Totally worth seeing. The Mpire of Evil EP is pretty damn good. The originals are great and they play some cool covers (although the recordings of a couple of them aren't really up to scratch).

Sweet, I can definitely see this being at Reggies in Chicago. And Evildead is only playing the west coast shows.

seeing Onslaught would be awesome on its own, but seeing Mpire Of Evil also makes it so much better. Probably the closest I'll get to seeing Venom for a long time and probably of equal, if not better quality, than the Venom show would be.

Interesting, I feel a little embarrassed right now and also feel like kicking myself in the face right now because I have never heard of Mpire of Evil,:eyes: :hecho: :(

I Love Onsalught, Evil dead and Venom, but I have never in my life heard of Mpire of Evil? I would assume from the way of your post that they do Venom Covers aswell(since the majority of the band is made up of the original members from when venom started?)? if so this show is a pretty much sealed-done-deal for me. no ifs, or buts.

EDIT: Oh wow, fuck me in the ass. I just read the first post on the first page. HOLY FUCKING-WIP-WAH-ZAMA SHABA LAY LAY. I'M IN, I'M IN!!!!

LAY DOWN YOUR SOULS TO THE GODS ROCK n' ROLL :punk:

They do Venom covers live from what I've heard. They also cover AC/DC, Judas Priest, Kiss, & Motorhead on their EP along with a few pretty good originals. I had never heard of them before I first heard about this tour, so don't feel bad haha.

Interesting. I would be going crazy if I heard them do covers of "Buried alive", "Black Metal", "In League with Satan", "Witching Hour" and Soooo much more. This is probably the closest I will get to seeing Venom. I was all up for the awesomeness of Evil dead and Onslaught but uhhhh i ain't gonna lie, man......I'm a little more excited to see MpireofEvil than all the other bands NOW that I know who they really are. :eyes: :hecho: :rocker:

Mpire of Evil is Venom cover band with only 1 original member They hijacked the name in 1989 I believe and did 1 album and tour with scabs.
Cronos = True Venom

Then you should pay more attention. I've been talking about them for about two months.

The whole band is ex (not necessarily original) Venom members. It's Tony Dolan, the guy who sang for three (very good) albums in the '90s when Cronos was out, on vocals and bass, Antton on drums (Cronos's brother) and Mantas on guitar.

EP is two originals and four classic rock/metal covers, of which only one is really good. The originals are excellent. Album due next year.

Wrong. They didn't take the name, Cronos left to form his solo band. Actually, Mantas had already left at that point as well, but came back once he knew Cronos was out. So yeah, they "toured with scabs", only two original members of Venom :tp: The Mpire of Evil singer/bassist did three albums with them between '89 and '92. All of which are good. The drummer, Antton, was in the band between 2000 and 2008, also recording three albums.

Annton is no longer with Mpires of Evil. He left due to personal reasons. They will have a replacement drummer for him for the upcoming tour. Also the Mpires of Evil album is suppose to come out March 26th. A couple days after I see them. Here's the track list

Oh and the Album is titled HELL TO THE UNHOLY.

MPIRE OF EVIL (formerly PRIMEVIL) — the band he formed in 2010 with fellow ex-VENOM members Jeff "Mantas" Dunn (guitar) and Tony "The Demolition Man" Dolan (bass, vocals) — will release its full-length debut, "Hell To The Holy", on March 26 via Scarlet Records. The CD boasts 10 brand-new tracks displaying the band's infectious and groovy heavy metal assault, conveying Mantas' thunderous riffs, a huge rhythm section and Dolan's abrasive vocals into a monstrous musical holocaust which will appeal to both old-school and modern metal fans.

Produced by Mantas himself and featuring stunning cover artwork by Gyula Havancsák (ANNIHILATOR, DESTRUCTION, GRAVE DIGGER), "Hell To The Holy" is without any doubts a "must have" album for 2012.

A North American tour with British thrash legends ONSLAUGHT has already been confirmed but many more dates will follow soon.

Despite having played on the album, drummer Antony "Antton" Lant (ex-VENOM) has since left the band for personal reasons but a replacement for the tour will be announced soon.

"Hell To The Holy" track listing:

01. Hellspawn
02. Metal Messiah
03. Waking Up Dead
04. Hell To The Holy
05. Snake Pit
06. All Hail
07. Devil
08. Shockwave
09. The 8th Gate
10. M-pire (Prelude)

MPIRE OF EVIL released its debut mini-album, "Creatures Of The Black", on October 21, 2011 via Scarlet Records. The CD features cover versions of four songs that influenced the members of M-PIRE OF EVIL ("Exciter" by JUDAS PRIEST, "God Of Thunder" by KISS, "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be" by AC/DC and "Motörhead" by MOTÖRHEAD), plus two new songs, "Hellspawn" and "Reptile", which are available for streaming on the group's Facebook page.

In a 2010 interview with Metality, Dolan stated about the formation of M-PIRE OF EVIL,"Well, I think it came about as Mantas and Antton who were both doing separate music projects (DRYLL and DEF-CON-ONE) came together in DRYLL. Mantas needed a drummer and Antton offered his services. People kept wondering what it would be like if Mantas and Antton played with me and it was kind of, 'Oh, yeah that would be fun perhaps,' but then DRYLL played a show and performed the VENOM track 'Black Metal' [with Antton] and that was kind of it. People started saying I had to come in and play, too. So I got a phone call and had a few chats with Mantas and that was that; we decided we'd see if it worked. It does, very well, but then again myself and Mantas have always been friends and played well together. The addition of a drummer as good as Antton was something too cool to pass up! [M-PIRE OF EVIL] is old school, I guess, melodic, heavy, powerful. [As to how MPIRE OF EVIL is] different from VENOM, [I'm] not sure. We will inevitably be compared, as we are all ex-VENOM [members] and, of course, Mantas was the main songwriter for VENOM, so... But I feel we are more like classic metal. MOTÖRHEAD, BLACK SABBATH.... PRIEST and VENOM."

Looking forward to seeing them in two weeks. Hope the new Drummer kicks ass!!! Hope they bust out some classic Venom Joints!! LIVE LIKE UH ANGEL DYE LIKE UH DEVIL!!!! :rocker:
