View Full Version : Hammond Indiana Summer Rock Shows (Actually good bands)

So apparently this summer Hammond Indiana is doing a rock show every month at their little outside arena. The tickets are $50 for Hammond residents and $60 otherwise for all 3 shows. Only 5,000 tickets will be available.
Bands are :
Foreigner in June
Styx in July
And Cheap Trick in Aug.
Not really a bad deal.

For $50, I'd go for sure.

Styx is a great band these days without DeYoung.

So I open this thread expecting good bands and the first one I see is Styx, I am disappoint.Me too. My wife is from Highland, Indiana, which is right next to Hammond. I could have easily convinced her to go home to visit her family there and seen some of these bands, but considering who they are, I think I'll pass.
Funny thing is, I saw Styx on a gig not unlike this a few years back. They were playing a free show at a small town summer festival in the greater Cincy area, and we were there visiting my wife's cousin, so we went. It was fun for what it was.
...and for the record, I've always liked Foreigner and Cheap Trick as well, I'm just not willing to try to get my wife to travel for them. I'll wait for a more metal show instead.
Anybody who does decide to go to this - I would suggest hitting up Zel's at 6909 Columbia Avenue in Hammond while you're there - they have the best fucking Italian beef sandwiches in the state, in my opinion. :fist:

I like Foreigner... but do not like Cheap Trick or Styx at all. Skipped seeing both last year.
