My guess is that is likely to be two Big 4 concerts where Metallica plays the album Metallica in its entirety.

If that's the case it wouldn't be NY

Fingers crossed for Philly

Something for the 3D film?

I'm pretty sure it isn't big four shows.

I think it's just the 30th anniversary gigs like the ones they had over in the bay. :hmm:

But Lars Ulrich also stated many time they were looking to do more Big 4 shows on the east coat and in the midwest.

My guess is that DC and Florida get the shows.

If I remember right, Pittsburgh was one of the locations they were considering for the first US Big 4 plus Metallica hasn't played a show here for over five years. After all, we did get an Ozzfest date back in 2010 so Pittsburgh does tend to get a date on small tours.

the exact quote is "were gonna take this thing" implying the 30th anniversary shows "into to a big ass fucking place" place being singular

would make sense that this is what the 3D movie is going to be. black album in its entirety is a good guess too. as cool as it would be to have a concert film of the deep cuts/covers heavy set lists like the SF shows, that would be just appealing to the hardcore fans, whereas playing one of the best selling albums of all time in a huge arena is more in line with the scale of a big budget 3D theatrical film.

This isn't "news".
