View Full Version : Decibel Magazine Tour?

As shown here: http://www.decibelmagazine.com/tours/

Apparently it's coming in april. I know the source is old but there is this (http://www.metal-archives.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=87228) recent thread on metal-archives that talks about it. Also the guy from Dark Descent Records said it was impressive and it seems like it's going to be announced in about two weeks. :D

Any more info on this? Could this be the Behemoth tour? Let the speculation begin I guess.

Yeah I don't really see how we could be disappointed with this tour right now.

If it's the Behemoth tour: Awesome

If it's not the Behemoth tour: Even more awesome because that Behemoth tour is going to happen sometime anyway

Yeah, they totally kicked ass at Hellfest last year. They were also good at MDF but not at the same level and they didn't have any cool stage stuff.

This could easily be the best tour of the year!

Who cares? They kick just as much ass :fist:I wouldn't know. What little of their stuff I've heard sounds a hell of a lot different from either of the two marquee bands rumored for this tour, and I don't remember being that impressed by it, either. I just remember it being generic-sounding, female-fronted stoner rock with a heavy emphasis on Satanic imagery. Big whoop.

Feel free to post some examples to the contrary if you'd like.

Yeah, I'm gonna be honest here. The Devil's Blood sounds like a modern day Scorpion worship outfit to me - only they apparently sing about Satanic themes, which totally makes no sense to me. Musically, they're fine - but stylistically speaking, they're just not my thing.

Decibel Magazine Tour Lineup Announced

Behemoth, Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude take part in
premier heavy metal magazine's inaugural tour starting in April

Blackened clouds are gathering overhead, and it's all our fault. North America's premier heavy metal magazine is launching the maiden edition of its annual earth-scorching tour this April. The inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour will feature not just the long-awaited stateside return of Polish blackened death metal overlords Behemoth, but support from Swedish black metal provocateurs Watain, Dutch prog mystics the Devil's Blood and Swedish old-school occultists In Solitude.

Beginning in April and laying waste through a gargantuan 26-date run, the Decibel Magazine Tour (presented by Metal Blade Records, IndieMerchStore.com, FYE, ESP Guitars and Good Fight Entertainment) not only offers four diverse European artists hand-picked by the magazine, but doubles as Behemoth's first U.S. tour since vocalist/guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski's well-documented battle with - and triumph over - leukemia.

Gruesome visual evidence of this tour package is forthcoming: We went all the way to Sweden to capture the frontmen and women of all four bands for our special Decibel Magazine Tour cover story, streeting in April. "Considering the fact that we'll be sharing the stage with the most evil and uncompromising bands around - Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude - this already makes it a legendary bill that you can't miss out on!" promises Nergal. "Watch out. We won't show up - we will ARRIVE with all the strength and might!"

"Part of Decibel's mission is to push the boundaries of what a metal publication is capable of doing," adds Decibel editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian, the tour's principal curator. "By bringing bands like Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude to larger stages in the U.S., we create an additional vehicle to help raise their profiles. It's another way to infect the mainstream with the power of the underground."

It only makes sense that Decibel would present a tour package with a sense of integrity, purpose and history. "It is a joint force of artistic adversity and sinister creativity," assures Watain frontman Erik Danielsson, "which makes me think of the glorious days when bands like Venom, Metallica, Exodus and Slayer toured together like a great middle finger raised towards their sheep-minded contemporaries."

Excited yet? Well, here's an early opportunity to score a great deal AND avoid standing in line. Fifteen premium packages are available in each market that include your ticket to the show, a tour T-shirt, a tour poster and a super-exclusive "Skip the Line" pass to move you to the front when doors open. The price of this package is less than you would spend on a ticket and a tour shirt at the show! More details, including tour dates, venues and ticket info, will be announced at www.decibelmagazinetour.com on January 24th. Every ticket purchased through Topspin will come with a commemorative laminate, and all fans that purchase their ticket through Topspin will be entered to win an ESP Guitar.

