My pick would be Batman: Arkham City  and for portable game Super Mario 3D Land easily.

Definitely Arkham City.

Arkham City or Portal 2

Arkham City or Portal 2

That would be my runner up for sure. The second half is EPIC, and GLaDOS's final song.

I actually haven't played the last level/seen the ending yet  I was playing it on my laptop until it bit the bullet and my current one can't support it! Bummer, but what I've played until that point is amazing, perfect sequel! Getting it on the xbox for Christmas!

No game came close to being 1/8th as good as Skyrim.

Gears Of War 3, Saints Row The Third is the only other game that I played that even came close.

I haven't gotten Skyrim yet, so since it only came out for PS3 this year I'll vote for Mass Effect 2. It was really the only new game I played other that Lego Star Wars III, which was fun but not a Game of the Year type game.

Oh yeah, I played Dragon Age II as well but I still liked Mass Effect 2 better.

There were a ton of great games this year, and although Portal 2 was great and I'm sure Arkham City is fantastic, nothing comes close to Skyrim for me. Yeah, it's far from perfect, but it's Bethesda's best game yet, and I haven't felt a personal connection to a game like this in years.
