I can finally debut my side project! We formed around January of 2011, just as a jam band between me and my good friend Matt Fields (Vocals/Guitar) since his main band had just split up. After a few months of jamming we decided we would take our band seriously, thus, Divinorum was formed!

We started recording our EP in January of this year, finishing the drum tracks in just a few hours. However, we had become cursed, the guitar tracks that were ALMOST completed about a month ago were deleted from the hard drive, so we had to restart that process over. After one night, we got our shortest and most aggressive song recorded, HUNGER!

Hunger will be on our upcoming EP Cursed, set to debut sometime this Summer via one of our friends labels. Along with 3 other originals and a cover of Candlemass' classic, "Bewitched".

I hope you guys enjoy it! It is only a rough mix, but feel it has a great sound still. It is far different from our other tracks, because what we aim for is a more atmospheric blackened death sound, but, ENJOY!

Divinorum is:
Matt Fields - Vocals/Guitar
John Devos - Drums
Zach Palmer - Bass

Bands we have played with: Kampfar, Vreid, Necronomicon, Speedwolf, Witchaven, Master, Sacraficial Slaughter, Sorcery, Infintum Obscure

Welp things have been a bit crazy with us, but here are some quick updates...

- Playing the annual "Hail Santa" fest in Seattle, WA.
- Our bassist moved to LA, so in the mean time we are just Inquisitioning it.
- Still waiting to get our tape "Cursed" released and our more recent recording may be released before it
- Working on a cover of Watain's "Satan's Hunger" for Hail Santa, renaming it "Santa's Hunger"

I'll update the original post with update info once I get the time to :rocker:

I heard a rumor that Erik Danielsson of Watain is dating a chick from Seattle and is in town this week. Tonight Divinorum is playing a show tonight and doing a "Satan's Hunger" cover. It'd be so rad if he showed up and did vocals for us

Oops, never posted our Bandcamp page... well... here it is...

Anyway... news!
Our last bassist is now touring with a band who will remain nameless, so we have been trying to get a new one for all upcoming shows and recordings. The other day we jammed with a bassist (also named John :D ), and things are looking good. He has a very Cronos bass tone, and a very aggressive and raw style.

He will be (most likely) making his live debut with us at our next show, which is a House Show on March 8th. I am not a fan of house shows, but it should be fun... I hope.

Might be re-recording our "debut EP" since we have no clue what ended up happening to our original recording.

And yeah, that's about it for now :rocker:

Oh yeah, we should have our Descent tape coming out soon too. Both tracks can be found on our bandcamp page.

Updated our shows that we have coming up. We will be opening for Master next week, and then opening for Sorcery in April.

Upcoming Shows:
March 4, 2013 - 2 Bit Saloon - Master
March 8, 2013 - House Show - Exogorth & others.
March 16, 2013 - 2 Bit Saloon - Bloodhunger, Heathen Shrine
April 15, 2013 - Studio 7 - Sorcery

Nothing much else going on, the bassist we have been jamming with is full time now, and seems to be having a ton of fun with our music.

The Master sho was pretty awesome. Went a lot better than I expected, the House show.... eh, no comment, my throat is beyond messed up from all the smoke.

Had to cancel our other 2 Bit show, so all we have coming up is our show with Sorcery next month. Also, we had to let go of our bassist. He was a cool dude with a rad style, but we just didn't click with him musically. Luckily our friend Zach (ex Skelator, ex Scorched Earth) will be playing at least the Sorcery show with us :rocker: .

Well, just like it started, it has ended.

Divinorum is no more. It was a great 2.5 years, but with myself being so active with Funeral Age over the next few months (so far) I had to depart, it was only fair, I didn't want to hold the band back anymore than I already have. To my surprise though, our guitarist decided he didn't want to go on with Divi.

The band for me was only meant to be a side project, MAYBE a couple shows every now and then, but with my guitarist and bassists main band splitting up, they wanted to go full time with Divi and play tons of shows and tour and record and etc, which I do not have time for.

Anyway, it was fun, and I hope the other two are able to get something good going.
