I'm going to be going to the Chicago one! Really enjoyed them last time I saw them.

I may or may not be interviewing Anvil when they come to St. Paul. I have to hear back.

Depending on if school is raping my asshole that night, I'll hopefully go to the LA date.

I know they did a Canadian tour last year, but you'd think they'd either start or end with Toronto. I've seen them enough lately, but I really want to see them headline.

wtf? that venue sucks major ass. Security is dickish and the sound sucks, tickets are usually overpriced. Fuck that. Anvil isn't worth going there again.

That's a really small venue. I might go.

Ugh. Not even worth it. Anvil are total shit live (and in the studio, for the record).

This.

The Anvil movie deserved to be about a better band. Should've been Saxon, Riot, or King's X.

Exactly. There's a reason why Anvil never became huge, after all...

They had their 15 minutes with the movie, now back to obscurity where they belong.

If you don't like Anvil, you don't like real heavy metal.

Listen to their song "Free as the wind." It will make anyone proud to be a metalhead.

Anyone who opposes Anvil will get their thumbs hanged.

And there's already been a Saxon documentary.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I honestly don't get all the hate for Anvil. I thought the movie was really good but it seems like what a lot of you got out of it was:
"why don't people care about us anymore? aren't we entitled to be rich and famous cause we're in a band :bawling:"
I saw the movie as an inspirational story about two guys who would never give up no matter how shitty things got. I enjoy some of Anvil's music and it seems to me like people only hate on them cause of the movie.

^ Forget about the movie for 1 second and tell me, is this really that shitty?

Well then I guess I don't like metal. Thank you for making me realize the last 23 years i've spent listening to metal was for nothing since I don't like Anvil. That documentary may as well been made for maiden33's band. They probably got a bigger following than Anvil at this point.

:rocker:

That is definitely one of Anvil's best! The main riff of that song reminds me of Iron Maiden and the song has non-stop soloing :D

They actually do have some great songs, they're just all on different albums

Seems interesting, although that list above is slightly incorrect: There is no venue called The Roosevelt 2.0 in Tampa. Don't know where the hell they got that from, but on that night it's actually coming to the State Theatre in St. Petersburg (which is about half an hour from Tampa).

You guys are making it seem like Anvil is a joke band. They're not like Steel Panther. They have that classic heavy metal sound, just like Saxon, Accept etc.

Except for the fact that Anvil and Steel Panther are nothing alot. Plus Steel Panther isn't really a joke band. They parody the 80's but everything they do is original plus they can all play.

But back on topic. I do really like Anvil and seeing them in a small club was amazing and they looked to be happy to be playing and having a good time I just don't think they would have translated well to being a huge name band. The music doesn't hold up. Their a perfect club band.

Why the fuck does this band headline so many tours? I swear they've been to Reggie's 4 times in the past 2 years. :tp:

Better yet, why are they still on MDF? If they don't drop I predict that the party brigade is going to have some fun for their set!

I can see the Sellersville theater from the bedroom of my apartment, and I still won't go because Anvil is terrible and tickets are more then $5.

True, they are the designated drinky time band of the fest but if we can get a massive amount of inflatable dick balloons, there would be no better set to use them for than Anvil. Well I guess Morbid Angel but their live sets usually kick ass.

I don't know what songs I've heard by this band, but I didn't like any of them. However, I just checked out Free As The Wind and that one is pretty sweet.

They gotta git it while the gittin's good, or before everybody forgets they had a movie.
