Thanks, it's good to know. Attendance all depends on the set, it would have to be quite a shakeup from the prior tour to add any real value.

I've seen them six times, and they've been unable to match their performance on the Train of Thought tour ever since.

Still good on several of the other occasions, just not AS good.

Are there any openers named yet I wonder or an evening with (I'm probably getting greedy but I can dream). Didn't know if that King Crimson thing was a 1 off or whole tour.

Playing at a sit down theater in Chicago. So everyone can more comfortably masturbate to Petrucci, I presume?

they always do sit down places here

it was awkward because no one would stand up during Periphery

Chicago Theater is the place they usually play. They played it there on their tour with them and Zappa Plays Zappa.

The Paramount is typically a GA place, but they have put seats on the floor in the past. I hope they don't for DT, though.

I assume the Columbus show will be at the outdoor stage, which is awesome, because that's all GA. I haven't been to a true GA DT show in ages, because they always play places with seats anymore.

Well, actually that's not true, I forgot Prog Nation I.

might go to this, saw them for the first time last october and they were great. Would love if they kept the setlist similar to the ones they've been playing the last few months.

Tell me about it. I've been waiting for them to add a 2nd leg to this tour since they didnt come here on the first and still zero dates for Canada.

I'll be going to the show in Lewiston, NY. It's a small no name town about a half hour from where I live and is right on the border of the US/Canada. So, I do consider it odd that they would get booked there even though it is a nice venue.

Both venues for the Lewiston show and the one in Rochester have like a 5,000 capacity. Does anyone else think it's a bit amibitious that they're getting booked at such big venues? When i've seen them on their own before in this area they played a 1,000-1,500 capacity venue. I know they have their dedicated following but i'm not sure they'll be able to fill those venues up all the way.

5,000 is a little ambitious for them I think, they got maybe 1,250 people here in December. Granted the show was not even really advertised so I bet a lot of people didn't even know they were here

The Starlight Theater in KC has capacity of around 7,700 and I see them if not selling it out will be pretty damn close. They haven't done KC that I recall since Systematic Chaos came out. Long overdue.

No way. They don't even do 7700 people in the bigger markets like Chicago. I think the most they've ever done in the US headlining was in Los Angeles and that was around 4500, so there is no chance they will sell that out.

Last time in KC they did 1216 at Uptown Theater on 8/6/07.

When I saw them on the last Progressive Nation tour they played at the Greek Theatre, which has a capacity of 5,900, and it didn't sell out.

I work at the theater they played in Dallas and it's capacity is 6300 and we didn't even open the upstairs since it only sold about 2200. Wasn't advertised at all but still

Incorrect sir. Rush didn't have any other bands on the Time Machine tour. The KC review just said Portnoy happened to be in KC @ the show. http://backtorockville.typepad.com/back_to_rockville/2010/07/review-rush.html#more

I think the guy who said it was '07 @ Uptown is correct.

Also I don't think it was ever specified but the Crimson Projeket is opening all the dates on the NA tour. I haven't listened to a ton of them but I am quite curious about this now.

Hmm, this could be cool, but I am very wary of anything King Crimson related that doesn't involve Robert Fripp.

About time they went back to doing evening with shows.

They never should've stopped it to begin with. I've said it before on here but the evening with format is the way Dream Theater's music is meant to be played live. I'm still wondering if it's a misprint though since their web page doesn't have anything yet and an opener has been announced. Maybe the opener had to pull out of the tour?

EDIT: The first three shows of this tour don't have an opener. I wonder why they just didn't make the whole tour an evening with?
