I know this 30-date tour was announced a while ago, but I thought I'd bring to light something that I saw....

There's another date on Last.fm for Toronto on July 23rd (the day after the linked' Ohio one), so this seems to be a relatively true forming. I went last year to see them despite it being a 3hr-3:30 hr drive, but id prefer if they hit pittsburgh this time.

Yeah, man. Whatever. I made a pact with my best friend in 7th grade that I would take him to his first Metallica show since he's been a diehard fan since he's been 8 years old, and the first chance I have to do so, Agalloch books a show the same night.

Wow, this might seriously be a total conundrum. I don't know if either of the sites that I write for is gonna take care of Outside Lands for me, if they do I might be forced to miss Agalloch, but if they don't I'll miss Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Foo Fighters, Neil Young and Jack White. The idea of seeing all of those acts is crazy, but I truly have no clue when Agalloch will tour next. Does anyone know if they regularly tour the west coast or not?

Metallica haven't even announced what day of Outside Lands they'll be playing during, so there might be a chance to see both.

In my case, the problem isn't Metallica so much as it is the whole festival itself. Unless I'm only supposed to cover one of the three days, chances are it's either all of Outside Lands or Agalloch. Assuming one of the two sites I write for covers the ticket, I'll go with Outside Lands, otherwise I'll go to Agalloch. It'll be way cheaper, more intimate and chances are they'll play the best set out of anyone in SF that whole weekend.

They played Neumos (one of our bigger venues) a year and a half ago, then played El Corazon (about 1/3 the size of Neumos) on their last tour... now the Crocodile? I've been there once, i'd say its a little smaller than El Corazon... wtf!?

Why do they keep stepping down, the Neumos show was 21+ and that venue was packed. Oh well, get to see them this week anyway :D

We will continue to update this list as dates/venues and opening acts are confirmed.

Joining us for main support will be TAURUS (featuring Stevie Floyd of DARK CASTLE & Ashley Spungin ex-PURPLE RHINESTONE EAGLE). We are excited by their experimental and challenging music and feel they are a perfect fit for us: www.facebook.com/TAURUSISDUST

This tour will mark the release of our recently recorded EP “Faustian Echoes” on both LP and CD. We have taken great care in the design of this release. Sometime before the tour we will have both a streaming and digital download option available. However, the LP and CD versions will only be available at the shows during the dates on the tour and will be available via mail order after the tour.

We will be adding material (both new and old) to our set list and depending on stage time we anticipate playing between 90-120 minutes. The set will rotate each night. We have carefully selected local openers whose music fits the environment of an Agalloch show. Where there are no openers selected, we will play nearly 120 minutes. We are all personal fans of the openers and encourage everyone to show up early to see them.

We will have a variety of merchandise for sale including: 2 new shirt designs, our back catalog, “The Demonstration Archive,” “Marrow of the Spirit” vinyl, a tour poster by Stevie Floyd, original photographic prints by Veleda Thorsson, and various other odds and ends.

I went to the Fox once and it was a sold out show and the view was pretty poor. I also prefer a more intimate venue especially with a band like Agalloch. Sound is usually spot on at the Troubadour and there is free parking you just have to be willing to walk a few minutes. I have free parking spots for practically every venue in Hollywood/LA lol

They could probably fill up the Glass House but the Fox is way too big for them anyways.
