Nice! Finally at the shoreline too. We get Coheed instead of Alice, which is lame because I don't ever think I'll go to just see Alice and this would have been a perfect opportunity, but it's still good enough for me.

Jones Beach definitely, and Newark is a possibility too. One indoor, one outdoor, cool beans.

Crowds suck at Jones Beach (Long Island in general), I'm really surprised they are doing it again, I thought 2003 would be the last time that happened.

This is some of the best news I've ever heard. I've never seen Maiden before, and Seventh Son is my favourite album of theirs. On top of that, there's Alice Cooper, who is my favourite artist ever :D

I really hope they play "Infinite Dreams". It's easily one of their best songs, and this tour seems like the most likely place to play it.

We pretty much got regular shows on their tours up until then.

Jesus H. Christ, do you people understand we could be hearing Infinite Dreams, The Prisoner, Still Life, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son all in one show besides the other stuff? That's enough to make me fall to my knees and weep like a little girl!

They said they would do 2/3 of the Maiden England set, so it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they left off Heaven Can Wait, NOTB, The Clairvoyant, or hell even Killers if it's at the expense of the ones I mentioned before.

I doubt they will drop those 3...Killers probably won't make it. I think Still Life will get dropped. And as much as I want it...I don't think they will do SSOASS. I just don't think Bruces voice can handle it for a tour.

Nobody answered me earlier, how is the set gonna be different from SBIT if most of the post-Powerslave songs they played are on Maiden England?

Maidenmagic
02-15-2012, 04:22 PM
They'll most likely whip up
Killers
Stranger in a strange land
Infinite dreams
Seventh son of a Seventh son
Still life
Die with your boots on
The prisoner
Possibly:
Flight of Icarus
Caught somewhere in time
Alexander the great
To tame a land

Including the standards, they'll be no room for Wasted years, the evil that men do, can I play with madness etc. Don't worry. The set will be different from SBIT.

I doubt Powerslave will get represented besides maybe 2 Minutes to Midnight. And I doubt Somewhere in Time will get any different representation. But Seventh Son will get the most difference. Wouldn't be surprised if they did 5 off the album (Moonchild, Infinite Dreams, Madness, Evil that Men Do, Clairvoyant). Plus we will probably get the Prisoner, which will be a nice addition to the main 3 that we normally hear.

Seventh Son is probably my favorite album ever, and Infinite Dreams is certainly my favorite song ever. Even if they pull some lame shit by making the 2/3 include mostly staples it will be incredible, but if they bust out the Seventh Son rarities it will be beyond fucking awesome.

Maiden is actually playing Buffalo:eek: Someone in their management must've finally been told that the city still exists:D

This is gonna be awesome though. Maiden and Cooper are two on my favorites of all time and I get to see them on the same night. Plus, it's the re-creation of the Seventh Son tour which is my favorite album from them. I doubt they'll play Seventh Son since I don't think Bruce's voice can hit those notes and hold them like that anymore.

The first four off Seventh Son and The Clairvoyant I think are more than likely what they'll play from it:rocker:

Yes, I would definitely go, but honestly I doubt we'll see anything else in the way of surprises, not that I think this set is lacking in them anyway.

I mean from SSOASS you have the title track and Infinite Dreams, plus Moonchild as well, despite the SBIT appearance in '08. It just so happens that this album spawned 3 songs that stayed in many Maiden sets for years (Clairvoyant, Madness, and Evil), so there's not exactly a ton of gems to dig up from that specific album.

And beyond that, you've got Killers, The Prisoner, and Die With Your Boots On. Yes, they've been played from time to time over the years, but overall I would definitely consider them relatively rare. They also did Still Life on Maiden England, but I don't quite see it happening for some reason. Also, let's not forget that Wasted Years, despite how popular of a Maiden song as it is, has only been played on 4 tours in Maiden's entire history (SIT, SSOASS, Ed Hunter, and SBIT).

If they really are going for a Maiden England theme, I don't see how they could get more special than what I posted. The press release said "about 2/3 of Maiden England", which would be about 10 songs, I have even more than that. I also recall some indication that they are going to intend to pander a little bit to people who want to hear hits, hence my inclusion of 23:58, Trooper, and Run to the Hills, none of which were on Maiden England. I wouldn't be surprised if they did Wrathchild instead of Killers. Also, let's not forget that of course they'll feel obligated to play Fear of the Dark, even if it's inappropriate.

They said they are going to play 2/3rds of the original 7th Tour of a 7th Tour set and those songs are basically ones they haven't played in a long time. So my guess for those are...

- Moonchild
- Infinite Dreams
- Can I Play With Madness
- The Evil That Men Do
- Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
- The Clairvoyant
- The Prisoner (My favorite song)
- The Trooper
- Still Life
- Wasted Years

As for the other songs, they said they are going to put in some greatest hits and fan favorites. So I'm guessing...

- Iron Maiden
- The Number of the Beast
- Hallowed Be Thy Name
- 2 Minutes to Midnight
- Fear of the Dark

1. Caught Somewhere in Time
2. Two Minutes to Midnight
3. The Trooper
4. The Prisoner
5. Killers (PLEASE)
6. Infinite Dreams
7. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (DOUBLE PLEASE)
8. Still Life (TRIPLE PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP)
9. Children of the Dammed
10. Stranger in a Strange Land (4X PL...you get the point)
11. The Number of the Beast
12. Iron Maiden
13. Run to the Hills (sucka for the classics, what can I say)
14. Hallowed Be Thy Name
15. Alexander the Great (really pushing it)
16. Running Free (yes did it in 2010/11, but fuck it)

Considering this is a rebbot of the seventh son tour there is no way in hell they don't play Moonchild, Madness and Clairvoyant.

If there was another close show with a lawn (aka PNC Bank Arts Center) I would get lawn tickets for that one, but yeah, one set of $100 tickets is enough for me. Yeah, i'm not sure where the poster is getting that price for lawn tickets. There was only one show up on ticketmaster when I checked it earlier today and it said tickets range from $92-$26.50. So it should be something like that for all the shows. Lawn is never more than $25-$30 for pretty much any band. This. They played Sweden Rock a few years ago, main stage, no crowd. Had to resport to covering 'The Trooper' to get any reaction at all, then closed the set with a drum solo and everyone fucked off again.

Damn! It's on the 4th of July and my dad and I sell LED light up novelties and that's our biggest selling day of the year. :( Oh well. I guess making $2,000 in an hour is more important than seeing Maiden. I'm still not giving up hope for Rockfest or a MN date. And even though both fests are in WI., they are a few weeks apart and Maiden are going to NY on 2 different dates that are about the same distance apart so I'm still open to anything being possible.

Looking at the dates and some of their more recent tours, I'd say Maiden quite enjoy having days off. They don't really do long strings of shows in a row like a lot of smaller bands. I wouldn't count on it.

This.

I remember seeing an interview with Ron Smallwood where he said the band need the breaks to make sure they're tight as they can be, and as well, it gives them time to sort out production emergencies, which, with a show like theirs, happen a lot with so much to transport, and even an extra half a day can make a huge difference. I'd imagine they may still do three days in a row at some points, but that'd be for a very specific reason!

there are 4 songs out on the original tracklist of Maiden England that haven't been played since

now, Infinite Dreams and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son are pretty much garanteed. Seventh Son will be the climax of the show like Rime was in '08/'09. Infinite Dreams is one of the most demanding songs ever for Brucey but no way they are not doing it. People are craving for it sing it came out. It so amazing too.

I really hope they do Still Life and The Prisoner too, but those 2 imho are not 100% sure. That's 4 songs not played live for 23 years. 4 amazings songs that would get the crowd go nuts. Let's hope for them all

I don't think Infinite Dreams will be that hard for Bruce to do now. I'm more worried about him being able to pull off and hold all the "Ooooooohs" in Seventh Son night after night. I see that being way more demanding and will be most impressed if he can do that. Bruce is still a very good singer but there's no doubt his range isn't as good now as it was when they last played Seventh Son live.

a matter of perception but to me it's way more easier to keep the oooooooooooooohs going on 7 Th Son that to blast full power on this with almost no break:

Someone Chasing I cannot Mooooooooove

But would I like to get too far in?

I agree with everything in your post it would awesome if they did all 4 songs you listed

Something I have come to realize over the 2 times I have seen Maiden is that they are a smart band. They work hard to keep everyone in top touring shape and while age has robbed a little bit of Bruce's voice he is still one of the best still. I know that Maiden is also very smart at crafting their setlists, fan bitching aside, in that they don't want to not do Justice to a song(s) for themselves and their fans. From the 2 shows I have been to and what I have seen on youtube is that the band is always playing in top form, be it singing, guitars, or drums.

That is why I am so looking forward to August 13th in that even if they don't play some songs I hope for, the performance will be great no question

Even though most on here would feel that it's a bit overplayed, they didn't do Can I Play With Madness either time I saw them so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing that one.

Are you serious? I love that song and hope to god they play it.

Man i hope its not the Pepsi Center. I just can't get into arena shows anymore. They were great at Fiddler's Green a couple years ago.

I love to see Maiden in an arena but I like the Woodlands pavilion so It would be great if that is the confirmed venue.

I agree with you I was at the show in 2010 and it was awesome, I'd rather it be at Fiddlers

(and no you cannot make me call it what it is called now *shudders*)

Even the official site has the venue for Houston listed as The woodlands/Toyota Center.
They better know where they're going before tickets go on sale!

Will be a lot easier to get on the floor at Toyota than in the pit at the Woodlands. That pit is abnormally small for a shed.

Yeah I noticed that. Thank god they're not a thrash band. No way you could Probably mosh/have a circle pit in that thing.

The Woodlands lists the show on their site, so I hope it is there.

Thanks for that! When I last checked it didn't have the ticket sale date or the 7:30 show time.

Anyone have an idea when the general sale for the Boston show is?

Also, I found that it's not even in Boston, it's in Mansfield, which is closer to Providence, RI.

I am pretty sure it's going to be March 3rd, but I'm not 100%. Also, I could have told you the show wasn't in Boston, I must have missed your intial posts in this thread.

It's no biggie. An extra 45 minutes on top of a 3 1/2-4 hour drive is nothing.

Looks like one of my coworkers is coming with me. Should be fun.