Wow, I really wish I would've read about those premium tickets before I bought mine. God damnit.

Oh well, the shirt is not a Behemoth shirt but I could've gotten it for only 5 dollars more. The Skip the Line thing isn't that big of a deal to me because I wouldn't want to stay in the same spot the whole time just to get the rail, and I probably won't show up before the doors open. Just checked. For the Montreal show, you can get that package for $40, but if you buy just the ticket, it's $41.25. Seriously, what the fuck? Buying the package (which I had no interest in, as I wear XXL shirts), is the no brainer here.

Yeah I wear XXL too so I guess the package wouldn't really be worth it. I still could've gotten a regular ticket for cheaper though (30.25 compared to the 35 I spent on livenation).

For Chicago the difference between the package and just a ticket is like $6.00.

:bouville::(:badidea::boohoo:

As much as I love Behemoth i'm gonna have to go with DRI/Overkill. DRI doesn't make much of a difference in this case since i'm gonna see them with Cro-Mags but Overkill is sure to be a better show.

Overkill plays a NYC show every few months, as well as all the other bands on that lineup.

I don't really care for Behemoth that much honestly but they will probably be incredible on this tour, and even if they suck, In Solitude, The Devil's Blood, Watain, and Evoken are on it. Every single one of these bands has the potential to put on a great live show.

Oh boy, found this posted on Behemoth and Nergal's Facebook pages.

Behemoth show cancelled in Ohio due to conflicting religious beliefs with the venue owners!

Commented Nergal :
“Wow, big motherfuckin’ WOW! We are facing a legendary moment: Amerika, the land of the free, is banning Behemoth coz of religious beliefs. The madness starts in Ohio, but of korz we r playing anyway. Nothing can stop us now. God, please save me from this freedom…”

Agoura Hills, CA - April 3rd, 2012 - The highly anticipated inaugural Decibel Magazine tour kicks off in a mere eight days in Columbus, OH. It wasn't too late, however, for the venue owners to prohibit the bands from appearing at The Brewmaster's Gate. Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude are being forbidden from playing at the venue because of religious conflicts with the venue owners. These bands are no strangers to this type of treatment, and a new venue has already been confirmed. The Columbus, OH show will now be at Al Rosa.

From Behemoth's fb

Our brothers in Watain ran into some issues with Visas and will be missing the first few shows on the Decibel tour, they will start the tour on April 16 at the Granada Theater in Lawrence, KS.... BEHEMOTH, The Devils Blood and In Solitude are still playing as scheduled so bring the fucking metal!

Hm, now I'm not that disappointed I'm missing this show. Sucks though, I know a LOT of people going to the show this Friday are going mostly for Watain.

So now do I burn a valuable hall pass to drive all the way to Shittsburg to see Behemoth only, possibly by myself (if my brother isn't able to join me)? Nobody from this forum who lives in Shittsburgh seems to be going to this, either, so there basically won't be any chance of meeting anybody I know (or know of) at the show.

Fuck.

It is Behemoth, though. :eyes:

Fuck. :bouville:

Yeah I have the night of and thought about going just for Behemoth and Watain but now I don't mind missing the show and the shitty bottomlounge. Plus odds are Behemoth will tour again this year.

Now I'll just save my money up for Steel Panther.

Well this sucks, now that I screamed a few nice words I am back down to earth. One good thing is Behemoth might play a few extra songs at least. The funny thing is, the first time it was Watain without Behemoth, now it's Behemoth without Watain.

I'm still going to try to go, just for the interview with Nergal, if it still happens.

RAZOR, my booking partner, and I are going!...and ZING!

The Nat is happy again. :D

Seriously, though, I've been asking about it on here, and neither of you had it in your sigs, so I assumed you weren't.

That's great news. I'll most likely be heading to The Rivers afterward if'n you're interested. :allan:

EDIT: Still sucks about Watain, though. I was really looking forward to seeing them again.
