I've been planning on going. As of right now I'd say it's about 50/50. I'm down to one interested friend so the trek to NYC will be both lonely and much more importantly, expensive. Still, I would like to not miss the opportunity to see Blaze. I am however equally as pumped about seeing local opener Creation's End, who are a fantastic Prog Metal band.

Haha I think I am destined to go. I was thinking about going on Monday on my drive to work, listening to my iPod on shuffle. I wanted to go, but, even though I live near the city, I find traveling in and around in there to be annoying, and I have work the next morning, so I was not completely sure. Right after I thought to myself "I'll look in to it tonight and figure out if it's worth it", the next song came on... Maiden's The Edge of Darkness. I was like, "Hmm, what a coincidence." The next song was Blaze's Kill and Destroy. Then some Judas Priest song, followed by Blaze's The Launch, then some other song, then Blaze's Leap of Faith.

So right after I was debating it, 4 Blaze songs almost in a row came on shuffle. So I took it as a sign and got tickets, haha.

No. I roughly knew for a while where they were.. what they were doing... but things have probably changed for the both of them.

Yeah, I joined the IMBB when I was 12, back in spring 2003. I remember joining right when stuff regarding DOD and the "Gimme Ed" tour were going on.

Yeah, all of us IMBB people who are still here (which is like less than 10 I believe) all need to actually have a meet-up one day.

There are probably more than 10 still around, granted most don't post like they once did. Despite my lack of complete effort and quite frankly a lot from all of you, METALSETLISTS is still growing. People are still here for some reason :D

I'm either gonna be wearing an Evergrey or Borealis shirt and my Seventh Wonder zip-up hoodie. I will be with one friend. 6'3", about 300 pounds, many of you know what I look like. Shouldn't be too hard to find. And I've met SIT72 before.

There have been many other IMBB members that have come and gone over the years. Some are still on the IMBB. That place has changed dramatically. I can't remember when I joined because after the meltdown, they scrapped the board and started over. I think everyone's join date got reset to 2003, but I think we were there earlier than that.

I have to admit I'm pretty skeptical, since I checked out Man the Destroyer (the band opening for AND backing Blaze) and they pretty much just seem like some random garage band from Canada. Don't really know how good it's going to sound, but I guess we'll see.

Everyone be sure to get there early enough to see the "local" support band Creation's End. Great new Progressive Metal band from the NYC area. Vocalist is Mike Dimeo (ex Riot, ex Masterplan), and the lead guitarist is Marco Sfogli of the James Labrie band.

What happened over there at IMBB anyway? Wasn't there a mass banning of some sort.

Sometime around I want to say late 2005 or early 2006 they made the entire forum fanclub-only, meaning you technically had to pay to have access to it. If it wasn't for that and the migration that happened after it, this website honestly may have never taken off the way it did.

Maiden33

Sadly I can't seem to find an actual Blaze setlist from the tour. I was able to get a partial one, but it only included 11 or 12 songs, the person said there was definitely more that they didn't remember. It included "Stare at the Sun" though, so no one gets hurt.

Yeah that sucked. Not to mention the forums were kind of falling apart for a short while before that. Shit went crazy but I'm glad Metalsetlists was here because I think it ended up being a way better place.

Well, this really, really didn't pan out like I thought it would. After my friend canceled on me, I thought about it, and still decided to say screw it and go alone...

...But apparently the entire state of New Jersey is a fucking trainwreck after this storm. The exit for the train station was closed off because of a gigantic tree in the middle of the road, as was the next one. So I eventually got turned around, and after the bad advice of some stupid cop, got off the highway and attempted to find my way on back roads, which is where things got even worse. After going fairly out of the way and giving up because literally like every fucking road was closed, I decided to say screw it and return to the highway... except for the fact that they now had the exit I got off at closed, so I had to follow a fairly small road to get on at another exit... which wouldn't have been so bad, if not for the fact that a TON of others were doing the exact same thing, so I sat in traffic for an hour just to get back onto the highway. At this point I never would've been able to make it in time, even if somehow (HIGHLY unlikely) I had been able to get to the train. So I said fuck it and just drove home.

So in the end I wasted $20 in gas and 4 hours of my life. This was most certainly an "epic fail". Really pissed to have to have missed the show.
