin would yell "reverse" and everyone would have to switch directions. After the set I saw a puddle of blood on the floor. I had assumed it was a test shot from one of GWAR's blood cannons (since they were setting up then) but apparently it turns out a girl got a piercing ripped out during the circle pit or something like that. Ouch! Only time I can remember actually seeing blood like that at a show. I'll also never forget Devin's parting words that afternoon - "We're Strapping Young Lad and we look better than you in a dress!"

-At a local metal show, a death metal band (whose members were sort of fantasy nerds) threw out two large plastic fantasy swords to the crowd and had two people duke it out in the pit.

-Someone supposedly managed to bring a bong into the venue at Gigantour 2008 over here. No idea if it was actually true, I personally kind of doubt it, but I've heard that it happened.

-When I saw God Forbid opening for Lamb of God in Vancouver in 2009, their singer said they would be hanging out at the merch booth after their set, and after almost every song he kept telling people that he'd really appreciate it if they could hook him up with some BC bud.

-http://www.liveatrickshaw.com/gallery/ - take a look at the picture on the top row at the far right. See that wooden structure thing on the left of the stage? Well when I saw Suffocation and The Faceless play at that venue in 2009, some drunk guy managed to get up there during one of their sets and then jumped off, kind of. He didn't really throw himself off, but he didn't really fall off either. He just walked over to the front edge of it, leaned out, and let himself fall flat on his face onto the floor. I didn't see what it looked like when he hit the ground, cause I was a bit further back and the crowd was blocking the view of the floor, but I know he ended up being okay, cause I saw him at other shows at that venue later on (but he didn't try that one off again).

-At a DevilDriver show in 2010, a security guard dropped a kid on his head or something like that. Dez yelled at the security guard and had him kicked out, and then let the kid come on stage (so I guess kind of the opposite of the supposed Randy Blythe incident?). I managed to capture a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZtLs3KK17c) of it, which got a decent amount of hits on youtube.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. I'll probably remember more at some point.

I have a ton, but the one that really comes to mind (probably because I was just talking about it) is from Slayer's set in 2009.

About five minutes before the lights were to go out and Slayer was going to come on, a huge gust of wind from the dust storm tore the curtain off. The members were just standing there like "uhh...... heyyyyyyy....." I wish I could find footage of it.

The main thing I can think up is during the Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie tour from a few years ago some random drunk dude comes up to me during Alice Cooper's set, grabs me at the shoulders and yells in my face "You've got to get closer man!". Then later on when the roadies are doing the setup in between Cooper and Zombie same guy comes up to me and says "Still in the same spot, huh?".

Going to Mayhem Festival today, so I should have a story or two (it's Dallas - you don't leave that place without something weird happening).

When I went to Fun Fun Fun Fest last year, I remember some drunk guy screaming his own lyrics to Slayer songs before any of the "heavy" acts began (about 1:30 in the afternoon), so if you were walking around the Yellow Tent around that time, you could hear someone screaming "RAINING CUM!! FROM A LACTATING MAN!!" pretty loudly. People were giving him pretty odd looks.

I've seen some interesting things over the years but the one that always sticks out in my mind is back when Maiden was touring the Dance of Death tour.

I was fortunate enough to get tickets for the Saturday night show in New York City. This was the tour where they did 4 shows in NY and 4 shows in LA and that was it. Needless to say the place was buzzing and Maiden was fantastic. After the song Iron Maiden I noticed that the band was taking a while to get back on stage for the encore. Then you hear Bruce in the back reading from a novel, and then eventually comes out in a robe. He then addressed the crowd that they are having some technical difficulties because some guy split his beer all over the sound board. So after another 5 minutes or so oh waiting he comes back out to tell everybody that they couldn't fix the problem and there would no encore. At this point instead of booing everybody in the place was chanting Acoustic!, Acoustic! But no luck there would no encore on this show.

I was really disappointed because they were to play Journeyman in the encore but no fucking luck. I also missed out on Run to the Hills and Hallowed being played. It just sucked because I paid quite a bit for those tickets and drove 5 hours to just get to the show, oh well.

One of my favorite times happened on the 4th.

Me and my 2 buddies were walking down to the venue to see Black Breath about 3 hours before doors opened (we had gotten there right as Black Breath started loading in, none of the other bands showed up for about a half hour) We get to a parking lot close to the venue and this lady pushed both me and my friend and screamed at us to give her some meth. Her boyfriend was sitting a couple feet away rocking back and forth just yelling "give her the drugs" over and over. We end up just walking away and she screamed at us calling us assholes while me and him are just laughing our asses off in shock at what had just happened.

Two things stuck out most notably at the Mayhem Festival in Dallas:

Lemmy dedicated "Going to Brazil" to anyone with Brazilian heritage and asked anyone with those roots in them to stand up or cheer, some shit like that. The most awkward silence followed for like, five seconds - I swear, you could hear the fucking planes flying overhead. He shrugged it off and played the song with no other fanfare.

