This is and will be one of (if not THE) most unique and unexpected setlists Devin Townsend has performed. The venue was too small for the band's equipment, so instead of packing up and cancelling he decided to do a special Acoustic ONLY set this night, comprised of both requests and songs Devin himself picked for the night.

My requested song was Love? and he performed it. Videos can be found at www.youtube.com/user/villithorne

*Note - Devin Townsend himself said he hasn't played Notes from Africa live since 2006.

Setlist:
(Entirely Acoustic)
1.Life
2.Coast
3.Terminal
4.Solar Winds
5.Sister
6.Juular
7.Love? (Strapping Young Lad) :rocker:
8.Deadhead
9.Sunday Afternoon
10.Vampira :rocker:
11.Disruptr
12.Notes from Africa
13.Funeral (Ocean Machine)
14.In-Ah!
15.Earth Day
16.Hyperdrive!
17.Bad Devil :rocker:
18.Ghost
19.Quiet Riot

Awesome setlist....BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT Notes From Africa was a song on Synchestra, an album that was released in 2006. Are you sure he didn't mean played since 2006?

Actually I thought it was a typo, in the video he does say 2002. Weird, good catch.

That was acutally a typo lol I'm sorry, good catch!

Not a problem man. I'm jealous you got to see Dev acoustically. Although I did see the DTP 3 times this year, so I can't complain at all.

How the fuck is a venue too small for equipment?

Basically the stage can barely fit 3 people across comfortably, and in the back there is a small higher platform for the drums. This venue is usually used for small local bands, why the fuck they booked DTP at this venue I don't know, we had other venues better suited for him. Anyway, their monster drums wouldn't fit on the designated stage area for them, and the tons of other equipment he uses would've made the stage way too small and cramped.

You don't go to enough places. It's a bigger issue then one would think.

This would have been amazing, I am jealous! Sucks about the equipment, but it does happen, quite a lot too, all comes down to the venues available on the night, promoters involved and fees required for which venue gets used, Devin got the short straw tonight, but from what I've heard he has seen much worse things go wrong.

Doing songs from Ghost for an acoustic show is pretty cool. I can't imagine Juular acoustic.

WTF @ all those tags

Tags should be the bands whose setlist is included in the thread only. This thread should have one tag in it. "Devin Townsend Project".

There are some awesome songs in this set but I'd be really upset if I went to the show. I'm not a big fan of the acoustic thing, so unless I paid for an acoustic set I wouldn't want to see one.

Was it at the same place in Kingston that Napalm Death played in October?

I'm new here in case you can't tell by my only 4 posts. Though it isn't the end of the world or detrimental in anyway, sorry for the "inconvenience".

Setlist is updated, Canada was instead Deadhead. Sorry for the mispost, I thought he played Canada but he did not.

There was also another person asking if this was at the same place as Napalm Death, I didn't go to that show and I don't remember the venue they were booked for but this show was at The Mansion.

I'd say that's false advertisement. Any Mansion has enough room for a full band.

Still sounds like a great show considering the setlist.
