Augury doesn't seem to be on your list.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DPW9ED1WBs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrAHhZuSeSY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM94mzCQI-8

I would also highly recommend Mathieu Marcotte's (Augury Lead Guitar Player) side project 'Humanoid'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2JfHlwnUeU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSL4fDexRxM

The album 'Remembering Universe' is the the only one that has been released but he is working on the second one right now as well as the new Augury. I would recommend trying to find the album, (PM me if you can't) cause it's composed as a single flowing piece. Hence as to why the two songs I posted have similar themes.

None of these bear any resemblance to the kind of things he listens to, which was the point in him posting his listening habits.

If just naming bands that aren't on his list were all he needs, a link to MySpace would have done the job :finger:

Because it takes far too long to eliminate everything you already know about and just haven't managed to get scrobbled into Last.fm yet with that. I can understand him not using it.

TheGrandWazoo40

Yeah, of course, cause the reason couldn't have been so people don't recommended stuff he already listens to. That would just be silly.

Yeah, plus you can't always judge by one random song on last.fm if an artist is worth checking out further, whereas someone's personal opinion can be more helpful.

Lincoln, have you heard of My Own Grave? Their latest album Necrology reminds me a bit of Bloodbath's Nightmares Made Flesh album. Their older stuff is great too ;)

Nice try, but no.

If that's all he wanted, then Madonna would be a relevant suggestion. Which clearly it isn't.

Gojira

Tedeschi Trucks Band (These guys are also a NEED to see, trust me)

YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF BELA FLECK???????????

What about Victor Wooten? He's the Flecktones Bassist

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81IJtxMF3Fw

I'm in this video

The fact that you haven't heard of Derek Trucks surprises me too, he has an amazing solo group now it merged with Susan, his wife, he also plays guitar for the Allman Brothers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FlOJXL4j6k

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7czlanjaObs

Oh Susan... The things I would do....

Have you ever heard of Hotrize? Peter Wernik used to play with them.

Probably not Chris, if all goes as planned:

Minnesota Winter Bluegrass Weekend

Sweeet Water Shakedown

Summer Camp

Wakarusa

Minnesota Homegrown Kickoff (If Waka isn't in the cards)

Electric Forest (If the lineup doesn't fall off, you never know with insomniac being the promoter)

Allgood

Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival

Shangri La

And if Phish does a festival I will be at that one for sure. Although a little birdy told me that Allgood is trying to get them on the bill as well.

Pretty sure Pete wasn't in a plane crash, I could be wrong though.

Yeah, but you said the Tedeschi Trucks Band. I'd never heard of them. He joined the Allman Brothers in the late 1990's but I haven't listened to any of his solo or side project material.

Amebix: This is one of the first crust bands ever. They are like the Black Sabbath of crust. They were around for 9 years in the 80s and then reformed a few years ago. I saw them once and they were one of the best bands I have seen.

Largactyl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xXhBs1Ho18)

Chain Reaction (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1KGWYId8vc)

Behind Enemy Lines: If you HAVEN'T heard Aus-Rotten, then look them up cause you are a failure at life. BEL is the sequel to Aus-Rotten. BEL is a different style than AR. They are heavier and more crusty.

Behind Enemy Lines (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxSl84NOiVI)

Faceless (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfrF5nSiu8I)

Gutter Religion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWBVip29xg8)

Get it Off (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYZpVVgdCbE)

The Cage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvMF9V_49Ik)

Doom: They are one of the greatest fucking crust bands you will ever hear!!!

Police Bastard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfW7QZJDUbg)

Money Drug (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pkl8FYjduCs)

Dystopia: More of a sludge/crust band, but also something you need to listen to. Dino(the drummer) has the sickest vocals ever. He is also the drummer for Ghoul...

Stress Builds Character (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agjf_QK4I9o)

Jarhead Fertilizer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7LHAPqm-l0)

Skitsytem: This was one of my favorite crust bands for a while. Tom AND Adrian for At The Gates playing crust? Yes please!!!!

System Collapse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDp8TDWQ4E0)

Allt E Skit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHt8-IOqr0s)

Genocide Superstars: A fucking awesome crust band from Sweden. Nothing really to explain other than they kick ass. Hail the New Storm is the best...

Nails has definitely won a LOT of people over for that reason. It reminds the old school fucks of how violent music was back in the day and they draw in the new people for the heavy ass break downs. Primate is local to me, but I've never seen 'em! My brother saw them with Withered though and he said they were great. Plutocracy and PLF are sick. Never listened to DIS. Never heard of Stapled Shut.

Thanks dude

I don't have too much time right now to look more up, but Decrepit was really hard to find, here's there ep on youtube

Fuckin awesome, dude. I also really liked Destroy, Decrepit, and Flagitious Discrepancy. Stapled Shut is cool, just listened to their split with Despise You on youtube which was sick!

I couldn't find D.I.S., though. I think I saw that they had a Myspace but I refuse to use Myspace for listening to music.

Yeah, DFA is fucking awesome. I went to see Poison Idea last year and they were the openers. One of the best surprise bands I've seen. They're shit it is really hard to find. I bought their discography cd. Let me know if you want it and I'll message you a zip of it.

Holy fuck, this Nails record goes hella fast! 10 songs and it's under 15 minutes.Check out the two albums released so far by Gridlink. The first album has eleven songs in less than twelve minutes, and the second album (released THIS YEAR, as a matter of fact...wink wink nudge nudge say no more) has twelve songs in just over twelve minutes. Now that's fucking fast.
