Hasn't the guy from Atari Teenage Riot been dead for like a decade?

With the exception of Childish Gambino, Radiohead, and Kasabian, the lineup isn't doing much for me.

Could they have a less exciting first day? Jeeze.

edit: >Refused

disregard that

yeah but they reunited in 2010 with a new member and released an album last year.

I think this is looking less fake now that ATD-I just confirmed their reunion, but having Refused on there still makes it look very fishy.

I don't get how this is even going to work. They're making bands stay a full week to play for 2 weekends?

Some of my friends are planning a trip but this doesn't really interest me too much.

Why is Godspeed playing this?

Fuck yeah Godspeed may tour again!!!

Actually they booked shows in CA that whole week.

I suspect other bands will do the same.

i would think since all these bands have to stick around the southwest for a whole week to do both weekends, a lot of them might join up for tours.

That's not my point of them being on here, as I would expect them to book shows that whole week there. My point is that Godspeed is in no ways a festival band, so this is really curious to me.

Yeah, it could turn into a tour. But right now, at 5 dates at one venue and one date a few hours south, it isn't.

The only bands that interest me are Refused and At The Drive in. Not a fan of either of them, just it'd be something to see both of them.

I have a bunch of friends going to this though. It's only about an hour or so away from LA in the middle of nowhere. I've passed by the area before a few times on the way to a lake I go to in the summer/spring breaks.

Hasn't the guy from Atari Teenage Riot been dead for like a decade?

yeah but they reunited in 2010 with a new member and released an album last year.MC Carl Crack is the guy who died, but he was not a constant member. The only member to perform on all albums and at all live shows throughout the band's career is Alec Empire, who is the primary writer for the project and who has continued to have a successful solo career during the last decade when ATR was on hiatus. Thus, the phrase "the guy from Atari Teenage Riot" should really refer to Empire, and in that respect, nothing has changed.

That said, the new album was a bit disappointing. The political undertones that were so strong before are fairly pale in comparison now, and the screaming / shrieking vocals of Hanin Elias are no longer present, because she can't do that with her voice anymore. So for reasons other than MC Carl Crack's death, I fear ATR may never be what they once were.

I still wouldn't mind seeing them, though, since I never got a chance to back in the day.

^^ Those last couple of posts were kinda lulzy.

On the subject at hand, there are a hell of a lot of bands on this that I'd really like to see one day. If this were within a few hours' drive for me, it'd be a no-brainer for me to try and at least go to this for a day or two (or three).

What's funnier is that all these could easily pass for actual post-rock band names.

It did, and they added another show the day before which goes on sale on Wednesday at noon.

Dunno if I should go. Sunday's and Monday's both suck for concerts for me and Terminal 5 is probably the last place I would ever want to see a punk band at.
