Holy shit yes! Slow and heavy, just like Nothing. My favorite album of theirs. This is gonna be crazy good.

A big resounding "Meh" to that song.

Has it been taken down already? What the fuck.

Edit: nevermind... so far nothing too exciting. The more recent Meshuggah albums only have a couple bangers anyway so I'll hold judgement.

Saw a post on facebook saying the song is track 7, "Break These Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion". Just a FB post, who knows....

Just because it might not be the most brutal Meshuggah track, doesn't mean I dont have it on repeat all night :stoned:

I was never a huge fan of these guys. All my friends lose their shit over them I never really "got it" I guess. This song is meh. Nothing special.

I have to admit that I'm a pretty big Meshuggah fanboy, but I'm not sure what to think about this one. It's a bit repetitive and slow, which is probably what's provoking all the "boring" comments and the like. I get that.

It IS pretty brutally heavy, though. I have a feeling it might be somewhat of a sleeper when played live. In other words, I thought Lethargica was pretty boring until they played it live in Chicago a few years ago, and now I realize how fucking awesome it really is.

This might end up being a similar track. Who knows.

I fully expect the album as a whole to rock fucking balls, though. I just can't see them doing a whole album's worth of songs like this one. It's an interesting departure, but I have faith that the bangers are coming, as The Tony has prophesied. :fist:

That middle part of Lethargica = the heaviest song ever fucking made. Never boring.

Didn't hate it. I think it would be a lot better if it were like ~4 minutes.

Lol maybe this is what Meshuggah needs: http://www.theprp.com/2012/02/10/news/emmure-frontman-would-love-to-sing-meshuggah-songs/

Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri has taken to his Twitter to express his apparent Meshuggah love. He stated:

“I would love to sing over a bunch of Meshuggah songs…”

Yeah, "meh". It's good enough, I don't expect to be disappointed by this album but I don't expect to be blown away either.

Let me put it this way... I can only enjoy a few of those songs unless I'm in the mood for Meshuggah.

Same thing, with the title and lyrics here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P68fmKQJ-6g)

Another new track streaming. Do Not Look Down.

Little shorter track. I'm guessing others on here might like this a little bit more than the first track they posted.

Still not terribly impressed... seems like they're coasting with the same sound they had on obZen.

I forgot about checking this out until tonight. Like The Tony, I'm not blown away yet, but I would daresay I like this better than the first track they posted. It is pretty reminiscent of obZen, though. It reminds me of Lethargica...during the mid-section of the track, at least.

Neither one of these is anything special, I hope the rest of the album isn't such a letdown.

Oh ye of little faith. :nonono:

Yes, Catch 33 was a bit of a departure, but obZen was an immediate return to the punishing and brutal Meshuggah we all know and love. It was my AOTY in 2008 for that very reason. I for one see no cause to start panicking just yet. If it sucks, it sucks. I'll admit it, and I'll be sad - but I'm not expecting it to suck. Granted, these two song samples aren't stellar, but still. It's fucking Meshuggah.

SamplesWell.

Some better-sounding stuff than the first two tracks they posted (although "Do Not Look Down" didn't sound all that bad). Tracks #1, #2, #6 and #9 sound like they have some pretty good potential, and #8 sounds fucking awesome.

Overall, though, this doesn't sound like it's going to shape up to be better than obZen. Still, I've got to hear all of the tracks in their entirety before I make that statement for sure.

Yeah... I really enjoyed the faster stuff (2 and 8), but I'm not sure how I feel about most of the others. Chances are I'll fall in love with it after a couple full listens, like Nothing. Just gotta wait and see now.

EDIT: ooooh, I really like Demiurge. Could be a really killer slow one.
