According to thePRP, Job For A Cowboy have named their next studio album Demonocracy. The LP, which was produced by Jason Suecof and the Audiohammer team, comes out via Metal Blade on April 10th. While I haven't heard the release yet, people who have, whose opinion I trust, say this is some of the best music JFAC has ever put out. I can't wait to hear it. The rumor is the band will be one of the final few announced for this year's Summer Slaughter, so they will be out and about promoting the shit out of this release. If you are the type of person that enjoys reading track listings months before hearing the songs, you're in luck:

01 – “Children Of Deceit“
02 – “Nourishment Through Bloodshed“
03 – “Imperium Wolves“
04 – “Tongueless And Bound“
05 – “Black Discharge“
06 – “The Manipulation Stream“
07 – “The Deity Misconception“
08 – “Fearmonger“
09 – “Tarnished Gluttony“

If it tops Gloom, I'll be happy. ;)

I concur. Gloom was without a doubt the best material they have made to date. Very excited to hear this.

This. Gloom sounded like The Black Dahlia Murder, not like the JFAC I love.

Exactly my thoughts. I don't like JFAC's old shit but I thought Ruination was cool.

Looking forward to hearing this. Not vehemently, just somewhat. Ruination was solid. Not a big fan of Johnny's vocals, though.

I didn't hate Gloom, but I'm hoping for more of a Ruination sound.

Hey, give me a break, I speak French. It's true I loved Ruination, it has a really dark feel and the riffs are crushing.

agreed. new song is sweet. Tony S is their new lead guitarist and they got Nick from Cephalic Carnage on bass and it seems like those additions benefitted this band greatly.

Lotta cool stuff goin on in this song

New song makes me feel better about them being on Summer Slaughter. They've definitely progressed a lot musically.

Am I the only one who doesn't love the new vocal sound? :eyes: He's good but maybe I'm just not used to them. Other than that the song was really great. I'll probably pre-order it.

Uh... pretty sure that's the vocalist they've always had. And he's always been pretty sub-par, the only thing keeping me from loving their stuff.

YESSSSSS!

As for the vocals, he did change them slightly between Ruination and now. I his screams sound more "tortured" than before and I personally love them.

Wow, that was pretty good. Definately better than anything on Gloom. More Ruination sounding. Hopefully they play some new songs live this Friday in Albany.

+1 very well played. I gotta give you that one. I googled Savage Animal and best I got was a couple U2 albums and Animal from the muppets.

I really liked the album. It's seems like they're going in a slightly more black metal direction and it works well with the Ruination sound. Hopefully it alienates more of their shitty fans

Hmm. Listened to it last night, and I was actually bored. I miss the groove that they used to have; it just feels like fast, generic death metal now. Maybe I just need to listen to it again.

That's how I felt about Ruination. The songs I heard from this album sounded no different. I think Genesis was their best work.

Post-Doom JFAC is a completely band for all intents and purposes. I liked certain parts of certain songs from Doom, especially What We Once Called Home, but as a whole I thought it was painfully boring to get through.

Word. I like Entombment, but that's it from Doom.

That song isn't even on Doom either, it's on their Demo.

Personally I'd go with Doom > Gloom > Demonocracy (fuck that title) > Ruination > Genesis.

My pre-order finally came today so I just checked it out and I think it's great. Easily the best thing they have done so far. It's a lot faster and there are quite a few awesome riffs on here. After 1 spin, "Noruishment Through Bloodshed, "Tongueless and Bound", "The Manipulation Stream" (my absolute JFAC favorite song not only on this album, but ever) and "The Deity Misconception" are my faves on the record.

I think Gloom was their last effort I could really get into. Not that this album is bad, its just all too similar for me.
