If you are not from the Mayhem boards, you will be fine

Digging the new High On Fire. It definitely sounds like Sleep had a big effect on Pike. I can't complain at all. :D

That's gorgeous...can't wait to hear a studio version. I agree with MPF, it does sounds like a lot like Sleep. I wonder if the new album will be a bit slower, as opposed to the riffs on Snakes for the Divine.

That song is great. I feel high just from listening to that.

Nice first post.

Too slow and stoner-y for me.

...it's Matt Pike!

I like their more upbeat, riffy stuff.

It sounds like he is revisiting the first album's sound, with a little more doom influence, but i'm unsure if the entire album will sound this way. It's still probably the same HoF we all know and love. Plus Matt Pike is pregnant now.

I thought it was just me. I couldn't remember if he was always that big or not. Regardless, and I love Matt, but its time to invest in some shirts.

I was pretty sure an alien was going to pop out of his stomach like in Alien 2. hahaha

Exactly what I thought when I heard it. I hope there is more stuff like it on the new full-length. The Art of Self Defense is my favorite HoF album.

Awesome song, love the psychedelic, stoner-rock influence to it.

And there's another one new one as well, Serums of Liao - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf5wytIcnts

The new clip just helped me realize it...

Matt Pike is what Danzig would look like now if he never worked out.

Badass song either way.

 did anyone see the article Metalsucks came out with a while back called "Matt Pikes top 10 coolest shirts"?

The last sentence of that article is the best part: "Here’s to you, Mr. Pike. We wish our body image was as positive as yours.

-AR"

I don't smoke, and don't really plan on changing that, but Matt Pike would be awesome to hang out with.

So many doom bands doing exactly this, only better. Boring.
