It raises some questions

Like if this is Wayne booting the entire lineup and basicly turning his solo touring band into Static X?

Well yeah that, Tony is in Soulfly and Nick pretty much left right as "Cult of Static" came out

Static X has always been a guilty pleasure of mine :eyes:
Wisconsin Death Trip is an album that you can rock while driving around in the summer.

Wisconsin Death Trip is great, dumb nu-metal. The rest of their stuff is just alright though.

Good to see that solo career worked so well.

The very first video I downloaded from a file-sharing program (it was Morpheus) was Static-X's Black And White. And that album has some pretty killer songs. I wouldn't mind seeing them for $2.

If the Englewood CO date holds I might consider seeing them if tix are cheap; I enjoyed WDT and Machine, lost interest after that

The industrial elements on the first two records make those nu-metal guilty pleasures something I still listen to from time to time. Only saw them once back in the day, so I would go check 'em out again if they come to Austin or San Antonio. One of my only good memories of going to a frat party freshman year of college (fall 2001) involved a shitty band covering 'Love Dump' and me and my buddy being the only people in the place who knew the song.

I'd go if it came to Chicago and not Mojoes but it'll hit mojoes since Wayne has played there like 3 times within the past two years.

Industrial metal band STATIC-X will embark on a tour this summer. The band, fronted by singer/guitarist Wayne Static, will hit the road beginning July 15 at the Ink Life Tattoo Convention at the El Paso Coliseum.

Commented Static: "I had a great time over the past few years doing my 'Pighammer' album and solo tours, but it's time to get STATIC-X back on the road. I can’t wait to tear it up with some old-school Evil Disco!"

The trek will mark STATIC-X's first outing since they announced a hiatus in 2009. Original bassist Tony Campos will not be joining the band on this tour, but says, "I'm proud of my years with STATIC-X, and want to see the name of the band stay alive and well. I hope that all of our fans will continue to support both Wayne and I in our individual endeavors."

This first leg will feature newcomers DAVEY SUICIDE and 9 ELECTRIC, and are just the beginning of a long string of dates. Expect more announcements soon for additional shows.

Tour dates:

July 15 - El Paso, TX @ El Paso County Coliseum
July 16 - Odessa, TX @ Dos Amigos
July 17 - Lubbock, TX @ Jake's
July 18 - Dallas, TX @ Trees
July 19 - Houston, TX @ Scout Bar
July 21 - San Antonio, TX @ Backstage Live

I'd rather see him do Static X songs anyday(and a Philly show was added, so I'll be getting into that)

Poor, poor Prong. They're one of the most badass live bands I've ever seen, and they always get stuck playing with bands they sound absolutely nothing like or bands that straight up suck. Hopefully they'll get a headline tour or a bill they actually deserve soon.

no word on who is playing bass for Prong(technically Tony is still in the band, but between touring with Soulfly and the fact that he really has no interest in working with Wayne)

yep no question now, his solo band is the new static x touring lineup
The new touring lineup of the industrial metal band STATIC-X will consist of the following musicians:

Wayne Static - Guitar, Vocals
Sean Davidson - Drums
Ashes - Guitar
Brent Ashley - Bass

Pretty much just sounds like Wayne Static wasn't selling enough under his solo name, so he is just using Static-X to make money again.

If Prong wasn't coming here for Knotfest I would have been more interested in this show....to see Prong.

I was thinking about going if it was the original band but then I remembered I already had tickets to go to Uproar Fest that day.
