Not into them, but this is actually pretty cool. Hopefully they don't die from exhaustion though.

"The Melvins will attempt to become the Guinness World Record holders for the first band to tour the full United States and D.C. in 51 days..."We figured it was time for us to do something REALLY crazy," said Osborne. "51 shows in 50 states plus 1 on D.C. and all in 51 days? Jeez! I wonder if we can do it?"

The tour, which will feature the Melvins Lite line-up of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Trevor Dunn, also marks the first time in the band's near 30-year history that they will perform in Alaska, New Hampshire, Delaware and Hawaii."

first time they have been to maine in 13 years, no question i will be there. very tempted to try to do NH as well just on account of the place being fucking tiny.
Any word on openers?
i see local support for NH, wouldnt be surprised if this was the case for most shows

Let's say someone has heard a few Melvins songs and enjoyed them, but never took the time to really check the band out. Where would you suggest this person starts?

This is just ridiculous.

I'll be at the CT and RI shows for sure. Would also do NH/VT but not sure since Morbid Angel is that weekend.

This is only the 2nd time I've heard of any band undertaking the 51/51/50+DC tour route. George Thorogood did it in the 80s.

That being said, I am fuckin' there on October 1st.

damn, i was gonna correct you and say thorogood's was 50/50 (http://thorogoodconcerts.com/5050tour.html), but i see he did DC and maryland in the same day, making it actually 51/50.

melvins should try to throw a couple of instore performances or something in to make sure there is no dispute.

Really surprised they never played New Hampshire or Deleware after all these years.
