Nice to see Creeping Death back considering they should never play a show without it. I still don't get playing TBA backwards though.

Why aren't they opening with Enter Sandman? That would be really reminiscent of the Black Album tour. Ah well, I'm not seeing this so I don't really care, the songs outside of the Black Album are fairly good nonetheless.

Metallica are throwing a slight curveball by playing Black Album backwards, I totally dig it!!

Though, they could end the set with something else, I suppose...like, say, Ride the Lightning. Seems like they'll need to brush up on some of that stuff (especially Escape!) before the Orion festival.

I don't see anything wrong with playing it backwards. A lot of non-diehard Metallica fans probably don't want to hear the Struggle Within end the main set. I think those Holier Then Thou, Sad but True and Enter Sandman is a good way to finish.

Well, nothing says that if they do all TBA album that The Struggle Within needs to end the main set. They could do TBA after this first three songs and use Bell Tolls and Fight Fire to end the main set. Sandman doesn't always have to be the main set closer.

Maybe James will put Hatebreed on the Orion fest and Jasta can sing Escape for him!

Maybe James will put Hatebreed on the Orion fest and Jasta can sing Escape for him!I sincerely hope you're not serious. Knowing a lot about metal does NOT make you good at it.

This.

This set is better then the last one, but still, why play the album backwards?!

It's obviously so they can get The Struggle Within out of the way and done with as soon as possible, since it's completely shite and Metallica is probably ashamed of it. Or should be.

The Struggle Within is actually a pretty badass opener to the TBA set. See here:

They should have only played the album once, it's more exciting and special that way. Now people are expecting it....

Playing the Black Album backwards is fine since all the songs stand on their own, fucked up would be Pink Floyd playing the Wall backwards.

Glad that Metallica's SF show this August isn't part of this tour... unlike my friend with whom I am attending the show, I'm not interested in hearing the whole Black Album; I'd much rather prefer seeing Fade to Black, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Blackened, The Shortest Straw, Harvester of Sorrow, All Nightmare Long, The Day That Never Comes, Jump In the Fire, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and/or Creeping Death. However, I'd still like to see Wherever I May Roam, Holier Than Thou, and Sad But True :2cents:

Out of the songs you've mentioned the only ones i've never seen them do live are Jump In The Fire and Holier Than Thou.