One of the vendor stalls had guitar picks as jewelry items - you know, earrings, chokers, that sort of shit. I remember browsing it and seeing Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Cash, AC/DC, Bob Marley, etc. None of it interested me enough for me to spend money on, so I walked off. Not even a second later, I hear this:

Random guy: "Ya got any Pantera picks?"

Vendor: "No, sorry."

RG: "Dude, you came to Dallas and you didn't even bring a Pantera pick? What the fuck, man?!"

I had to resist the urge to start laughing my ass off right there.

bahahaha!!! That is awesome.

So at Speedwolf, nothing too "OMG" worthy, but...
- Everyone was chanting for another song after "Denver 666", and someone in the crowd yelled "PLAY A VENOM COVER!!!", thus causing their singer to respond "What? We just did a Venom cover like.... two songs ago."

- Before going into their last song (The Hammer, by Motorhead), their singer announced that it would be a cover. After that their bassist and drummer start playing the intro to "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam

- Some random chick standing near me yelled "SIGN MY TITS!" to the singer, he looked at her with a very concerned look on his face and mouthed "ehh, noooooo, I can't do that", so the guy standing near her then yelled "SIGN MY DICK!!!" ..... and Speedwolf started their next song right away.

And the piss incident was at the Chula Vista date the day before. I went to both dates back-to-back.

Ozzfest 2004, I went with a friend of mine and his dad, who is a master bullshitter, so we wound up getting in for free, along with getting backstage eating with all the roadies. We were en route to watch Black Label Society from the side of the stage when Phil Anselmo comes stumbling down the hallway totally out of it, exclaming "where the fuck am I?"

Driving home from Mayhem Fest in 2009 my gas light came on which I thought was weird because I had filled up on the way to the show. I knew I had enough to get home so I waited it out and finally checked when I got back to my place and saw that my gas cap had been stolen and replaced with an empty Oxy bottle. This was in Camden, it wasn't like I parked on a shady side street, but rather in a "secured" lot with guards and all that.

I saw that tour with JFAC, Gojira and Behemoth and outside of the Philly date they (JFAC) were filming for something, and the camera guy asked me what my favorite JFAC song was and if I was excited to see them, he didn't really understand when I said I didn't have a favorite song, that I wasn't excited to see them and that I came to that show mainly to see Gojira.

Pretty tame compared to some of these stories but it's all i've got.

2010 Demon Hunter and As i lay dying tour

I manged to get in front during blessthefall (terrible band and the fans are even worse)

this guy next to me starts elbowing me in my rib cage 4 times. I asked him to stop after the 5th time and a very sore rib cage I punched the guy right in his fucking face. and he decides to to lunge himself at me. I was ready to knock this guy out but there were atleast 7 blessthefag's fans holding me me back and one guy threw me across the pit but I still somehow landed on my feet.

after the show one of the guitarist of the band was yelling about 2 CDs for $5 next to me I looked back at him and said "not even worth it" and left.

I know I shouldn't keep posting in my own thread...but I had something cool happen recently.

Some guys in the audience at Summer Slaughter rolled up something (I don't know if it was weed - I think I heard "shrooms", but I didn't trip balls or anything, so it was probably dirt weed) and since I lit it, I got to hit it too. One of the guys handed it to the bassist and guitarist (the non-Matt Harvey one) of Exhumed, and they hit it before sending it back. As we kept puffing away, I realized...I shared a blunt with Exhumed. :D

You were on (or near) the rail at a show, and you got some unwelcome physical contact. Shocker. Then, you tried to start some shit over it, but several members of the crowd stopped you. Holy fuck.

...and then you add some random bit about the band selling CD's for a low price and you told them where they could stick their cheap CD's - RIGHT UP THEIR FUCKING ASSES!!!

Sooooo you got hit while in the front of a big crowd (which is you know, what usually happens) then you tell the guy to stop and punch him in the face. Was he doing it on purpose? Even so you could have just moved instead of starting a fight. Look dude, you're at a show, people go crazy. If you can't handle it get the fuck out, don't fucking start a fight like a dick.

Plus it had nothing to do with the band, so even if their music might suck, no need to be a dick to them.

One that pops into my head..........

...........seeing Biohazard in Albany at a small, dumpy club called Bogie's. Hold's maybe 400. Sworn Enemy was opening, and during their set, a fight breaks out. No big deal, happens all the time. I'm towards the back, so iI can see this all pretty clearly. Then I see two bouncers dragin a guy out on his stomach. Again, no biggie, I've seen it before. Then I see about 5 guys standing right near me start to fucking attack the guy they're dragging out. I mean hardcore. 2 dudes were stomping his head, and the rest went to work on his midsection. Poor bouncers were frantically trying to stop these assholes, this went on for almost a minute till the other bouncers came. Just really fucked up that these guys would attack a (seemingly) random dude. Never seen anything like that at a show before.
