You guys know how much I love posting show reviews
This show was in a sweaty cramped basement type-place, despite the fact it wasn't actually a basement. No stage at all.
First band I didn't catch the name of, but they played some solid metallic hardcore, complete with thrashy riffs and all that. There were some hardcore dancers, which shouldn't have bothered me because this was a hardcore show, but they kept knocking people with their flailing arms and just showed blatant disregard for the people round them. Fuckin' teenage pricks.
I was finishing my bud light lime (bite me  it was a can so it worked for me), got a solid buzz going, and got in while Full of Hell was playing. Sound wasn't great (maybe it was the alcohol ) but they were fun. I was screaming in the vocalist's face the entire time.
Full of Hell play a sorta noisy blend of what I like to call Southern Lord-core. Good shit.
Heartless came on soon and were even better than Full of Hell, at least sound-wise. They play what I would say is a cross between your Converge-y metallic hardcore and then your Southern Lord-core like Nails and All Pigs Must Die. Vocalist didn't really scream in anybody's faces so I just screamed in the air pretty much. Like the band before, I was VERY into the performance, yet I was basically the only guy that was. Everyone else was just standing and sorta nodding. I do believe the crowd was there to see them, I guess they just don't know how to have fun :tp:
I got a sick poster from them for 3 bucks, gonna go in my dorm room up in Vermont
But the show wasn't done. This local grindy hardcore band called Weather Underground finished up the show. There was more moshing for them than the other bands but still a weak fucking crowd for the most part. The vocalist kept talking in between songs about human rights violations and shit, including yesterday's murders in Egypt. I appreciate he was so into it, but yeah, they were awesome and I wished they played longer. Oh well.
