I want to learn electric bass one day, and my dream is a Rick 4001/4003.
5. Tom Hamilton - Aerosmith

Just take Sweet Emotion, his signature song. The added bass marimba gives it a certain crunch.
He seems a fun guy too.

4. Ian Kilmister (Motörhead)

Also known as "Lemmy", or so I heard. :D ;)
He's not the most technical player and he's actually a guitarist, but he has a unique sound, made out of customized Rickenbackers (and Marshalls). They made a signature model, the 4004 LK:

Would love to get one, but it was produced in VERY limited quantities.
The word icon was invented for him.

He influenced my number 5!
What can I say? Not the most famous face of Zep, he gave the band a thunderous foundation.

Should be an inspiration for any metalhead, as he was part of a certain band that created our beloved genre.
Heavy, pumping bass lines, great stage performance. Did he play the parts on "Heaven & Hell"? I believe so...
Favourite track: Iron Man

The last four are all great choices. Man, Lemmy's bass is sweet.

Number 5 is criminally underrated.
