I really love the melodies in Revelations, so I guess I'll go with that one.

It's a toss up between Flight of Icarus and To Tame a Land, but I'll go with the former. This has recently become my favourite Maiden album, so I wouldn't mind hearing most of it (or at least, more than usual) on the upcoming tour.

Not really hard when you only listen to one band...

Hard choice, but I have to say Still Life; such a haunting tune and very underrated; such a great performance from the Maiden England video and I am hoping they play it for this summer

Not really hard when you only listen to one band...

For your information, and for every other smart ass that always bring this to me. I give a listen (and do enjoy) plenty of bands but none of them are good enough to make me waste valuable Iron Maiden listening time.

Haven't you see my 101 albums that changed my life thread ?

Cheers !

Why do you keep saying that? It was kinda funny the first time.

Easy! "The Trooper" Because if it weren't for this song I probably wouldn't be into Iron Maiden.

Exactly. When it comes to who you listen to it's about the quality of the bands material not how many bands you listen to. I'll take listening to a couple bands who's material is top notch over listening to 50 other bands who's material is just OK any day.

Quest For Fire and Sun & Steel are the only two down points on an otherwise perfect album. The rest of the songs on the album are as good as Maiden gets. It's a tough choice for me to pick my favorite but i'm going with Where Eagles Dare.

To Tame A Land!

Probably Revelations. WED, To Tame a Land, Trooper, Still Life all come to mind as possibilities though.

edit: I actually like QFF quite a bit but it definitely isn't even close to being the best song on this album.

That recurring riff at about 1:20 or so...

I like 'Quest for Fire', so fuck you all!

P.S. I don't know if it's actually my favorite song on the album, but I'm tired of it never getting any appreciation. No, it's no 'Caught Somewhere in Time', but god damn, it's a solid, fun song - all the more fun for its cheesiness. Laugh away!

Why is To Tame A Land so low? It has two votes at 5.88% Thought it would be higher.

Agreed. I think it's one of Maiden's more underrated songs. I'm actually really surprised by how many votes Revelations has. I like it, but I think it's actually one of the weaker tracks on the album.

Amazing album ! I can fully understand that every song could be someones favourite with the exeption on Sun & Steel and Quest For Fire, those are , at least to me, very under average for the mighty Maiden

Cheers !

I don't really understand what's wrong with Quest For Fire. Besides the lyrics, it's just as great as anything else on this album. The intro/outro riff is pretty cool, the verse riff is awesome, and the chorus is really catchy. It's a great Maiden song!

I like QFF but I can't say I like it more than any other song on this album, except maybe Sun and Steel. It's not so much that it's bad, it's just the dirty "good" slot on an album that utterly surpasses "good" in nearly all other songs.

I first saw Maiden in 1984 & I had to wait 21 years to see it live. I had tears of joy on both cheeks in Québec city & Toronto in 2005 when they played it.

Cheers !

For the longest time Revelations was my favorite but for the last 2 years or so To Tame a Land has been the one song that I always want to listen to from this album, so To Tame a Land was my vote.

Hey man, it's the answer I went with.

I think Maiden should alternate tours with Piece of Mind rotation. One tour they play The Trooper and the next tour they play Where Eagles Dare and To Tame A Land to make it up to the complainers or something like that.

However, despite not being a more die hard Maiden fan (I like it, i can sing along to most of it, but i don't really seek it out...) like several of the long time more active users of the board, this album is one I am least familiar with. Or rather, i've only listened to it in its entirety more recently than when first released.

Of course, this is Dickinson's second album and it could be argued that with the change of singer, Iron Maiden became anew and while their fourth in the entire discography, a more second album experience is heard by the listener. Following this release, of course, being Powerslave, but it is tough to pick just one.
