With Black Sabbath reuniting, Slipknot touring and an upcoming big announcement from Metallica, metal heads can only fantasize about these three massive acts sharing the stage. A new report from Artisan News suggests these bands may get together for a huge massive festival tour in the summer.

With the Big 4 shows and 30th anniversary gigs behind them, Metallica are set to deliver a big announcement in January of next year.

Even though Black Sabbath have released dates for their European trek, there havenít been any North American shows announced yet. Can fans look forward to the return of Ozzfest? Who knows?

Slipknot frontman has said in numerous interviews and on stage during his solo tour where he performs acoustically and reads from his new book that Slipknot will be on tour next year and doing a late summer run in the United States on a major festival. Ozzfest? Mayhem? Just tell us already!

None of this is confirmed, but Artisan News has put together a series of video clips (see below) that hint at the possibility of this massive festival tour. So, if you thought 2011 was huge for hard rock and heavy metal, hold on tight because 2012 seems like itís going to be a crazy one for metal heads.

Agree. Sabbath and Metallica in the same show would be incredible!

I like that the fact that they haven't announced any dates means it's a safe assumption that they're all on one festival. They're probably all on Summer Slaughter.

I would be excited to hear about the Mayhem board kids pleading their case how Slipknot should headline over Sabbath & Metallica.

Slipknot? Over Sabbath and Metallica?

Silly Mayhem board members, Slipknot's for kids!

But would Metallica allow themselves not to headline since BS would headline.

Personally, I prefer the Black Sabbath/Judas Priest/Motorhead rumor then this but thats just me. Still kicks ass though.

Yes, I prefer that rumor too. But I doubt any of these tours would happen.

How about that iron maiden/dio/motorhead tour from a few years back? Good stuff!

Yeah, the Metal Masters tour. Really wanted to see that but didn't. Later saw Metalllica that year (First concert ever) and all was forgiven. But since Priest already did the North American leg of their Epitaph tour it would look silly if they did a tour so soon after, especially since it's supposed to be their last major tour.

Maiden and Dio: Perfect combination. But sadly it can never happen again. R.I.P. Dio. The "Give me ed till I'm dead" tour. Before I was fan of Maiden and Heavy metal.

I was just getting into Maiden and decided to go to this, it was great(though I wasnt a Dio fan at that point, I was when I saw H&H on Metal Masters)

That would be fucking hilarious; Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slipknot and...Oceano?

And it's still booked at the Opera House in Toronto.

I was surprised about that. MegaDave obviously didn't know that Nergal likes to desecrate bibles.

Here's one. Not sure if it's already been discussed here, but Kittie is touring in the Spring. Guess who their main support is? Yup, Blackguard. Not that I like Kittie, and I doubt many people do, but shit, it seems like one of those 2 bands is one every fucking NA tour.

I know most of you don't take this "theory" seriously, and you shouldn't.

As far as Metallica's "Big Announcement", all it is is a continuation of their 30th Anniversary, to be played somewhere on the East Coast, at a larger venue, according to Lars, via Night 4 in SF.

I doubt it's a Big 4 show. At least what Lars was talking about.

On a related note, I hope that Big 4 shit is over. I don't feel like paying 200 just for the fact that they're playing together.

I hope they'll leave Slayer at home.
