With all these shows popping up the positives of quitting are way too much for me to start up again! That being said I hope I succeed too. But thanks man! I'm sure to see you at at least one of these April shows coming up.

I USED to be the crazy dude at shows. But its not worth gettin yelled at by security the very second you walk in the door anymore lol. I still get hammered at shows. Unless there is another Nick.

Ya ill be at plenty of shows in April AND May.

O ya Meshuggah said their doin 2 HEADLINE TOURS. One in the spring and one in the fall.

SO im guessin one will hit the b markets like usual and the other hittin the larger ones. Which areas get to see them first is now the question.

Ill go Chicago or Milwaukee for this!

I'm with you to a certain extent. I have no interest in seeing this tour, but I do like the multi-genre tour trend that is (hopefully) rising in metal. I'm not very fond of seeing four brutal technical death metal bands or four blastbeat-worshipping black metal bands in a row at all. Much better when there's some variety on a tour.

Holy sweet slutty mother of fucking fuck. Two of my favorite bands of all time, plus a chance to finally see Decapitated. Yeah, I'll take it. Sure, Meshuggah and Baroness are a weird matchup, but who the fuck cares? On the one hand, it probably means a shortened Baroness set. That blows. On the other hand, if I can make this, it's a big win, plus two slightly smaller wins, so fuck yes. Bring on those dates, and this had better not skip my area.

Oh, and fuck the Meshuggah haters as well as that one crazy fucker who doesn't seem to like Baroness. You are all fucked in the head. That is all.

...and here I thought you had some pretty good taste in super-heavy music. :nonono:

...so on topic, when the fuck is this thing suppoed to happen? Anybody know? It looks like Decapitated will be touring Europe in February / March, and then Meshuggah will be touring there as well (primarily in the UK) with AAL for a few weeks in April, so I would guess it would be sometime after all that.

EDIT: Nevermind...I just found out it's in May. Then they're supposed to be back in October / November as well. :fist:

Oh hell yes. Good date. And I finally get to see Meshuggah.Dammit. I was looking forward to being in the pit on the day you first saw Meshuggah, but between the Chicago and Detroit dates, the latter is way more likely for me. Fuck. I was looking forward to having an excuse to kick your ass in the name of metal. :D

EDIT: Behemoth/Watain on 4/13 would be another opportunity, but again, the 4/12 date looks more likely for me.

...why aren't we flipping out at the fact that Baroness is direct support?! That's fucking great!I was pretty happy about it a few pages back.

However, I can also see the point of the folks who said they'd rather see them as a headliner. That, and it's gonna feel really strange getting all amped up for a song like "Grad" as the closer to a Baroness set and then hearing the opening notes from a fucked up song like "Stengah" about thirty minutes later when Meshuggah starts playing. That's just fuckin' weird.

But I'll take it. Some Baroness is better than no Baroness (plus, they'll be back as a headliner after their album drops, I'm sure). :D

Yeah, I can see that. I mean, I haven't seen Baroness yet and will take what I can get. Can't fucking wait for the eventual awesome new album/tour for new album. I don't think there will be too much moshing for them either, right? I don't want to waste my energy for Meshuggah.

Actually, now that I think of it, it's a distinct possibility that some of the Meshuggah fans may end up liking Baroness and moshing to it, but doubtless the real pits will begin when the Swedish masters of brutally heavy mathfuck take the stage. :rocker:

uh... no?Yeah, I'm not so sure about Meshuggah over Slayer in terms of crowd intensity. I've seen Slayer two or three times, but that was a decade or two ago. I've seen Meshuggah twice in the last several years, but one of those was as an opener for Ministry. The point is, it's tough to compare due to the difference in time frames, types of fans, size of venues, rules about moshing, etc.

I'll be going regardless - it's just a matter of getting the details sorted.

I guess there won't be anybody from the forum to shoot the shit with, though, by the looks of things.

Oh well, I'll have a buddy of mine with me for the gig, and maybe my brother, too - so it's all good. Looks like they're playing quite an interesting set these days. I'm scratching my head on them NOT playing "Swarm" or "Demon" from the new album, but aside from that, it promises to be a killer evening.

Apparently Baroness will be playing new shit, too.

Meshuggah has probably picked up a lot more mathy/technical fans over the past 10 years, the pits aren't really that intense.
