If we're going by released in 2011:

Adrenaline Mob - The Mob Rules (Black Sabbath)

If we're including old stuff only heard this year - I became familiar with King's X's cover of Mr. Big's "Take Cover" from their "Influences and Connections" CD, and I LOVE it - one of the best covers I've ever heard.

AA -Aerials, definitely.

Not from 2011, but Ghost's Here Comes the Sun has been spinning a bunch.

I don't remember hearing any exceptionable covers this year. I guess my vote goes to Aerials.

Heh, after hearing it again, I guess I liked the first part of the song more which was the Anthrax original

I like the 2 Machine Head covers on the Deluxe Edition of Unto The Locust. The Sentinel is a decent updated version and I actually prefer their version of Rush's - Witch Hunt to the original which I always found kinda boring.

Periphery - One, recently really grew on me!

I didn't enjoy the Amon Amarth Aerials cover so much, good novelty, but its only ok in my books.

I haven't listened to it, and I don't intend to. Sounds like an April Fool's joke to me :hecho:

I'd imagine the band recorded it as a joke to an extent as well, just something fun to do in the studio, since people really seemed to enjoy the karaoke video.
