The Grand Conjuration

Like Madieneer, I will be only be posting this setlist. I did not get a chance to see Mastodon due to some bullshit circumstances and I hate Ghost. Anyways, Opeth played a better show tonight than they did last fall and this was my first time that I got to here one of top 5 songs from Opeth DEMON Of THE FALL. They played this track before the Grand Conjuration so they did change the setlist a little bit. I would have love to here Deliverance but oh well I am just glad I got to here DOTF. Also, the merch was pretty expensive so I only purchased an one Opeth Tour shirt.

Feels better that I didn't I go to this due to the lack of Deliverance. Behemoth was kind of meh honestly, I'll explain later. Setlist was average at best, and In Solitude and the Devils Blood bored the hell out of me. They were cheap ghost knock offs... And I could have seen the ACTUAL Ghost! :(

Both The Devil's Blood and In Solitude have been around longer than Ghost. But I'm curious about why Behemoth was meh.

Setlist. Short, and rather predictable. Pits were nothing special either. Amazing performance, though.

really? I thought the whole premise of their touring after the illness was Nergal deciding to play songs they never played anymore. I remember seeing some old black metal songs and even a song on Zos Kia Cultus that wasn't As Above So Below. Maybe that was just for the Polish tour?

Was a good show. Mastodon blew Opeth off the stage tonight.
Even though they played the.same setlist as they have recently, Mastodon really performed well and captivated the audience. (and this is coming from a dude wearing an Opeth tshirt. By the way, ghost were very entertaining.

Define "expensive". When I saw Opeth in October, their shirts were in the $20 - $30 range, so I'm assuming that didn't change much.

I really wanted to go to this since I'm just now really getting into Mastodon and LOVE Ghost. Really don't care for Opeth but tickets were to expensive for me to just buy one right now.

Most of the shirts were $30, I wish they were at least $25.

Demon of the Fall, damn it I'm so pissed off they didn't played in Santiago, instead of Deliverance which was the encore of the 2009 show, anyway, I got more songs, though :D next time

I can honestly say i enjoyed all 3 bands. First time ever seeing Ghost and i loved them and very well look forward to when they come back to the States. Haven't seen Opeth since Gigantour in 2006 and this was a way better show since they didnt have to only play 4 songs. Mikael even responded to one my comments when screaming from the crowd. Love that man. Ive seen Mastodon twice prior, first time at Unholy Alliance in 06 and i thought they kicked ass. 2nd time at the Metro in 09 playing Crack The Skye front to back, while i love that album, looking back the clean vocals were lacking not that that's news to anyone. BUT, that album for me doesnt translate in a live setting, almost like watching a play. But friday night, ya i know they played almost the entire album of The Hunter, but the clean vocals sounded WAY better. The songs from The Hunter translate live better. Hand Of Stone from Blood Mountain was a nice surprise as well as Aqua Dementia from Leviathan. Minor bummer no Remission songs as i love that album. Bringing back Blood And Thunder was great too! Even songs i never thought they would play live from The Hunter sounded great too. Cheers to a killer show.

Great fucking show! The Ghost tunes definitely have more punch live than what comes through on the album. My first time seeing Opeth, and while the setlist is a tad disappointing, they sounded flawless. Mike's vocals are spot on. Mastodon stole the show...The Hunter songs are perfect for a live performance. I even walked home with one of Brann's sticks :rocker:
