John Cobbett
Aesop Dekker
Mike Schiedt
Sigrid Sheie

Recording this fall for a debut full length on Profound Lore. I can't wait for this, easily my most anticipated release this year now. Has the potential to be way better than Ludicra. If you heard Mike's Black Metal side project you'd know that he's perfect for this.

This should be pretty cool. I'm not too experienced in the now defunct Ludicra but I dig "Path of Ash" alot. Plus, I'm a pretty big Agalloch fan, so anything Aesop does should be good.

Sweet, didn't know it was black metal. Should be great.

So a couple updates-

This project is called VHOL and the album's being recorded in the next couple months. It's gonna be have a super low-fi crust punk sound from what Justin Weis, the guy who's gonna master the album, told me that John Cobbett described it as. It's gonna have some acoustic guitars on it though, so I don't really know how what it's gonna be like for sure. This should be a real cool album though!

The album is mixed and is currently being mastered. Will be out in either March or April. They play their second show ever in San Francisco in December with Lawless.

Yeah the album is entitled "VHÖL" and will be out April 16th. With the vinyl out sometime later in the year also on Profound Lore. I recall reading somewhere that 9 songs will be on the effort. We should be getting a studio track debut sometime this month from Pitchfork, Stereogum or NPR I'm betting. In the meantime I found this on youtube that will keep me satisfied until then. My god will this be amazing.

That's weird, I could have sworn that ten tracks were mastered. John likes to do one bonus track for the vinyl editions for his bands, so maybe it'll be 9 for the CD and 10 for the vinyl. That song you posted actually wasn't one of the ones I got to hear. What I heard was a lot more straight thrashy.

Actually you know, if it's at Eli's you might be able to get in the same way I did last Friday. Arrive like an hour before the doors, find one of the VHOL dudes and offer to help load in. It worked for me, maybe it will for you too!

Guess I need to start listening to the album more to memorize the material.

If memory serves me right, John Cobbett isn't really into playing very long sets at all. I'll be amazed if they play more than 40 minutes or so.
