- He doesn't want to be inducted
- He doesn't want other members to speak on behalf of him
- He said that he was in negotations for a while, but didn't feel like that he was welcome...

Well, in before teh "dis current gunz is at least as goodiez". Not that I think that the RNR HOF is honouring the right bands every year, but please.

I got this from a Belgian newspaper, you can find the article (in Dutch) on www.hln.be

Winner of the "Douche of the Year"... AXL ROSE!
Wow, that's really pathetic on his behalf.

Normally, I agree that he can be too extreme, but I don't think so here. He's just going to be bombarded with everything reunion related, and as much as I'd love the reunion to happen, he doesn't have to if he doesn't want to. He probably wouldn't feel welcome there, and I wouldn't blame him for skipping it.

Damn it Axl, let someone else have the honor for once!

Atleast he didn't decide last minute to not show up at all. he actually took the time to write it all out. I don't blame him one bit.

True, but I think he's doing it because he's a dickass, not for the sake of boycotting the HOF.

This. He didn't feel that he was welcome, but they invited him... :tp:

Anyway, I have some artists that really NEED to be in that HOF:

Metal/hardrock:

Kiss
Rush
Iron Maiden
MOTORHEAD
Deep Purple
GLENN HUGHES
DIO

Alternative:

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Pixies

But that's for another thread maybe ;)

I agree but still...

I mean, I'd be flattered if a band I was in was nominated or inducted, but as a listener, I don't need an establishment like the Hall of Fame to tell me what bands should be considered legendary or whatnot.

What do you think of my "these should be in it"-list :D

Agree with every single one of them except Glenn Hughes, since I don't even know who he is.

Don't care for any of those bands except Sabbath, and that's only the Ozzy + Dio albums.

Check him out though. Ravenheart will agree that he's an extremely underrated artist.

How in the hell do you not like Deep Purple. Listen to Burn, that song alone is godly.

HoF threads always devolve into "I think this band is good, therefore I think it's a travesty they're not in the HoF."

I don't really care who gets in, but I would love it if they NEVER induct KISS.

I would too, but for a different reason. the bands that never get inducted are cooler than the one's that do.

As long as you realize that there's more in music than Iron Maiden it's all good.

Can't wait to see footage/video's from the GNR induction.

Used to love Machine Head (the album), but I haven't listened to them in ages.

That's kinda cool, still sucks that Axl probably threw a fit over this. I'd be interested to see if "The Axl Band" or "The Other Guys" would do better touring.

well I found some bad quality bootleg footage of the 3 songs they played if anyone wants to see...

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Live - Footage - Higher Ground - Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame 2012 With Slash! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQM3WtsgO-E

Guns N Roses - Live Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame 2012 Mr. Brownstone Sweet Child O' Mine Paradise City! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8WBYd8cwFs

It's an obvious choice, for sure. He sucks at singing GN'R stuff though (in before "so does Axl"). For some reason his voice is horribly flat whenever he does it. Since he started singing with Slash he seems to have lost all the dynamics in his voice.

I noticed the same thing. Especially with that new album they did. The first single is so generic and boring

I noticed it most when I saw them live and they played stuff he didn't sing originally. He was bad at all of it, including the Snakepite stuff.

Proving Myles Kennedy is a fucking God, by turning my least favorite GNR song into something that is worth listening to.

Plus almost everyone attached toe the original GNR lineup helps as well:

I would pay to see the lineup that played at the Hall of Fame. 3 orginal members is better than 1.

Myles is a very good singer, I don't care that there's a guy who played with Lita Ford in the current GNR. I still don't know what's so special about his guitar skills either, but I guess I'm the only one.

Almost all the other members have released a significant amount of new material, and he hasn't done a thing between 1994 & 2008, aside from touring and getting on stage 12 hours later. It's going to be the same all over again: he's already working on a new album, CD was going to be the first of a trilogy etc.

Sorry, I can't take someone like that seriously.
