Mojoe's in Joliet, IL is easy parking. I usually park at the Harrah's Casino parking lot. People gamble there all day everyday so they never look out.

Neighborhood from my experience for Gwar in March seems pretty relaxed.

Venue is pretty cool. I couldn't tell ya capacity but i've seen Gwar and All Shall Perish headline there so that might give ya an idea what size bands they bring in. Bar is upstairs and you can get a good view of the stage from just about anywhere

No Milwaukee date, SHOCKED. Anyways, has anyone been to Mojoe's in Joliet? How's the venue/neighborhood/parking, etc.?

I personally fucking hate the venue. I've been there about ten times and they've never started a show on time. The wait times for doors have varied from twenty minutes to an hour and a half after the supposed opening time.

Neighborhood around the venue is fine. Occasional homeless dudes (the sax guy is the best), but not too bad. A couple blocks down is really ghetto-y though.

There's a free (I think) parking garage a block or two away, but I usually park in the Route 66 Museum parking lot because I'm hardcore. :D

Well, looks like I'll have to wait until the next time they stop by the House of Blues in Hollywood or something, I definitely can't get to Anaheim. Hopefully this will mean more regular touring from these guys though! I wonder if Tim Yeung is still playing these dates or will Pete be well enough by October to return?

Count me in. The grove is only 15 minutes away from my pad. I saw grave last year at the chain reaction and they kicked ass, but the addition of MA is good of an opportunity to pass up. :D

I'm surprised Grave is coming back so soon. Before their tour last year I don't think they had been to the west coast since the mid '90s. I'm excited to see them again though, they were incredible last year. :D

Also, it's kind of weird that the date here is at The Grove, which is a pretty large venue. The last two Morbid Angel shows (not including Scion Rock Fest) were at the House of Blues and the Key Club, both much smaller than The Grove. Granted, those dates were not part of an actual tour, but the House of Blues didn't even have to open up the balcony for the show. Just wondering how many tickets they are actually going to sell, especially when you figure that some of their fans will opt out of this tour for fear of them playing too much material off their recent crime against metalkind.

Thanks for the info. I'd really like to see Morbid Angel, but I don't know if I want to drive 2+ hours both ways on a school night, especially since I'm already doing it a week earlier. I guess I'll have to wait for the setlist.

This! So much more smaller and it is easily the smallest house of blues out of the three that i have attend(House of blues Anahiem, Hollywood, and San diego, with san diego being the largest out of all of them). I saw sepultura perform at all three house of blues, and the one in anahiem was definitely the most fun, and smallest, with a very bad turn out which made for an even more awesomely intimate evening. :D

Is that "Into The Grave", or something like that? I grabbed it for mass cheap on Amazon before seeing them last year and was disappointed with both album and live. Drumming is a major factor with what I listen to, and all of the beats were the same and nothing stood out to me at all. *blank emote*

I don't like how cramped the floor and surrounding area gets at the Sunset and Anaheim House of Blues. It makes it nearly impossible to get in and out between sets. Especially Sunset because all the merch booths are cramped, at least Anaheim has that upstairs bar area to chill in and where the merch booths are though.

They played Existo Vulgore at MDF, but not Day of Suffering. Its a pointless waste of valuable set time. If they really felt confident about Illud they would play Too Extreme and Radikult and not give a fuck what the crowd thinks or what people on the internet say, but instead they play the safe, boring songs from that album that no one wants to hear anyway. I'll admit Nevermore is a halfway decent song, but c'mon guys, a little Heaving Earth or Opening of the Gates never hurt anybody.

Two new songs in a fifteen song set (what it was intended to be) is not that big of a deal. You still got five from Altars of Madness, which is more than they were playing with Steve Tucker in the band.

I've seen MA a bunch of times, so at this point I've seen them play those same five songs from Altars, multiple times. I know those are "the hits," but they can afford to change it up, even if its still the same album. Why not play Suffocation, Visions from the Darkside, Damnation? I really wouldn't mind them switching up the setlist at all, even if they insist on sticking to A-D (and that kind of goes for all of the old guard, for me).

That sucks, but I can't say it's too surprising. The same thing happened when they were supposed to open for Pantera in 2001, they got denied entry and missed the Canadian dates. Eleven years later and I still haven't seen them - they haven't booked any dates in Western Canada since then, and I don't think they've played many (if any) dates elsewhere in the country either. Looks like I'll have probably have to travel to the States if I wanna see them.

Canadian border security can be real hardasses when it comes to denying bands entry into the country, unfortunately. Bands missing shows/tours due to this is fairly common.

If I recall correctly Morbid Angel was able to play Heavy MTL in 2011 and I know they played Toronto in 2006. Not sure if border security was just more restrictive this time around or something has changed regarding legal status of one or more members since then.
