Traditionalist metal gods 3 Inches of Blood will release their highly anticipated 5th studio album, Long Live Heavy Metal, on March 27th via Century Media Records. Keeping true to their core and bringing their forthcoming album title to life, fans can expect a blast of pure metal assured to leave no face un-melted. "Long Live Heavy Metal is the fifth chapter in the book of 3 Inches of Blood, and we couldn't be more pleased and proud of our new onslaught of Honest Heavy Metal," says guitarist Justin Hagberg. For Long Live Heavy Metal, 3 Inches of Blood reunited with producer and engineer Terry "Sho" Murray (City of Fire, Exhibitionists), who worked with the band on their 7", Anthems for the Victorious.

"When a band is releasing a new record, they often speak about it being their most important work or best album to date. Regardless of how clichéd either statement may sound, I think we would say both apply to this album," explains vocalist Cam Pipes. "All of us have a special feeling about this one. We're more committed than ever to the cause of real, honest, no bullshit heavy metal. No trends, no fucking around!"

That's a shitty album title, but I'm sure the record won't be shitty.

Pumped! I think I was one of the few to actually like the last album so this is gonna make my first 3 months rock

While I miss Jamie's screams, the guitarist still brings them pretty well live. Jamie just fucked up his voice, obviously. They had a pretty big following even when he was in the band. Do you think his screams sounded "healthy"?

I still was having a blast when they played Forest King live last time they were here, as well as Premonition of Pain.

I'm pretty excited for this record (even with the really corny title. It's even corny for 3 Inches Of Blood). Hopefully it's better than Here Waits Thy Doom.

with such a corny title, I hope all the songs aren't like 'Rock in Hell'

If Jamie isn't screaming, I don't want to listen.A bit off topic, maybe, but this is precisely why Opeth has never really done anything for me (or 3IOB).

The "meh" factors of this album will be off the charts!

The harsh vocals on this new song are wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy better than they were on the last album. I'm digging it.

Why does everyone on this board like 3IOB's harsh vocals? There isn't a need for them.

While they would still be a pretty good band without them, the harsh vocals were a big part of 3IoB's sound on the first 2 albums. When you take them away it's just not the same and it feels like something is missing.

Aren't there already enough bands that DON'T mix various styles of vocals?

As cheesy as this album is with the title and track titles, this song was really good. Better than anything from Here Waits Thy Doom.

I see all of the black metal shows that Justin has been attending in Vancouver have provided some great vocal inspiration for him. Saw him at Enslaved/Alcest, Mayhem, Wolves in the Throne Room, etc.

This new material is beaaastly.

:rocker: Though, I can't see why people didn't like Here Waits Thy Doom... it was less metal, but it was fucking awesome imo.
