Holy Shit! First time I saw A7X and it was amazing!!! There was a kid named Jeremy who had this sign that said he wanted to sing Second heartbeat with the band and M. Shadows was like well we'll let the crowd decide, and needless to say that the kid got his dream fulfilled.

BVB tore the place a new one, Asking Alexander was fuckin terrible and Hollywood Undead was really good live. I normally dont like there stuff but it was decent.

I only know 2 of the 4 sets though :(

Minus the Nightmare songs, I saw all those songs on their tour with Atreyu and Bullet For My Valentine.

Looks like I missed absolutely nothing. 3 shitty opening bands (Sorry guy) and a substandard A7X song without Save Me.

You must not listen to 93X, and that makes you a good person. :D

Hahahaha hell no. Radio now days is part of the problem why kids these days don't listen to good music. If I have to choose a radio station to listen to, which really never happens I listen to 88.something, the Jazz station.

So, for Uproar, all the a7x fans were defending their short set by saying it was due to the fact it was a festival tour.... Now, they have their own headlining tour, and are still only doing twelve songs.... What's the defense now?

KFAI is badass as well 90.3 or 106.7 The Root Of All Evil. Its on right now, doing 5 hours of Metal covers. I'll be on there Christmas night doing a 4 minute set of metal.

Nice. I wish I could work at a radio station...

I feel very fortunate for the opportunity. Never in my life did I think it could happen. Since July I've been so busy working on my own show, and now possibly doing a set of metal on The Root Of All Evil on a somewhat regular basis. It's a dream come true. Wish It brought more income out of it, but it's for the love of music.

That and getting back to gigging next year will be sweet.

You'd like KFAI, last year they did 24 hours of Frank Zappa, not repeating one song ever!

Very doable, I have over 72 hrs of Zappa, excluding my live bootlegs and soundboards.

Any chance they're looking for a guy to do Jam related shows? Jazz? Bluegrass? Combination?

KFAI is a community Radio station, I know they have shows like that all the time. They do everything from Political talk to Satanic Death Metal to World music all throughout the week. It wouldn't hurt looking into it.

Sweet. How do you go about getting a show?? Is it difficult?

*Shhhhhhhhh it's a trade secret*

hahah actually I'm not even really sure how I got it. It all feels like pure luck to me.

Long story made as short as I can.

On my facebook for years I've been posting reviews and talking music, just like I have here, except even before I joined. Back in July, the owner of the radio station I now worked at offered me a weekly show playing 10 songs, roughly an hour (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter) of my choosing that I consider the best in Rock and Metal.

Before that time, I've been promoting the Root Of All Evil which is going into it's 26th year next year on Facebook, and talking with people a part of the show.

During a couple Metal shows at Station 4 in the last couple months, the host of the show met up with me, we talked metal, the local music scene, etc. and then offered me an opportunity to do a show on The Root Of All Evil sometime Because they play everything metal....EVERYTHING. Like tonight and next week they are doing 2 full shows dedicated to Metal covers. Last week was all 60s-80s Metal on Vinyl. Its a killer show.

My show will be basically a tribute to what I do on my show, playing the diversity of the Metal I play on my show. If this becomes a regular gig (I really hope so) I'll be able to make more out of it.

Would love to host a show highlighting the best improvisations in live music for the current week.

I'll be on there Christmas night doing a 4 minute set of metal.

I've noticed that you get the terms "minute" and "hour" mixed up quite often. I think maybe you need a vacation

I thought it was just as a joke or something, hop one quick and play 'Fuck Me Jesus' or something like that. hahaha

God I'm happy this tour is skipping IL.

Love A7X but that set is too short for headlining and with nothing Uproar didn't have. BVB are horrible as is Hollywood Undead. AA are good live but still doesn't make a difference for this show.

IMO damn near every heavy band doesn't do a long enough headlining set. Maybe I'm just spoiled by what I usually go to now days. Longest set I've seen was a little over 4 hours.

If people dig what I do that night, it will become a regular/semi regular thing. Meaning about an hour and a half each time. This is a test run. It's a bitch making a 40 minute set because there's so much I wanna showcase on FM radio. I think I got it narrowed down to 8 songs that's at 40:31. It'll work. :)
