It's good to know that Purple can still play arenas. But from the videos I've seen of this tour Gillan has trouble singing.

He had no real problems at all except when trying to do some screams, which he clearly appreciates because he doesn't try it very often.

The fucking awful crowd and the boring setlist after Knocking At Your Back Door are bigger problems.

What was so bad about the crowd? Two keyboard solos, tad unnecessary..!

That was the only song the orchestra didn't play on.

They literally didn't move a muscle until Smoke On The Water. 8,000-odd people.

It was pathetic.

Yeah. You could argue they were just extended intros to Lazy and Perfect Strangers, but they were too long and distinct for that.

There was also a drum solo during Hush, and a jam with a lot of Steve Morse soloing.

I would have liked a lot more input from the orchestra, personally, and a better setlist, but nevertheless, this was probably the best Deep Purple show I've seen (sixth time seeing them). Great spectacle.

That's modern concert audiences for you.

I know people have different ways of showing appreciation for the music and different um physical considerations but seriously?

That's a damn shame.
