Just got back from Alter Bridge, and I'm rather stoned right now, so this review will be blunt and straight to the point :bliss:

Anyway, so I arrived at the venue with my dad (who I usually go to concerts with) at 6:30, and decide to have a couple of beers before we go in. As soon as we get inside the venue Theory of a Dreadman begin there set.

Now, I've seen a lot of un-positive reviews on here about Theory of a Deadman, by claiming their boring, shitty music etc. But to be honesty, they weren't that bad for an opening band, the guitarist/singer was actually pretty funny, and overall the sound was great and they certainly indeed warm up the crowd, even though I'm not a fan of them, they weren't half bad.

Theory of a Deadman setlist:

1.Gentlemen
2. So Happy
3. No Life
4. Bitch Came Back
5.Cocaine (Eric Clapton cover)
6. Hate My Life
7. Paradise City (Opening and riff)
8. Bad Girlfiend

Next up were Black Stone Cherry, and these guys completely kicked arse, these guys are seriously worth seeing whenever you get the chance, they're so energetic and are awesome with the crowd. A heavy set and a damn good performance!.

Black Stone Cherry set:

1. Change :rocker:
2. Blind Man :rocker:
3. Yeah Man
4. Soulcreek
5. In My Blood
6. Rain Wizard :rocker:
7. Things My Farther Said
8. White Trash Millionaire
9. Peace Is Free
10. Hoochie Coochie Man (Muddy Waters cover)
11. Maybe Someday
12. Blame It On The Boom-Boom
13. Sweet Home Alabama (Snippet)
14. Lonely Train :rocker:

And finally, Alter Bridge. These guys put on a fantastic performance, Myles' voice was perfect, the whole band was tight, the only thing I didn't really enjoy that much was the Aucostic section of the set (which was only 2 songs anyway) which was pretty boring, so thats why I used that as a smoke break :allan:.The songs 'Metalingus', 'Ties That Bind', 'Isolation', 'Find The Real', 'White Knuckles' were easily the best of the night.

1. Slip to the Void
2. Find the Real :rocker:
3. Ghost of Days Gone Bye
4. Before Tomorrow Comes
5. Come To Life
6. Brand New Start
7. White Knuckles
8. Metalingus :rocker:
9. Broken Wings
10. I Know It Hurts
11. One Day Remains
12. Blackbird
13. Wonderful Life (Acoustic, Myles only)
14. Watch Over You (Acoustic, Myles only)
15. Ties That Bind :rocker:
16. Isolation :rocker:

*Encore*

17. Open Your Eyes
18. Dueling Guitar Solo's (Myles and
19. Rise Today

Theory of a Deadman - 7.5
Black Stone Cherry - 9
Alter Bridge - 9

So overall, great night. :D

You went from Boro to Newcastle, and back, without dying?

Bravo.

I love Alter Bridge.

Me too. I'm just a little bit bored with seeing them. They come here at least twice per album, but don't change the set that much.

I'll catch them again on the tour cycle for the next album.

I notice Black Stone Cherry have already booked another UK tour in March with Rival Sons.

I wish BSC would headline a tour in the US again.
