Well it sure looks like the quality of Heavy MTL/Heavy TO has taken a steep dive.

I'd fly for sure. I've never been to Montreal before and have only ever been in the Toronto airport, so I'd definitely get lost driving.

If this was still 2000 I'd be stoked. Hopefully the rest of the lineup is better. Glad to see Slipknot on there though.

If the rest of this year's lineup doesn't completely wow me I'll go next for sure. It's on my bucket list to go to a big weekend long metal festival and Heavy MTL seems like the best option without international travel.

This. I don't mind SOAD's first 3 albums, but can't stand those "albums" they put out in '05. Also, they're one of the biggest bunch of confused hyprocrites I can think of in the music biz. And whine asses, please don't make me go into detail on why.

I liked the last 2 albums but hated "Steal This Album"

anyway I always just hope they don't do a major tour because I'm sick of idiots assuming they'll do every US tour ever

I was wondering if I'd be able to survive Heavy TO after going to Wacken this year, but I guess they're making the decision easy for me.

Unless the rest of the bands are all amazing, I don't see myself going to this again.

The Heavy TO lineup doesn't seem to have as many bands, but I'm hoping we also get Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Despite what I said earlier, I'm definitely going on Sunday for Cannibal Corpse. I'm on the fence about Saturday because Overkill is playing Wacken too, and they are the main draw for me on that day.

Slipknot, SOAD, Killswitch engage, Lamb of God, Gojira, and Kataklysm are enough for me to go. And Downsview Park is huge, so if there's bands playing that I hate then I'll walk around, take a shit in an outhouse, or bu some overpriced underflavoured food.

multiple people on the fest's facebook are claiming these bands were added and "advertised in the press this morning". trivium and emmure as part of trespass america obviously, but deftones is a little surprising. one off studio break perhaps?

Voivod
Trivium
Dance Laury Dance
Emmure

Here are the bands added to Heavy TO:

Battlecross also has been added, this has not been confirmed by Heavy MTL but Battlecross posted on MTL FB page stating they are playing on the 11th then playing T.O on the 12th. I am thinking they will add Cerebal bore (SS) and PopEvil, God forbid (Trespass America) Also High on Fire is out.

high on fire pulled out of mayhem and all other touring nearly 2 weeks ago, and then apparently were going to still play the heavy fests, but now arent again. i cant blame you for missing this since it got buried immediately in the mayhem thread by a million pages of people speculating ridiculous bands to take over their slot.

The schedule is up: http://groupes.heavymtl.com/user/163319/schedule/2012/08/11

Origin overlaping with Deftones, Exhumed with BTBAM and Voivod with Slipknot kinda suck, but the rest is decent.

AnthG
07-17-2012, 05:11 PM
That sucks about the overlap for MTL. There's no overlap for Toronto, I guess due to having a lot less bands.

http://lineup.heavyto.com/events/2012/08/11/

Kind of surprised to see Dethklok getting 2nd billing ahead of Manson and Lamb of God, though I guess that's due to their light show and stuff. The way they had the bands listed it looked like it was gonna be Dethklok, Lamb of God, Manson, and Slipknot in that order. I guess that just means a longer water/piss/food/merch break between Lamb of God and Slipknot.

Someguy89
