Yeah, The Dark Eternal Night pretty much sucks balls. Easily one of the worst songs they've ever done.

This is a sufficient enough answer for your question

I dont see it as one of their worst songs. There are a few songs from Falling Into Infinity and Octavarium I don't care for but that's about it. Those are the only songs I would call their worst.

It's not the most interesting song (Too much modern chugging and verses are bland) but the chorus is good. I'm assuming Petrucci perfrormed Portnoy's vocals.

I think if you dig the most agressive part of DT, I understand that you dig this song....but I guess it's too much forced, with Portnoy wanting to steal the show trying to sing more and more with each album, so all this songs trying to be, bad ass guys, it doesn't fit for DT in my opinion.

That's why there're a few songs from the last albums that I enjoyed from the first note to the last one.

And if you wanted to choose a SC song..choose In The Presence of Enemies or The Ministry of Lost Souls

This song isn't bad, but due to their huge catalog I think it's a bad choice.

Dark Eternal Night is awesome! I mean, I can totally understand why a lot of DT fans would hate it (especially from listening to nothing but IaW and SFaM from them lately), but THOSE RIFFS!
