Today legendary death metal legion CANNIBAL CORPSE are pleased to announce their U.S. headlining tour. Brought to you by Metal Blade Records, Good Fight Entertainment and dB Drum Shoes, the U.S. Torture Tour 2012 will commence on April 5 in Jacksonville, Florida and level 23 stages before coming to a close on May 3 in Gainesville, Florida. Support on the near month-long trek will be provided by Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn and Arkaik.

Said bassist Alex Webster of the upcoming shows: “We’re psyched to hit the road with Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik in April! This is a full-on death metal tour that we know all of our fans will love. Prepare for an evening of relentless aural punishment!”

Fuck yeah you should man!

I'm still in shock though but this line up is killer. Exhumed are always beasts live and Abysmal Dawn killed it live with Obscura too.

I'm guessing these are dates Summer Slaughter might miss.

Well they're gonna hit up those markets on Summer Slaughter, so I'm not too shocked that they aren't coming around here.

By a miracle I might consider OKC date. This tour + Behemoth & Watain. Looking pretty sexy. Not gonna lie.

Wichita? Columbia? Really dawg? Really?Oh, quit your whining. I've driven three hours to see shows before (for example, Baroness in Detroit). Hell, I've even driven as far as five-plus (Chicago for Meshuggah, Giant Squid / Grayceon, Yakuza, Arch Enemy...and MDF was seven hours).

You pussy. :finger:

for example, Baroness in Detroit

I was at that show. :fist:

But, of course we didn't meet in person until I moved to Texas.

A 6.5 hour drive to Lubbock for me would mean taking at least one day off of work; maybe two. Not worth it. Saw both CC and Exhumed late last year anyway and at least CC will be back for Summer Slaughter if not both bands.

We drove 15 or so hours straight through to Wakarusa the first year we went.

I'm not bummed they're not coming here, this just gives me more reason to believe Exhumed is on Summer Slaughter.

Not enough bands hit the smaller markets, so this tour is actually pretty cool. With Cannibal Corpse on Summer Slaughter and Exhumed already having toured extensively last year, there's really no reason for people to complain about this tour not coming to their area.

Exhumed hasn't played South Florida yet in the past year

And they probably haven't played in Montana either. Point being, you just live in a really shitty place for music. ;)

But you said no reason for people to complain and last time I checked, I'm a person

Definitely need to hit this up. Anyone who has been to the Lincoln Theater, is it a good venue?

There are always exceptions. There are a ton of places they haven't hit. Do you think that Cannibal Corpse has played in Montana in recent years? Or ever? My point was just that they are hitting a lot more places than most bands do when they tour.

But the past two Summer Slaughter tours have hit Ft. Lauderdale, so you still have a chance!

Yeah, I really hope Exhumed is on it and they decide to keep the same touring schedule as before

This. When they hit Gainesville of all fucking places, you know they try and cover all bases location-wise.

Very cool they're hitting some lesser played markets. I'm still bummed that there's only 1 show within "normal" distance, and I fucking hate Higher Ground in Burlington. Most likely that means there will be at least 2 SS dates within driving distance of my town, but I'd much rather see Cannibal Corpse on this tour, where they'll get a normal headline length show. At SS, aren't the headliners usually about 60 minutes only?

Still though, very solid lineup.

I think BDM played close to 90 minutes or so.

Higher Ground is a pretty shitty venue, but if a metal show went there that I was interested in seeing, fuck yeah I'm gonna go. I mean it's not the ideal venue by any means but the sound is fine so I see no reason not to go.

anyway, stoked about this. Granted I didn't jump out of my seat and start screaming like I did for Sepultura and Every Time I Die but I've always wanted to see Cannibal Corpse even if I'm not into death metal that much anymore.

Yep, hence the "I fucking hate Higher Ground." Still might make the trip. We shall see.
